These stones wear out within 60 seconds of use. I discontinued use after the first one wore completely away on the third cutter. They are too soft for all but the tiniest of chains and even then should be reserved for wood or plastics. Marketing aside, these are laughably inadequate for sharpening.

Does the job, but these stones do NOT survive first contact.
The stones do a wonderful job,,,,,at first. Well over 70% of the stones break after getting through 1/2 of a blade or less. The price would be fair if not for the fragility of the stones. It's a gamble each time you purchase a pack, and I'm always cringing in anticipation of the top half of the stone flying across the garage. The first time I bought a pack, I thought maybe I was using the stones wrong or had lost the stone lottery. After giving these stones a second, third, fourth, and yes I admit fifth try I became convinced that the hand file is the best solution. Other (larger) stones hold up well and I still routinely use them. The 7/32in however, is a must pass for me.
