Started out good ended terrible
I bought this grill with high expectations on the day they were delivered to Home Depot. I Registered it that very same day online at Stok's website. The grill was working okay, the thermometer never worked. I kept it covered with a Stok cove when not in use. A few months down the line I started seeing rust on all the brackets that were welded to the main grill bowl. They soon became totally rusty and fell off. I notified Stok's and they referred me to outsource center for warranties. That should be the clue. They get so many complaints that they have to outsource them. I jumped through all of the hoops with one exception. I did not have a receipt. However I did register online with all the appropriate information (where did i purchase, How much it cost what accessories I bought with it, etc.) They refused to repair or replace it. I thought I would leave an appropriate review on Home Depot web site. I would NOT Recommend this grill to Anyone. Let the pictures speak for themselves.

    Flimsy - Cheap
The grill came already assembled. Very flimsy. I am an avid griller and really enjoy the heat for steaks, but if the grill is bumped the lid will fall and the handle and thermostat will break! I've already had to replace them twice. The heat deflector has already been replaced as well. Saw several comments about the brackets holding the heat shield falling off...same thing happened. I would not recommend this product to anyone expecting a lasting pleasant experience with a consistant grill!

Fit and Feel are great - assembly was relatively easy
I'm still getting use to the unit, but so far so good. The grill table is a nice space next to the cooking surface. I bought the cover separately, and it too fits well. The price for the grill and cover seem to be on the high end, so my only caveat to this rating is will both pieces stand up to the test of time. The cover will not based on feel, but it is too early to tell. Additional cooking pieces are quite costly, so we'll use our own and work around the provided handle.

      Versatile grill-like it alot
I bought this grill to replace an old gas grill and have been very pleased. I also purchased the vegetable cooker and gridle at the same time and I like them as well. The grill has no problem getting hot and after you get used to the 2 concentric burners its a piece of cake. I am an average griller and have gotten good results especially with vegatables. I wouldn't say the quality of materials in the grill are real great but not too bad for the price

      my stok
got rid of my cuisinart table top because i needed more room for company. besides the table top wasn't that great. from the day (last july) i lit it for aging it i have been very happy. it heats up quickly and pretty even. my only con is i wished the top was hinged in some way. i guess i'm lazy. caution do not drop the cover. paint chips easily and the temp. guage is Poor. bought a diff. model(manuf) from ?? and it has twice the quality and correct readings. would recommend this. space and conveinance is great. items that come with it are also great. good way to cook pizza on the pizza stone. take a close look.

Designed to cook for the food-lover
We bought this grill last spring, so have had a full summer and fall to use it. It is designed with thought and constructed of quality, fairly heavy duty materials. This is the best gas grill I have ever used! It is designed to cook for the cook. Other gas grills I have tried, from the cheap to the built-in island mega $$, don't cook as well as this one. The Stok's round Weber-like shape circulates the heat for even cooking. The flame cover plate reduces grease flare ups. The drop in pizza stone makes fabulous pizza. No more veggies slipping through the grill grates because it comes with a grill dish that drops into to the grill grates. The Stok offers high sear heat or slow pork shoulder roast heat when you want/need it. The Stok is the grill for you if: You have been lighting charcoal because of the cooking quality but are considering a gas grill; you have been negotiating the mediocre heat quality of the standard rectangular flip-top grill; you want to explore grilling more than burgers and dogs (although it does a great job with them too!) I would give it 6 stars if I could for cooking quality alone.

Lid is cumbersome it needs hinges
Good grill but the lid needs hinges and the circular cooking is hard to perfect. Assembly was hours not minutes.

