The unit was very difficult to assemble and the internal shelf did not fit properly. I was able to fix the shelf problem with some additional hardware so I will keep the unit. However, I do not recommend buying this item because of the assembly issues.

The inside shelf did not fit until the cabinet sat the the sun for a couple of days. Also the top is not flat. Their is a slight curve. Placing items for entertainment purposes might be a challenge. Other than that, it’s beautiful and holds a lot of items.

It was exactly what I wanted but building was a nightmare. Instructions said there were 5 sets of screws they only sent 3. Several of the numbers they labeled the screws didn't match anything. Very disappointed in Rubbermaids instructions. Buy the unit already assembled.

Great shed, doors not staying closed with a lock
I bought the 7x6 shed last August 2017, it a great shed with many features and fits my needs. The only issue is that the doors do not stay shut, even with a lock on it, I have been trying to get a hold of someone to see if there are similar issues out there, but no one answers

Door closing
Built a solid 8'x8' base and installed the shed in 5 hours (two persons). Nice, but after two months the doors do not close tight at the top. What do I do?

Followed all instruction but the shelf didn't sit square on the shelf holders and the front doors stil dont close right. May be a function of plastic furniture. Would have preferred another material choice, but outdoor storage cabinets are hard to find! Otherwise it is as I expected!

This item fits 3 of my anti-gravity chairs perfectly. So it satisfies my needs.
My only problem is with assembly. The screws that hold it together are way to close to the panels they are holding. Even a hand held screwdriver with a very small handle was difficult to keep the screws straight.

So far not good. You have to put heavy stuff on the top sides to keep the stupid shelf from falling down and when you open the doors stuff falls out and breaks. I had wine glasses on the top shelf and when I opened the doors the shelf had fallen down and the glasses hit the patio floor

Decent and as expected
The two most common issues that people mention in other reviews are absolutley true. The shelf falls constantly and the doors wont stay shut. Easy fixes..added 4 cheap shelf brackets to hold the shelf up and added a better latch for the doors. This is still a good deal even with the alterations. If you are handy at all you can make this work easily especially if it is on sale. I dont think I would have paid full price though with some of the past reviews

Works as expected. Assembly was challenging. After finishing the assembly, I found the shelf didn't fit. It was about an eight of an inch too short to span the distance to the end brackets. Rather than disassembling and trying to force the end pieces tighter together, I rigged up a bushing-type spacer to install behind the shelf brackets. I was able to move them close enough to lock the shelf in place. It works OK now (I hope) but it was a pain in the butt to modify.

Follow the directions and it's easy!
We made sure we had a LEVEL surface to install the shed on - makes a huge difference! No issues with putting the shed together, other than there appears to be excess screws in the bags - we went back over the instructions with a fine-tooth comb and made sure we didn't miss anything.
Had our 1st major rainstorm and everything is high and dry - great product!

Easy assembly. Just need those pesky door latches
My husband built a foundation to put the building on to keep it level and square. Assembly was straightforward and accomplished in a reasonable amount of time. Meets our needs just fine. The only issue is the interior door latches for the lefthand door that are mentioned in the assembly instructions (and you can see where they go on the door) are nowhere to be found. Without them, the doors aren't secured to the building with anything but the hinges, and even locked together, they gape open.
Aside from this one thing, the building is great. Our neighbors were looking for a shed and after seeing ours, they bought one as well.

The sheds have molded sections for optional barrel bolts to be placed. These are optoinal components that may be installed for additional security. A 2.5" barrel bolt can be purchased in various hardware stores. Thanks for choosing Rubbermaid.

Overall like the cabinet. Sturdy and lots of capacity for storage. Only issue is I can't get the doors to align properly no matter how many times I take them off and reset them. They will not close securely without a lock on it to hold them mostly shut. They never shut completely.

Excellant shed.
My son installed this shed in 6 hours by himself. Amazingly well built. Far surpasses the previous sheds I've had. Looks great and should last for many, many years. Very satisfied with price and quality.

Assembly instructions in wrong order
The deck box itself is ok, but... It took over a month to arrive, top was damaged (deep scrape/scratches) and the instructions were in the wrong order making assembly very challenging. Door hinges should be attached first. After waiting so long for delivery we weren’t going to return it. Recommend purchasing in person.

Very clear instructions and Great engineering
I bought my 7x7 Roughneck to replace a smaller 10-year old Rubbermaid shed that was destroyed by an uprooted hurricane Irma tree. This time I built a platform to ensure a level surface and it makes all the parts go together perfectly. It's easy to do and there are several DIY vids on line. Keep it simple.
Honestly, the hardest part was removing the adhesive film off the Plexiglas for the windows. Seriously, by the fourth surface, 40 minutes later—I finally got the technique, which is to pull off in slow motion. Excruciatingly slow. PLEASE consider the consumer and just use an envelope for the windows. They are only for ambient light and not even clear, so please run this by the product manager. Thanks, other wise awesome Shed!

