Product didn’t work new out of the box. Customer service was terrible. Rheem would send me a new circuit board for their defective product and wanted ME to pay to have it installed in the unit and it MIGHT fix the issue. Returned this and bought a unit for half the price and am very satisfied with it.

this was setup is for one shower only and it can not heat the water. Shocked

Didn’t last 2 years
I had the unit professionally installed after being purchased in Aug 2022, here we are in April 2024 with a non-working unit. Very disappointed Rheem.

Be prepared to work with copper pipe.
The inlet and outlet are 1/2" copper compression fittings. They also include 1/2" NPT adapters, but to make them work you need 1" pieces of copper tube for the ferrule. But DON'T use the adapters. The threads are crap and after six (yes six) iterations of pipe thread and pipe dope, still had leaks. Finally put 2" long copper in the compression fittings and elbows onto the ends.
I have a fairly long run from the heater to the shower, but the temperature eventually stabilizes.

DO NOT BUY
Had for less then (3) years after replacing a tank water heater. Had it setup professionally, had electrician come out first then plumber so I went through all the appropriate steps. All of a sudden water is starting to go cold and getting an E5 error code and nothing had changed with our water pressure. The warranty is a joke. They have the worst customer service, you are on hold for a VERY long time, longer then the IRS and apparently when you call the main Rheem number they tell you its another provider that they outsource this products to so you get a different number that takes forever for someone to pick u.

It needs a lot of power!!!
The pros: Fairly easy to install (if you already have the electric supply ready). Aesthetically beautiful, simple, and small.
The cons: It requires a lot of energy! Like, a lot! It needs 6 gauge wire, which is a very thick wire and hard to work with. It also requires two dedicated 50-amp circuits. If you don’t have those, it will not work!

If a customer is ever considering installing one Rheem advises to survey their homes electrical/main breaker box to ensure it can handle it or if modification is needed.

Not what I expected. It can't handle the volume of water my well delivers.about a month. It required too much extra wiring compared to the traditional waterheater.

Mine died after almost no use! Cust. Ser bad.
Bought new, used about a week. Left the country for 3 months. Came back, unit would not work. Customer service wanted me to test and replace parts!!

We love not keeping a tank of water hot out in the garage all day and night! We changed out the big tank for this wonderful tankless. It provides plenty of nice hot water instantly and only when we need it! Great energy saver!

Poor warranty, died after 3 years
This product died after only a few years. I will never buy it again. Water heaters should have a better warranty and/or made higher quality. This product is a joke.
