Hi there! We recommend airing out a new rug for a few days. Leave your new rug in a well-ventilated space with your doors and windows open and frequently vacuum over the first few days. For a quicker fix, open your windows and place a fan where it can blow across your new rug. In a small space, consider a portable air filter to help with new rug odor removal.Color differences comes from dye lot variances. Rugs from different production timelines will look slightly different when compared next to each other. This rug was purchased to be a companion rug to another Safavieh Antiquity rug that I had purchased from another company. Since colors are tricky to determine online and since the large picture of the rug showed a lot of gold in the border, I was hesitant about ordering. However, the border is actually a soft beige(cream) like the color appears in one of the views that shows the rug on a floor. That view most accurately depicts all colors in the rug. Workmanship is good and I've not noticed much shedding. Overall, the item seems to be good value for the price, is pretty and cheerful, blends well with my other rug in style and colors and arrived unbelievably fast.

They were awful! The smell was overwhelming, and the shedding of fibers was ridiculous. Plus, the colors on the two “matching” rugs wasn’t even close! Very disappointing. Returned them the very next day.

Nice color & quality, but musty smell with hole
This rug had nice colors & great quality. It arrived with a very musty smell like it had been in a flooded basement. It also had a small hole in it so was defective. We purchased another SAFAVIEH rug with the same musty smell. Returned both.

Beautiful rug. Thick and heavy. Lays down beautifully. No odor. Colors just like on computer. Green is a bright apple green, yellow true yellow and there is a little burgundy. Background pale tan.
I absolutely love the rug.

The quality is good and colors should fit well in many different areas. I unrolled it by myself and gently turned the corners down and it quickly laid flat on the floor. The colors are muted beige with a true rust color. It is not a bright color and not red or burgundy. It will not overpower a room, and should blend well with other decor.

High quality rug w/ perfect thickness & beautiful colors. The red/rust is muted rusty-red; not fire-engine red nor burgandy wine. It has heathered look in the Behr paint colors of MINERAL RED & ROASTED PEPPER. Beige is creamy beige, not gold, as some pictures show. The rug sheds a bit, but expected since it's wool.

Bought the 8x10' and the 10' runner. Both arrived well packaged and in good condition. Colors are great, just as pictured. However, the runner is a slightly different color than the 8x10. Runner is more of an ivory while the 8x10 is darker, more of a light tan. A little disappointed in this, but keeping anyway.

The quality seemed good, but the photo colors were not accurate. The green was actually turquoise, which didn't work with our decor. I had the same issue with several websites' representations of rug colors. So I returned a number of rugs before I found one that worked.

The rug colors are way different than those in the picture. They are much lighter than I would prefer. However, I was able to make this work for me, so I am keeping the rug. I continue to vacuum many fibers from the rug, even though it has been on the floor for weeks. The rug is of good quality. There are some intermittent hard nubs in the rug, but this is not a huge problem. Overall, pleased with the purchase.