I love how the video shows two people putting this together. No way and specially not in under 30 minutes. Unl s she you are putting this on concrete that I see perfectly level I would not recommend it.

Thanks for sharing your review of our Roughneck 7x7 Shed!
We apologize for any inconvenience that you've experienced.
This shed is recommended to be installed with 2 individuals. To ensure proper assembly and performance, your storage building needs to be built on a solid, level surface. A concrete or patio surface or a treated-wood platform is recommended. This information is located in the assembly instructions.

Easy little shed for some quick storage space
Used for about a month. I built a platform for the shed to keep door alignment and construction simple. Assembly was straight forward and only took a few hours. As other reviews have noted, the doors won't stay closed and stick out at the top allowing rain and snow into the shed which puddles on the floor. I have been trying to find a latch for the doors which should keep the door tight to the frame. They are mentioned in the manual however I cannot find them for purchase and I need them. I am eager to find them for each door so if anyone knows where to get them let me know please. Other than this, seems to be a nice shed so far.

Very pleased with this shed
Love the shed, perfect size for us and easy to assemble. My only complaint is there is no inside latch (as other reviews have noted) although there is clearly a notch for one over the door. Is there a latch specific to this shed I can purchase separately? Please advise.

Doors Don't Stay Closed. Pop Open
I built a platform for the shed and assembly was pretty straight forward. My wife and I put it together in an afternoon. My only issue I have is that the doors won't stay closed and pop open so everything near the door inside gets wet when it rains. I'm trying to find a latch for one of the doors so I can lock it from the inside before locking the doors together.

Easy assembly and decent quality
So, this isn't a high quality wood shed, but decent quality for plastic. My biggest issue is the molded side walls really limit ability to maximize space through shelving, wall hooks, etc that one would be accustomed to with a wood framed shed. They offer these funky hooks that you can attach stuff to with screws, but in total anything on a wall must hold less than 50 lbs. It is small, don't kid yourself from the pictures that show barely anything in the shed. My goal was to park my John Deere 140 lawn tractor in it but once assembled I decided against that, because I would not be able to store much of anything else (literally if you want this shed to store a riding mower don't plan on storing much else). Instead I chose to put many smaller items from my garage into the shed which would enable easier and less intrusive parking of my lawn mower in the garage.
On to assembly...I honestly don't get it...the reviews others share. Once I built a solid floor from 4x4s, 2x4s, and 3/4" PT plywood, the shed itself took me (alone) 2.5 hours to build. I read the reviews online - lowes.com really helped, and it was a breeze. Water tight, but DEFINITELY not critter tight. I'll need to figure out how to seal this thing up before winter or it will be a mouse haven.
So this review may sound in part negative, but I really don't have a negative opinion about the product hence my 4 stars. I may a conscious decision to buy this shed vs something better built because I was interested in small and inexpensive. Well I got that and would say that for the price, got a really solid shed that will do the trick.

Good value and design
I put 2 of them on crushed stone paver base instead of framing and
plywood. Get the base really level like it was on framing and plywood. Otherwise the last pieces wouldn't fit perfectly. I learned that on the first shed. Just love them..... I see a lot of wooden sheds rotting.

Hard to put together
If you do not have a level and solid platform, it is difficult to insert the bottom to the opening hole and snap it. Uneven surface could cause the panel not horizontal and the screw holes not align which makes impossible to screw the top panel on. There are over a hundred screws that you have to screw on; if you do not have an automatic screw driver or a drill, you will have finger tendinitis before you finish screwing the panels together. Granted I am that handy, it took me and my son with occasional help of a third person more than 10 hours to put it together.
Another problem is the location of the hangers. Supposedly, you can use the hangers to install steel rail for shelving. However, the distance between the upper hanger and lower hanger is off from the standard screw holes on the steel rail, so there is no way to install the shelving unless you drill holes yourself on the steel rails.
Inside the shed can get pretty warm since the panel are thin. It is just a little better than inside a car and I am talking about temperature in San Francisco which rarely go over 70F. I have another shed which I brought 16 years ago, forgot who made it, it was a little bit smaller but that one just snap together with not a single screw and it is double walled with half-inch space between the wall. I put them side by side, the small one is cool inside while Rubber maid is warm.

We apologize for any inconvenience that you've experienced.
A drill and Phillips bit are recommended for assembly to assist in fastening the various screws. Additionally, to ensure proper assembly and performance, we recommend building on a solid level surface. This information is stated in our assembly instructions.

Durable
My used shed came with my house. It's 11 years old. Still water tight. Still sturdy.
A little faded. A little different than the models now. I live in central Florida. During Hurricane Irma I strapped it to the house and it survived 80 mph winds with 115 mph gusts with no damage. I've been a Rubbermaid fan for about 40 years. Always satisfied with their quality.
