Great value. Heavier than more expensive grates and just as fancy. Set on the vents on at the edges of the room as I'm not certain the grates will withstand the weight of continual traffic. The black is matte and slightly textured. Nothing sticks up above the grates. Would buy again.

These are superior in every respect to our existing registers, which had a plastic damper box. All metal is the only way to go. Even though they are described as Victorian the style would compliment any number of design styles.

I bought these for our second floor for floor vents also for downstairs and my husband asked why I bought floor vents for the ceiling because they don't have vents. They did he just had to drill holes. They are sturdy and match my ceiling fans. Love them

Robust all-metal construction. The lever to open and close the vent is kind of hard to get to, and the action is stiff. I don't often change the louver position so I'm fine with it. Maybe some oil or something would make it better but I haven't tried anything like that in the month or so that I've had them.
