While sharkbite is a bit more expensive than standard copper fittings, they are easy and fast to use. And you can use them on either copper or pex. If you follow SharkBite's installation instructions you should not encounter any problems. I am very satisfied and highly recommend.

It is not easy to disconnect the sharkBites even with the tools offered. I have four pieces that still have pipe in them that need to be returned. Cost time and effort... once in, the defiantly work.

Hello, we are sorry to hear about your frustration with the 1/2 in. SharkBite MIP Elbow. SharkBite fittings are meant for permanent connections, so they can be difficult to remove. We recommend to make sure that the plastic collar on the SharkBite fitting is fully compressed before pulling on the fitting for removal. I am an older diy person and I have used...
I am an older diy person and I have used copper, plastic both PVC and CPVC and iron pipe. All have their place but this type of plumbing is by far the easiest to do. With These type of fittings you can use pex,CPVC, and copper or your distribution system in your residence. I recently used these for a water heater that was copper plumbed and for CPVC that I installed in a well delivery system best thing is the ease of use and the reduced time for install to use. Only down side is they are expensive on a per fitting basis.
