I struggled to give this an appropriate star rating. If your the type of person that doesn't like to fuss over things, especially your rug, than this one is not for you. By its very nature you will find stragglers" sticking up when you first open the rug. You'll need to cut or tuck them under the weave and from time to time you'll need to repeat the process. That being said, it's a very nice looking rug, but I would definitely recommend a pad under it, since it is not a soft rug. How this rug will hold up overtime, I do not know. If you don't like what your reading, but still want an all natural fiber rug than I would avoid jute and seagrass (like this one) and buy a sisal rug.

Didn’t realize it was actually the raw straw or whatever the fiber was, it was to rough on bare feet

I wanted the rug for the kitchen. Sadly it is too rough to walk on barefooted whicj I do periodically. Better for an outdoor area

I bought this rug as it was mentioned it is soft. It can only be called soft if you think a brillo pad is also soft, or a cactus plant or shark teeth. Yes it hurts to walk on this. Looks great though

Good little 3 x 3 rug for small entry and in front of kitchen sink.

I expected the fiber to be a lot softer and smoother.

The trim color does not look gray... it looks more like olive or brown.
