This is a budget dishwasher, so one must keep that in mind when purchasing. I read several reviews before purchasing, so I knew what to expect. It is true that the run time is very long and the dishes do not dry. I also previously owned a more popular name brand portable dishwasher a few years ago, and the higher name brand was slightly better quality. However, for what you get, I would not pay more for a name brand with more recognition. The dishes get clean no matter what and I'm sure the SPT and the other brands have similar durability. I have also used built-in dishwashers. As for the lack of drying, I never used a dry cycle on my built-in dishwasher because I did not want to waste the energy. Hence, that was a feature that I did not want or need. Also, this dishwasher gets my dishes more clean than my last built-in dishwasher which was a popular name brand. We have had this machine for three months, and we love it. Here are a few tricks that we have learned for this machine. Use cold water as the dishwasher heats up the water, so there is no need to pay for two energy sources. Rinse the dishes well and use the "light" cycle. That takes less time, less water, and less energy. Prop the door open a couple inches after the cycle and let the dishes air dry. We often run the dishwasher right after dinner, so we just leave the door propped open overnight and most of the dishes will be dry by morning.

Was packed very well, haved used it only 3 times so far and has worked great..for a small dishwasher for 2 it is what I was looking for...

Was a bit smaller than I expected, capacity-wise. But, the cleaning quality is fabulous! Fits into a smaller space and looks attractive.

I have had this dishwasher for about a month now and I love it. It is easy to use and set up. I haven’t used any rinse aid with it yet but I will eventually. I just open the door and let the dishes air dry. It takes just as long to wash my dishes as a normal built in dishwasher and all of my dishes come out clean and ready to go. I would recommend this dishwasher to any small household like mine.

I liked that it has a stainless steel interior. 24 in did not have that.

I have owned the SPT 18in. Portable for two months, and I'm very happy with this dishwasher. The cycles run a little longer than with my last one, but it does an excellent job. As a pleasant surprise, there are several choices of cycles, a timer feature, easy, intuitive operation, and this dishwasher is SUPER quiet. The narrow width allows me to fill a small space I would have no use for, and the top is even with my countertop.

+ cleans dishes very well + with rinse aid dishes dry very well + very quite + sturdy and easy to move around - 2hrs for normal wash cycle - not enough space for plates and post/pans - without rinse-aid dishes are totally wet - bit longer water hose would be helpful

It broke within a year. Unfortunately their warrantee only includes the shipping of new parts-- with massively complicated instructions. Even appliance repair specialists could not do the repair. The next option is to ship the dishwasher back to LA at your own expense. Look for a real warrantee.

The dishwasher was easy to use

Great dishwasher

Super pleased with this dishwasher. Cleans perfectly....crystal clear glasses, dishes, utensils and flatware. Cat dishes with dried food bits come out sparkling. I only use d/w detergent which is eco friendly and never tested on animals with excellent results. Blends very well in my kitchen. Priced very affordably. I recommend it highly. Only problem was having someone carry it in since I am elderly and handicapped.

The front door was bent and the door would not open. Box was in perfect shape, so it left the factory bent. After sending pics to manufacturer they told us to return to home depot. We did. Overall the brand wasn’t as nice as a GE or major brand. Replaced with a GE from home depot.

Couldn't believe all of the features at this price. Great selections of washing choices. Whisper quite.

I have two complaints about this: I can't easily fit pots and pans in it and the normal cycle takes nearly two hours. I used to have a countertop dishwasher that fits pots and pans better than this. We went with this compact size because the next size up was $300 more. That being said, I am happy we bought this because it does clean well, has a "countertop" that is durable and useful and since it has two spinners (I don't know what they're called), it makes loading easier.

I did my research before ordering and this model had the best reviews. Only thing that I’m upset about is not ordering it sooner. I use Finish as recommended and set it to the All in One as instructed, this setting does take 2 hours to wash and dry but everything comes out crystal clean. You can use other soap to use other settings which are faster. It is quiet too.

The dishwasher suits our needs for a small, portable unit. It does a great job and the instruction book was easy to understand. The connection to the water supply works perfectly. We like the stainless steel interior, and the silverware basket with the little snap-on covers. We've had it for 2-1/2 weeks.

Washes great, easy to hook up. The cables hide perfectly behind the machine, and the wheels allow for it to be rolled easily when needed. The only complaint is that the container for the detergent is a tad too small, and the tablet gets stuck there, will be switching to liquid from now on.

quiet operation

This dishwasher is perfect for our tiny house and would work well in any apartment. It cleans and dries the dishes very well. It shipped by UPS and arrived on time & in great condition. Very easy set up. Comes with faucet adapter. I am very pleased with this dishwasher & you will be too.

It gets the dishes good and clean, Quiet operation. What more can you ask a dish washer to do?

I’m extremely impressed with the easy set up and the ease of wheeling the dishwasher back and forth in my kitchen. As a heavily pregnant woman this is a huge bonus! I have used this washer a few times and I’m so happy and impressed with how efficient it is. It uses minimal water, it takes up minimal space, it is very quiet, and can wash the same amount of dishes I used to wash in previously used full size dishwashers. My dishes come out mostly dry each time (water bottles typically need to be hand dried) and sparking clean. I also love that my dishes are still very warm long after the cycle has ended (this makes my inner germaphobe so happy). I could not ask for anything better to make my old farm house kitchen more efficient!

It is obviously a cheap dishwasher. The dishes need to be dried after it finishes it’s cycle.

Pros: It cleans beautifully. Super quiet. The two stage water filter is easy to clean. Cons: The top rack is too close to the top. OK for glassware and small saucers. I'll never fill that rack because wash time comes after 4 meals (8 dinner plates). C'est la vie. ================= SPT recommends cleaning the filter after each use. Once a month should be sufficient. The first time I hooked the water lines to faucet and slowly turned the water on, water spewed from the unicouple. Turned the water off & removed the unicouple. Both hoses were loose. Twisted the hose ends until they were snugly fastened to the unicouple and tried again. Success!
