The rug looks very nice in front of the slider. While it could be used outside, I use it inside. I bought this bcse it can be hosed off and air dried easily. Only problem I can see is that it doesn't have a waterproof backing, so if dogs, kids etc come in really wet you do need to check water has not gone through. Considering getting larger ones for the covered front porch.
