This paint looks fabulous. It separates and needs stirring a lot but once it's on it's a rock solid coating. Great for outdoor items.

I used Rust-Oleum paint on my fence and gates to get the luster back, I love how it repels the water and looks great.

Not difficult to apply- self leveling, very smelly and has a shiny wet look. I just had to throw away the brush because I couldn't get it cleaned. Used it on my bathroom countertop.

Use it on Woodshop door panels for a nice, attractive pegboard for tool storage

Great paint, it’s difficult to get a hammered appearance unless you’re using the spray paint. I used a non-shedding mini roller with a 3/8 nap and in tight spots used the side of a paintbrush with a smacking motion. It’s important you use a good quality roller as the paint is thick and tacky which will pull the nap fibers out on cheaper rollers. Practice your technique prior to painting to avoid getting frustrated. I painted a 40 year old workbench and used the leftover paint on a doorknob; both look great.

This worked great on my porch furniture! Mismatched pieces now all look cohesive, and it turned out beautifully. Easy to apply, very forgiving, and the hammered look is awesome. Be aware that this is NOT A LATEX PAINT. And regular paint thinner doesn't get it out of the brush, but will take it off your hands. Xylene would work better for that. I'd just use a disposable brush and pitch it. Great stuff!

Great for concrete. This paint actually went further than I expected. I was painting over an outdoor rough textured concrete wall. When painting over a dark surface, it only needed one coat but when painting over a light colored section, a second coat was necessary. The hammered effect is much more noticeable on metal but it helps hide (or complement) the surface imperfections in the concrete. It's a challenge in north Texas to find a day with lower than 65% humidity and less than 90 degrees (required according to the instructions) but the result was good. My best effort still left some streaks from the roller but nothing I can't live with. I was glad to be working outside because it has a really strong smell until it cures a bit. I didn't try cleaning any brushes or rollers - just threw them away.

I love the finish of this hammered paint. It's easy to apply to horizontal surfaces and can be recoated seamlessly

I used this on the RPM Magazine project car's roll cage and it worked excellent. I used a cheap brush to apply and a dabbing motion to get a more dramatic stippling effect. it was nice to not deal with masking tape and overspray. I will be using this from now on for race car cages.

I used this for our front door and it turned out beautiful. I used a paint brush so I could get a nice textured look. I turned the brush side to side as I painted after the first two coats. It took three coats on our fiberglass door. In my opinion, it was a little too sticky but overall a great product. I only used 3/4 of a can for the door.

I bought BLACK paint for my wrought iron railings. Hired someone to sand/scrape the railings and to paint them. He did a great job except my railings are GRAY. When I went back to the store, I was told no matter what the cans are labeled, they're all gray!!

I sprayed it, and even though I thinned it with Xenol to the specified thickness, it was still pretty tough to keep it flowing evenly. Fortunately the way the paint dries it allows for error. We shall see how it weathers now.

Used this paint on some very old metal milk cans. They now look as good as new.

The prep work was pretty simple, the paint went on with really good coverage. Did a 2nd coat to provide the durability needed for kids and pets that jump on the Bilko. Love the hammered finish, looks really cool! Bilko Door Handle made the handle look bronzed.

My company does metal restoration, including custom mailboxes and street sign posts. Love the product. Deep, rich color with extreme durability. One negative for the "Rusty" guys: why can't I buy it by the gallon ... mainly for the handle for better transporting from mailbox to mailbox, sign post to sign post? Thanks.

Unfortunately, this Hammered Copper expensive. I would use for more projects but it cost too much. Was even considering painting my house with it. Would be a nice experiment. But that would be outrageously expensive because of the size of the house. Plus I do not know if it can be sprayed with a gun. It has a great look. I painted some very large exterior window frames (photo attached) and an exterior wall of a new barn. great look and with white trim it look like a cross between rustic and a cool 70's color.

I've used this product on several occasions in spray cans and the quart size. It'e easy to apply, dries fast, and has a nice looking tough finish. The photo is a bracket painted with the hammered silver. The hammered brown was for a gate post I fabricated.

I saw some bad reviews of this and almost didn't buy it but I'm glad I did. I've always used the spray paint hammered for my projects which is AMAZING by the way, but for this project, spraying wasn't an option. People have mentioned it's hard to work with and stringy. It is stringy, that is part of what gives the hammered look. This is probably not best for someone that works slowly or that is inexperienced at painting. What worked best for me is to use a small roller and pour small amounts in the tray (maybe 1/4 quart at a time). It dries quickly and gets really thick so use small amounts. Roll quickly and keep your roller well saturated, roll forward once and backward once then STOP! If it isn't fully covered, go back later after it's fully dry. Continuing to roll back and forth is what makes the "strings". Roll everything you need first - do not touch a paint brush yet. You do not want to try to keep a brush and roller from drying out. Complete all of the rolling first, then go back and get areas that need to be brushed. This stuff is very thin so it drips easy - make sure you have a lot of mineral spirits to clean yourself up with. Do not wear any clothes or anything you would like to keep because it will never come out of them. When you are done, plan to toss your roller, pan and brush (I bought cheapos at Home Depot so I could toss when done). You'll never get them clean, it's just not worth the hassle. Overall this turned out beautifully and the texture that I needed to cover up some uneven spots due to rust. It actually looks better than it did when it was new to me (it was black which didn't match our house). I would definitely recommend this product and I'm already planning what I'm going to paint with my left over because I love it so much. Just remember, once you start, don't leave the paint sitting or take long breaks because it dries SUPER fast.

I am building a train engine for a mini golf course. The train engine cab outside is a metal "skin" that is intended to rust. The engine is approximately 8 feet long and the cab is approximately 5 feet tall. The interior is wood and painted with the Rust-Oleum Copper Hammered paint.

We've used this on our exterior doors and it's taken both worn-down doors to that of brand new doors! The 'hammered' texture is pretty cool and helps to hide any imperfections. We've also used this product on the face of our interior steps (high traffic area) and have had many many compliments alongside a finishing look that hasn't chipped, pealed or otherwise faltered!

Made my water fountain look great. Stands up to the running water with no problem.

I refreshed my water fountain with the hammered silver on each bowl and the background was hammered brown. The paint was very easy to apply and has stood up to the constant water running through the fountain. Looks great.

Used this to paint my stark white aluminum shelterloogic canopy. This product went on smoothly and did not require 2 coats.

The paint looks great on the meter box that was rusting out. If it works as well as other Rustoleum products, I expect it to look good about 2 years even though I painted right over the rust.

I wanted copper back splash in my kitchen without the expense of real copper. This product gave me the look I wanted, it was affordable and easy to use.

I have used this paint on several projects that get heavy use and abuse. Here is a shot of the underside of one of my projects, used Rust-o- hammered black and gray on it. Brushed on two coats of each, easy to apply and dried hard as a rock.

We bought this for to do a little DIY kitchen update. The color made our cabinets come alive with shine and texture, Before they where dull and just boring. We also used the stick on paper from homedepot as well.

Once the paint was fully mixed, it went on easily. You must use it in a well ventilated area. The odor is strong, but diminishes within a few hours. Love the appearance of the paint on wood.