Phenominal Best Grill Ever Owned (just beware of hot lid)
Best Gril I've Ever Owned... A friend called me while he was shopping at The Home Depot, Howell NJ, late last Summer, early Fall, to say: "Get Your Butt (sic) over to Home Depot. They're selling out these terrific grills for $58.00 with almost every accessory made." To my amazement, it came with all the accessories shown here which if sold on their own, would easily exceed what I paid for the entire grill. The only extra part I wanted, or needed was the skewer set and I was glad to do it at $19.98, The grill surface is made of a lightweight but heavy duty cast iron and is with a coating that cleans SO easily. All of it comes apart easily, with a click-lock handle, designed to lift out the grill section, which is included (again) at no extra charge. The handle fits all of the accessories (pizza stone, veggie tray, wok, all of which come with it, including the handle and a cutting board) to avoid burning yourself while changing trays (WATCH OUT FOR THE LID THOUGH, ITS HOT), there is a protective handle but the orange painted sides are oven hot. I'll use it maybe three or four times before removing all/any parts that come out without un-screwing, and toss them into the dishwasher. Everything comes out like brand new, every single time. I used to have to take other brand grills apart and put them into the oven during a self cleaning sesion. Although those parts came clean, self cleaning heat left stains and eventually burned off the chrome, making the grill wire rust. I had to buy new, $30.00, grill insert kits every season or two; but not anymore. I can't find anything that won't clean off of this grill, including slow cooked ribs with BBQ sauce, baked on and burned black and gummy; it comes if in the dishwasher without prewashing. This baby is the closest a home user will get, to owning a professional chef's grill, at homeowner prices. What a GREAT Grill and believe me, I don't get exciced over most things manufactured these days I was fortunate enough to have caught an end of season sale (with my best friend sitting on the last three, one for himself, one for me and one for another of our friends :) ) he bought them all and waited for us to bring our own cars (the box is sort of big & clumsy) you'll only fit one per car. Sale or no sale, I'd buy it again... Though grateful to get it at such an incredible price, I'd easily pay the $229.99 as advertized today, to replace it. Something gives me the feeling its going to be a very, very long time before I have to replace it. TIP: its end of season, now, as of this writing... I've been told the sell out, if you can find them, at the end of season for $79 +... My $59 dollar deal was a last few, front isle, last day, lucky moment; Great Friend, deal. My Home Depot Mgr, says $79.98 is the lowest, they'll normally sell for and only if there are so few as to have to get them out of the way. Absolutely Phenominal~! The TheraPetGuy PS. I can't believe I wrote this much about anything, much less a grill :-) Good Luck, getting yours... .. .

Great Grill - Watch the lid! :)
I've had this grill for almost 8 months now and love it! It heats up quickly, cooks evenly, is easy to clean, and has a ton of space. Took about 30-40 minutes to put together and it went smoothly. As other posters have mentioned the stupid table is just too small for the lid to hold and I knew it but put it there anyway last night and it fell into the grass breaking the handle and thermomemter. $29 and a call to their distributor Gardner, Inc. and I'll have everything fixed up in a week when the parts arrive. Personally I can't take down the rating for my mistake.

          Great Product
Purchased the grill about a month ago and have used it several times. Great grill so far. Assembly took about 30 minutes and it was ready to cook. The grill heats up faster than any others I have ever used, which is great as far as saving gas goes. The cast iron grates are the way to go for serious grilling. The prep table is great for holding drinks and other items while you are grilling. If you want a way to store your tools or any other items that hang, I bought a wire piece made for round charcoal grills and it fits perfectly, even with the lid on. Overall very happy with the purchase and I can tell it will be a lasting product.

          Great Grill
Bought this grill to take camping in 2011. Works great, can load in truck by myself each weekend to go camping. Had another grill but had to have two people to load and unload. This is much better. Use the veggie grill, and Pizza stone, they all work great..

          great features on paper
bought mine on sale at home depot. as with others i drpped the grill cover. bingo, there goes the temp. guage. it is really, really cheaply made. i suppose as with others if you can find a replacement, it will probably take weeks to get it. gas hose would not connec to gas bottle without leaking,at gas bottle connection.new hose needed. by the time i am finished spending on replacements and supplied fittings i could have saved money and bought a good grill.

STOK Island Gas Grill vs. Stainless Steel “Commercial Series” Grill
STOK Island Gas Grill vs. Stainless Steel “Commercial Series” Grill I purchased the STOK Island Gas Grill Oct. 2011. I am a mechanical engineer so I am very critical about quality of materials and workmanship. Both of which on this grill very high quality. Assembly only took about 20-30 min. I have used it several times since my purchase. This grill can reach over 700 deg. fast so don’t turn on and leave unsupervised for long. Great for searing steaks. I purchased the wok separately and have used it and the other inserts with good results. This grill has very even cooking. We have family, make your own, pizza night on weekends and the crust comes out awesome using the pizza stone with the grill on its hottest setting (I purchased a wooden long handle pizza board for this). I paid less than what is advertised for my STOK Island Gas Grill but it was the end of the season and my local store need to clear inventory. I would have no problem paying the current $299 listed for this grill based on the grills performance. As a comparison, I paid almost $400 for a stainless steel “commercial series” grill three years ago and the “commercial series” grill in my opinion is complete garbage. I was never very happy with the “commercial series” grill but was stuck because of the money spent for the purchase. The “commercial series” grill never cooked evenly, welds began to fail and crack during the first year, and by mid-summer 2011 (approx. three years after purchase) the inside of the grill completely rusted away and the gas controls stopped working. Cheaper grades of stainless steel can and will rust which began to happen on my “commercial series” grill. I was very diligent with maintenance and keeping the grill covered and out of the elements but still had very poor performance with the “commercial series” grill.

