A can lasts quite a long time. Sprayed where a pecan tree split, about 7" wide by 3' long and still much left in can (judging by weight). Wear disposable gloves, this stuff does NOT like to be removed from skin! Have used before and will buy again. This stuff seals very well.

A Quality Pruning Seal that does the Job!
I use Spectracide Pruning Seal routinely as an effective measure for protecting any trees from disease such as oak wilt, when branches are cut.

Container failed & tar got everywhere
Had stored on a shelf in my garage in TX. Container failed and it leaked a bunch of tar. It dripped down and got on some stuff including my extension cord, which I used without realizing, so that got tar on my carpet and also on my favorite pair of pants. So yeah, I’m understandably disappointed with this product.

Does the Job but
This Pruning Seal does the job but as another review stated it's kind of thick. Sealers I've used in the past have been more like spray paint. This product has the consistency of a thin glue. It did the job but I would advise you wear gloves and have on old clothing.

HD asked me to comment on this product. I purchased to cover over wounds on my newly planted ornamental maple,caused by whitetail bucks. In a years time the wound to the bark has opened dramatically endangering the tree even further. I applied two coats. Sprayed easy. Covered well. Took about 2 days to dry. Time will tell if it helps the tree. Applied 4/13/2024.

Works best as a clay pot sealant and highly recommend 2 coats with a drying time of 24 hours in between coats.
