Perfect for the application
I recently got a hot tub and placed it ten feet from my back door. Because it's winter, I wanted to cover it. I had made a ten-by-ten frame of wood for the crushed stone under the tub and got this Shed-in-a-box to put over the tub, screwed to the wooden frame. Perfect fit and I love how it's covered from the weather when I am in the hot tub! Because of the actual application, a vent would have been something that would be helpful, but I know the Shed wasn't designed for the humidity I am subjecting it to, so that will be a DIY project.

    Waste of time and money!
I regret buying this. The quality is VERY poor. The fabric WILL rip. Nothing fell on my roof, yet, it ripped right after the warrantee period ended.

    Hello Neil,

We are awfully sorry to see that you are unhappy with your cover. Please know that fabric life is affected by the application, location, and the physical elements the shelter is exposed to. If you live in an area that gets more sun exposure than most of the cover, along with exposure to other elements such as strong winds and snow, it can also affect longevity. We do offer replacement cover kits in Standard, Heavy-Duty, and Ultra-Duty material. The heavier material fabric has a longer warranty and life expectancies which might better suit your needs. If you would like to discuss any of this in more detail, our customer service team are available 7 days a week 1-800-560-8383.

    Thank you ShelterLogic
      Roof will rip
Well, what do you know, after 1 year of use, the roof panel has begun to fail miserably. I have had to make multiple repairs. A finger's pressure is enough to rip it.

      Hello,

We are very sorry to hear about this! All our shelters include a 1-year limited manufacturer's warranty, and if your cover tears within that period, we suggest filing a claim and having that reviewed and possibly replaced by the corresponding department. Also, there are (3) different grade of material being the 7.5 oz standard fabric, 14.5 oz Heavy-Duty, and 21.5 oz Ultra Duty material. The heavier grade has longer warrantied and life expectancies, which might better suit your needs. If you have any questions or would like to discuss this in more detail, please feel free to call us at 1-800-932-9344.

      Thank you ShelterLogic

This is junk! It lasted 2 months before the roof started ripping.

Love our new 10x10x8 Shed in a box. We suggest at least three people to help assemble . Not all numbers were readable.on the poles but because we have owned one before we knew what we were doing. My Sister & Brother-in-law are now going to order one!!

This product was great until we got a stiff breeze and it blew out on the side, back, and along a zipper. It waS secured down well which is what I think allowed it to blow out, no where for air to go since there’s no vents near the top but air can get in about 6” worth all around the bottom. Now I need to find repair material or duct tape which will look real classy.

I just finished putting it together a few days ago. Today we have extreme weather with 70 mile an hour winds. Its withstanding perfectly. The torrential rains with flooding its withstanding as well. While I see other things fly down streets that didnt handle this weather at all. Thank you for making this affordable temporary storage. It's perfect for my needs. The picture attracted does show the wind nor the rains, but it does show its standing and taking it all.

I thought this is a good temporary storage shelter, much better than a lean-to or party pop-up style enclose tent. Looks sturdy and has already with stood 40 Plus knot Gale winds. But the real test will be if it can withstand the snows of Erie, PA, during the Winter months. Last year we had almost 200 inches of snow fall. This ShelterLogic, Shed-In-A-Box 8 ft. x 8 ft. x 8 ft. Grey Peak Style Storage Shed was put together by only myself. I took around 6 hours and was not too hard to assemble. The gray/silver covers are tensioned via retched straps that come with the kit in the box. I mounted the Shed on a un-used section of concrete driveway with lag bolts. It's small but handy for storing yard items from the weather.

I set it up myself, and used it as an extension on a work shop to build a boat in. It was easy to assemble and went up in a day, I did not use the one rear panel to leave it open, my only concern was it became very hot inside so I purchased another tarp to try and reflect some of the heat, it worked a little but come next summer I will have to keep it open. The other tarp should help protect the shelter logic roof from dry rot. All in all I fell like it was a good value. John, Villas NJ

So far, so good. I see other reviews about the tarp material deteriorating, but mine is two years in and still going strong. This shed is sturdy, with roll up flaps at both ends to allow access from either side. I use mine to store my motorcycles in the winter. (I don't have a garage!) While the frame IS sturdy, it's also light. I have my shed weighted down with 6 sandbags that drape over the frame. (Highly recommend those as well!) Without the weights, or bolting the shed to the concrete or a subfloor, a strong breeze would send this thing flying. Assembly was a bit of a pain. While I was able to do most of it myself, there were parts where you needed another pair of hands. The most frustrating part is having to manually sort and separate the 3 VERY SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT size bolts. I'm talking 1/8 inch differences, and they all come jumbled together in one bag. I would say it was a good 30-45 minutes of sorting before I could even begin putting the thing together. The shed does what I need it to do and keeps everything dry and out of the elements, although water will get in UNDER the tarp (I use moisture collecting bags to combat this), and the shed will not keep out squirrels or other critters, even zipped up fully. It really is best for people like me, that need a semi-permanent solution to non-garage storage.

