Horrible coverage follow up
The reply from Rustoleum tells me to hold the can upright when the can says “ANY-ANGLE” spray.
I’m going to have a lot of trouble positioning my car vertically so I can hold the can upright.

Not Black - it’s Green
As others have stated, this is not black but a dark green. Yes it was shaken up (over two minutes)

It's Green...and not really matte
The title says it all. Unfortunately, I do not see colors well and painted the entire bumper before I realized. I just thought is was an off black, but my wife says it is straight hunter green...with some sheen.

should have been marketed as dark military green
Used this to paint my fenders on a custom motorcycle build expecting a flat black..the finish is matte but more green than black in my eyes… personally I like most of their products and use them quite often but this needs to be relabeled- it’s more of a military color and should be marketed as such

NOT BLACK
Why rustoleum would call this black is beyond me. It's dark green. I have never had to test any black spray paint made by rustoleum but now I'll need to start.

Oh no, this is not what we like to hear. After vigorously shaking Rust-Oleum Automotive Matte Finish Spray Paint for at least one minute once the mixing ball begins to rattle, and frequently during use, the color will match the cap. All that shaking keeps the pigment (color) in the can well mixed, this provides excellent color when the paint is dry. Too shinny...and DEFINITELY NOT black
The finish is a bit too shinny for a matte ....and the color is definitely greenish...( Yes , I shook the can well...yes I used black primer..Quite experienced on spray painting)...and the sprayer is awful. Bought this based on Rust Oleum previous experiences...but this was a bust.

even finish but not really black
maybe I should have read the reviews but it does have a green tint to it. I sprayed a black primer underneath, let that dry for 8 hours, then sprayed this "matte black." I was expecting a super black turnout but there is a green tint to it. I'll be starting my project over with something else...

NOT MATTE, very glossy. bumpy truck bed liner like finish.
Shaken over a minute before hand and every 30 seconds while painting, used two cans and it still went on super blotchy. Used over top of Rust-Oleum clean metal primer. Looks awful. Waste of money.

Yikes, something is amiss here! To ensure the proper sheen with Rust-Oleum Automotive Matte Finish Spray Paint, it is essential that the can is shaken for a full minute before each use and shaken often during your application. This will ensure the flattening agents are evenly distributed throughout the application and provide a consistent finish.

Used for learning purposes ( trying to master the art of painting vehicles during quarantine) , wet sands perfectly with 2000 and 3000 grit sandpaper and buff out great for a spray can paint . Its also cheaper to buy at home depot compared to autopart stores.

Let's talk through this! It is important to shake Rust-Oleum Automotive Matte Finish Spray Paint thoroughly before use and often during your application. Two or more light coats should be applied a few minutes apart while keeping the can 10-16” from the surface. Perfect match for black ABS auto parts.
I wanted to ditch the chrome and paint my grill which sits above the factory black ABS bumper cover on my truck. It's a perfect match. better than just the color match, it went on evenly and smooth. I let it cure for several days and it set up rock solid. I accidentally hit it with my buffer that had rubbing compund loaded on it and it did nothing to this paint.
it's not a true deep black, but matches ABS parts like a champ.

Like others have said, this product dries to a dark, drab, military green color. While spraying, before its dry it seems like it will be a perfect black. I put on four light coats. I used it to spray an after market saddlebag for to go on a matte black motorcycle. If the black was off a little bit I could have lived with it. It's not even close...it's green. I will sand it down and find another product.

Did the job at a very small expense
on a last resort to save our car's dignity it seemed like going with a black paint job couldn't fail. the application was easy and I was able to do the whole car in a bout 2 hours because everything dried so fast. I would highly recommend painting the car each panel at a time to allow for even coverage. the color was black under the shade but did have a greenish tint to it in the sunlight.

Great noe but lets see how well it holds up
The paint does go on a dark olive as someone mentioned in different lightings. However, I used this paint to paint my wheels. I had to use about 7 coats on each wheel and there still were spots that were't sticking...it turned out looking OK but lets see how long it will hold up !!

Its a good product and can take care of stuff in a good way. Tried on back patio table and on a part for a military HUMVEE, good results.

Garbage
Paint is too glossy. Wrinkles after second coat even though it says recoat any time. Overall an absolutely horrible product.

NOT matte black
used primer and 2 cans of this, cost me approx. $35 and definitely not a true matte black. Now have to spend dbl the time to remove this junk, re-prep, re-paint and spend dbl the money on a better product. Used for side mirror covers and 2 racing stripe. Used correctly, shaken, put can in warm water 20 min., ect. So don't read response from manufacturer blowing smoke! There wouldn't be this many bad reviews if it was user error. Just wish I read these BEFORE purchasing.
