This is the perfect item to update/expand capacity in a Square D breaker box (other manufacturers are listed on the package). Install is just like any other breaker. Buy/Use this item ONLY if you know what you are doing in a breaker box and with the power DISCONNECTED ONLY!

WATCH OUT. This breaker will not fit into every position of every Homeline box. The bus bars on certain boxes are machined such that the case of the breaker prevents the contacts from engaging the bus. It sticks up about 1/4", keeping the breaker clip contacts from touching the bus bar. If you look closely at an empty box (pictures on the web), you will notice some bus bar positions are "notched" and others not. I wish this info had been in the description of the breaker. I had to do a little research to find this out. I noticed that some reviewers "broke out" the case or "forced" the breaker into position. Neither method is safe. If you have it in the correct position, it drops in as easily as a single breaker. With that said, the Quad Tandem is a great idea when your box is full and you are not exceeding the overall current capacity of the box.

Hard to find Breaker

This product is an excellent solution to having to add a 240 volt circuit to a full load center! Fits right in and works well.

This is the ninth additional circuit I've added to my "full" 20-space breaker box over the last 24 years using these HOM-type tandem breakers and they've been a simple and reliable solution in every case. In this case I was able to add a 220V circuit in the space I originally had 2 110V 15A breakers. If your box is rated for enough additional circuits (it should say on the label) and it accepts HOM-type breakers (important!) I recommend this easy and inexpensive solution.

Great breaker. Just what I needed. Nice way to get a double pole breaker for a clothes dryer in very little load center space.