          BEST GRILL I'VE EVER OWNED.......
Rec'd grill from my family for Christmas. They paid $85.00. WOW!! Easy assembly( my sons said) and I love the island style. Really like the features: removable center grill with optional replacements(vegetable, wok, roaster, griddle, roaster and pizza stone).Grill can reach 700 degrees which is great for burning off grill residue for easy removal. Easy removal of burner cover for easy of cleaning. Quick heating and love the double burners, especially the 10 yr guarantee. I've used the grill several times and have no problem controlling the temperature after a bit of trial and error(grilling 4 steaks one at a time to guage the proper temp for the desired doneness). I'm planning on ordering the griddle, chicken roaster and grill cover. Very portable and can be carried down steps thank to the wheels(I plan to replace with wider ones w/locks for using on sandy/rocky areas). Waxing it today to keep it water repellent and easier to clean after use. Unless it is the Stok Quattro, I'll not purchase anything else for my grilling. Only flaw I've found is one small chip in the outer lip of grill, which may have occurred in packing or assembly as there are slight indentures(which don't affect the seating/seal of the top. Also, only after reading reviews did I find the hanging hooks inside the hood, as they're not mentioned in the manual.

          Easy Assembly
I bought this grill about two weeks ago. Its been cold here, so I have delayed assembling it. Today, it was in the 50's, so I had a go at it. From start to finish, it took about 1 hour and 30 minutes, by myself. It went together well, with no problems or missing / broken parts. The instructions were very clear, with many diagrams showing each small step at a time. I like the fact that all of the hardware (screws, washers etc...) were seperated and labeled. I can't wait for my first chance to use it.

Lid fell broke the thermostat and the handle... but now i know where to store it...
Very nice grill, but instructions do not tell you where to put the lid while rotating food... I found out the hard way. My lid fell off the prep table and broke. While looking for replacement parts i found that it hangs on the side by the built in hooks inside the lid. too late...

            Absolutely My FAV!
I have never been a fan of gas grills but this was a gift. I've never been so thrilled to cook out. I pretty much cook out nightly now. It's easy to start, no fuss, which is why I've been terrified of gas grills. It's easy to regulate the temperature and easy to clean up afterwards, then, just roll it and put it away. So simple, yet attractive and looks like a professional grill. I'm impressing friends :)

This is just what I've been looking for. Well built except for gas knobs feel a little cheap. Love the way it cooks and heats up really fast. Great features with all the different inserts, large table top, and large wheels makes it easy to move around.

            Thermometer is less than desired
Was really impressed up until last night when putting the cover on. Lid slipped, fell about foot. Yes, as I have read from others, the thermomer stem snapped right off.

I was surprised that every fastener was stainless steel. I put it together in about 30-40 min. This grill heats-up rite-now. Dont bother walking away for preheating. Great work area next to grill. This is the one.

            Gets the job done
This is an excellent grill. The flame system is innovative and even. The shape of the grill resists wind. The heat is adequate for most tasks. The lid holder needs a better design, like the Weber Performer.

No problems putting it together. Really nice features. Only negative is where to put the lid while rotating food etc. It could easily fall and be damaged. Other than that it is a good product.

Attractive addition to the deck & possibly the best pizza oven out there.
The best grill I've seen for the price, hands down. I am pretty loyal to Weber (Mini Q, Genesis) grills but when this grill came about for $100 I bit and I am glad I did. It's a great little grill. I think it is uniquely attractive - why not add some color to the boring sterility of black and steel grills? I can only imagine that the price was dropped because people who are in the market for a grill are hesitant to gamble on a new brand that they've never heard of. The combination of it being able to get really hot, really quickly, and the cast iron cooking grates make it perfect for grilling. While it may seem gimmicky at first, the interchangeable inserts do make it more versatile. It's reasonably small so the grill heats up to 700 degrees in just a few minutes and I cooked a delicious pizza in about 5 minutes. Its certainly become my preferred way of making pizza. The warranty sealed the deal. - and yes, there is a hook on the inside of the lid so you can hang it after removing.

            Nice grill for price
I like this grill. Easy to assmble, low price. Great tasting. Cooks with a real nice grill grate. Change: place to store the lid. Place to hang utinsils. No lava rock: messy with flare ups. Requires lots of cleaning/maintenance after each use. I wouldn't cook a fatty rib eye or messy bbq ribs on it. Got it for $100 so no complaints and can't wait to experiment more.
