I would not buy this product again
The raisins in the blend are large and sticky causing seeds stuck in bird feeder. I had to hand-pick them out.

Good seed... with A LOT of useless weight.
The seed, nut, and fruit quality seems to be really good. Having said that, there is a TON of stems, wood pieces, etc., etc., that is included in the bag. The included photo is just the amount of useless fillers that I pulled out of just one refill of my bird feeder... imagine how many pounds of useless fillers are in the entire bag!

We live in West Central Florida and we feed year 'round with Pennington Ultimate Songbird Food. We've attracted Cardinals, Blue Jays, House Finches, Doves, Titmice, and Woodpeckers. The Woodpeckers prefer our suet, but they will take an occasional peanut from the Songbird Food. One 7-lb bag will last us about a month. I like that it's vitamin and mineral enriched (A, D-3, potassium).

When you live back in the middle of acres of woods like we do this Pennington Ultimate Songbird Food is a big hit with the wild birds. It is also apparently a big hit with the abundant little fury forest creatures being our squirrels. The good thing is that they all love the bird seed and share it alike. Surprisingly as the picture depicts on the bag of bird food, it does in fact attract our official Maryland bird being the Cardinal.

I have been holding off on submitting a review on this bird seed because so far, the birds aren't eating it. I think we may have a later than normal bird activity this year. I set out seed in a coco liner 2 days ago and had put some directly on the concrete, well over a week ago. It is still there! No birds, no squirrels. Very strange. This looks like a good mix of nuts and seeds. I will update this review if I finally get some activity.

Pennington ultimate songbird food appears to be a great songbird mix attracting cardinals, finches, doves and sparrows to the backyard feeder. It is a mix of black oil sunflower, safflower seed, striped sunflower, peanuts, dried cherries along with a vitamin D-3 supplement. My wife and I have enjoyed watching the birds come to our feeder this spring.

Sunflower, Cardinal, magnet. The cardinal family of birds really seem to love this mix of feed and come ritually throughout the day. There is little mess left after the feeder is emptied (after about a week) and many of the fallen seeds are snatched up by small fowl and even doves which frequent. Even after visiting fowl scour the area spouts and shoots still manage to spring up within the feeding area.

This mix is okay but not great. Had less birds come to the feeder that my regular mix. I don't know if the larger seeds kept the feed from moving down, but didn't seem to be of special attractiveness to the birds. There was not much change than just black sunflower seeds with regards to songbirds. I personally do not think it is worth the extra money and will go back to what I was using.

This is way more popular of a birdseed than what I was previously using. A lot of Cardinals and Blue Jays. This has a higher amount of sunflower seeds and an extra I haven't deployed is the peanuts. I have also have noticed new species of birds at the feeder. I work from home, so I really enjoy watching the birds from our picture window. My kids have started calling me "the bird man". I take it as a compliment.

My husbands combines this song bird seed with a fruit and nut blend and black oil sunflower seeds. The birds really seem to enjoy this and that's why I'm guessing he needs to fill the feeders almost every day. There are so many more birds eating from the feeders than ever before. The yard has become a bird sanctuary for our feathered friends. It's wonderful to watch them feeding in the morning while we eat breakfast.