The shed's frame seems to be ample and is easy to assemble. With the optional grounding stakes this shed has held up to an extremely windy few months so far (many 45 mph gusty days, 25 sustained) that damaged large limbs on trees. There is a tendency for the zippers on the flap to open in the wind. I wish that the Home Depot would have offered the shed in the tan color that is listed as an option on the instructions. I am afraid that the material that covers the shed seems to not be very robust. It is not standing up to the wind or the desert heat and has torn in several tension locations as shown in the provided photos. I only listed it a non-recommend due to location; it may work in less demanding environment, and is a bit pricey for the materials provided.

Not only has this survived 4 NE PA winters, some with very heavy snows, it just survived our record breaking March—4 Nor’Easters in just March. Strong winds of up to 60 and heavy snow. I highly recommend this shed.

This product was easy to assemble by myself with the help of a tree. It will be easier to have someone help you when you need to attach the cover and winch it down. Great product! The anchors are not the most efficient but work. I'm using mine to store two lawnmowers, a leaf vacuum, 2 bicycles, and a 6800 watt generator. I used two pallets and plywood for a floor to keep everything off the ground.

One of the cover panels was damaged due to very poor packaging, but the panel was replaced quickly. Easy to follow assembly instructions. I added a length of PVC pipe to the pocket at the bottom of the front and rear panels to help minimize flapping from wind.

                Heavy Duty replacement cover -GRRRReat!
This is in MN. 2 weeks after installing a replacement heavy duty cover , a 60-80 mph windstorm knocked over a willow tree directly on the fabric shed. When the neighbors called I expected the worst. The cover did not rip and the frame work maintained is shape. The tractor was driven out and used to lift the tree off the shed after some initial trimming to eliminate some of the weight of branches and trunk. I again stretched the cover and checked the anchors on the frame work. What a product! I was told the heavy duty cover would stretch and be much stronger. It certainly is. I expect no problems from the snow load in the winters to come.

This was not too difficult to put together, I did it little by little and it took a couple of days maybe 2 hours each day. Only needed a little help with lifting the cover over the top. Seems sturdy and doesn't move much in the wind. I have it close to the house. I bolted the entire shed onto a couple pieces of 8X4 3/4" plywood side by side with cement blocks underneath as a base. Worked pretty well.

                    Versatile !
This may seem a little unusual, but I converted my unit into a humidity controlled spray booth for finishing guitars with waterborne lacquer. My finish requires 45% to 60% relative humidity for application, and typically here in New Mexico, I see less than 30% RH. I put a humidifier in the shed, and cut a hole for an exhaust fan. Sure, it voids my warranty, but worth it ! This shed/booth sits in my garage, is well built and sturdy, and I would not hesitate to use as a storage unit outside, even with the high winds we get here. The anchors are solid.

I bought the larger shelter last July after purchasing 50 acres. It has held up incredibly well through the summer, fall and now winter. Look at what I have stored including tractor, attachments and wood splitter. We also had two hurricanes come through in the Fall. I highly recommended this

This brand had almost all good reviews around the internet. They sell a smaller model for almost the same price as this one, so was glad to find this at Home Depot. So far seems very sturdy, and has made it through first NY snowstorm. One thing I'm not sure I like is that the back panel doesn't reach the ground, I worry that it will let in the snow. (It's still cold and windy, so I'm not going out to check.) It was easy to contact customer service about this, they said something about it's not supposed to touch. The sides do touch the ground, however. It fits four bikes, a two-stage snowblower, a saw horse/bench thing, probably more, but I don't think I'll store the gas can in there. Was hoping tent/shed would fit on deck, but it is too big.

Followed instructions of installation exactly, and one cold front moves in and now it's in peices in my backyard and I should have just taken my money outside and thrown it in the air to watch it fly away, at least I wouldn't have a mess to pick up in my yard. Now I'm just out my money because they can't handle 15 mph winds

                          Outstanding product!
I am using this over my bulkhead to create an entryway and it does an excellent job! I am so happy because for years I've tried to get the carpenter in my family to build something for me but no luck. The product is made of strong, sturdy material, I put it together with my friend and it is the perfect fit, size and gets the job done. Now my tenant has shelter from the elements when entering and exiting her basement studio apartment. It adds such a finished look and an element of privacy and is charming actually with the motion sensor light I was able to include in the space. It is the perfect size for a standard bulkhead. My carpenter is off the hook permanently! I would recommend this over and over again.

                            Waterproofed Outdoor Storage Shed
I assembled this shed myself in around 8 hrs. This is a nice shed with quality bars and material. I didn't like the Ratchets when trying to unwind the straps to make adjustments. Larger Ratchets might have been easier for this task. When trying to maintain the 8 ft and cross way dimensions, any movement would throw the other dimensions out of whack so I hammered Allen Wrenched into the leg holes to keep it from moving. I feel T anchors / wrenches should have been provide for this task. The augers they supplied were useless for my ground. I bought 4 plastic 15" Tuff Spikes from home depot to secure the shed instead (see photo's). It was a little time consuming rolling up the zipped front flap to enter the shed so I hooked the flap inside the shed using a bungee cord (see photo's). I have added my push mower and 2 snow blowers to the shed and will store a few outdoor tools in the shed as well. If you are looking for a quick & inexpensive way to protect your outdoor equipment and tools, ShelterLogic's Shed in a Box is the answer.
