Works great and provides a solid base for your posts. I used this for my main structural support of my 22'X14' deck. produced a very sturdy structure.

The store is run down, dirty, disorganized and primarily unhelpful and often rude staff members. Check out is slow and even the parking lot is littered with garbage and debris. Honestly one the worst branches in the DMV

Nice finish
Easy installation, nice finish, overall good quality. However, adjustment of the post is very limited, if you are not able to also rotate the post after it is installed in the bracket.

Simpson redesign needed or Home Dep needs to find an alternate provider of standoffs...84 Lumber came close.
Simpson has a quality product. I used multiple 4X4 and 6X6 standoffs to replace rusted hardware that had been in place for years (beach installation). I had 2 problems...when I purchased the lumber is not 4X4 and 6X6. It is 3.5X3.5 and 5.5 X 5.5 and it shrunk over years...I used anvil and sledge-hammer to remake the Simpson standoffs.
Second problem was the Simpson riser was 1 inch. My old riser was 1.5 inches...so I had to find sturdy shims to fill the 4x4 and 6x6 gaps (not trivial since my deck was 12 ft by 45 ft and 12 ft above ground...aka really heavy). I will use Simpson again but I hope they factor reality into new design.

These post bases will surely stand the test of time. After being anchored into the concrete, the raised platform within the base keeps the post raised off of the concrete over an inch high. This will ensure the posts are not taking a bath each time we get a good rain. Don’t skimp on your post bases. 10/10

I used the 2 holes in the bases' bottom to secure with Tap Con screws. It felt good and securely fastened to the concrete floor of my patio! Thank you. Mike

I was moving a patio cover post and needed one of these. It's really nice because the bottom of the wood post sits inside this a good inch off the ground. Really protects the post from water that could collect around the base of the post.
