Easy installation. Replaces a jack stud which allowed for a new opening I made from my living room into my kitchen to be 3" wider. This clip gave me the piece of mind to frame out a new doorway in the load-bearing wall of my house. For someone who has not done framing themselves previously, this could not have been an easier solution for my home improvement project.

Would always prefer a jack stud but if you just do not have the room these are the way to go!

Framing header support

No header modifications required. Remove front stud , place at the rear. 2 studes supporting header. Install header holder, remove supports. Done

Worked great on my home made wooden gantry crane, connecting 4x4 postswith a 4x6 cross beam, using lag bolts so it'll be easy to take apart if the need arises.

Helped straighten a warped beam and held everything up during a windstorm.

This worked great and will perform hold down as intended. Fit the lumber, seemed to be a good thickness and galvanized for longevity. Took primer and paint easily as well..

Heavy gauge steel provides plenty of support for framing members, great quality, as always, from Simpson.

Great product for widening the rough framing for an interior door without tearing into the surrounding sheetrock too much.

David, you installed the hanger incorrect dude. Look at Simpson’s pictures. You needed to turn them 90 degrees. Best of luck.

Can it use for a 5 feet width window on a bearing-wall? Thank you!

I used these Simpson Strong-Ties to hold done my 4"x4" roof framing. Great fix for a sloped roof design for my shed over my pool equipment. I also used Simpson Strong-Ties at other locations on my build of this shed. Especially with preexisting posts. Another style I used to bring the columns up to my roof elevations and use some for tying in the sole plat, top plate and roof rafters, header. A little pricy but they were the perfect work around for solid connections at all joints in the framing.

Worked excellently. Did not have room for jack stud on one side of door. This bracket took care of that problem.
