Havent had to try it yet but it looks like its sturdy and sealed well

In my opinion, the box should be larger to allow for easier wiring; its almost too small/is too small for #8. The wire knock outs should be immediately behind the wire connector terminals. The ground lug should be beefier, mine wouldn't hold the ground wire in place and subsequently the lug was striped. The mounting holes should be on the exterior on flanges.

Installed as advertised.

No complaints or problems noted.

Solid 30 amp generator plug receptacle

The wire receptacle holes don't hold the wires in securely. I am an engineer and to be honest, I don't even understand how this design could possibly be effective. The screws for each wire hole, designed to tighten, just glance the side of the wire and do nothing else to secure the wire in the hole! The ground wire connector is made from such cheap metal that the ground wire to the cover broke, just from carefully hanging the cover from the box during installation. JUNK.

I did see another review at another store with this same complaint. Apparently the cords occasionally will not turn and lock in place (at least not by hand). I found that I could use a pair of channel locks to turn it and that does help to lock the cord in. After three weeks trying, it still cant be done by hand although it is getting better. Over-all this is a good product for the price, but be aware that you will have to "break it in".
