Yeah.... Clearance.
Local HD had this product on special (about $12 rather than about $15 list) - even had an aisle display. Took it home, put it in place, followed instructions exactly. Nothing. I'm guessing this was last year's product... and also guessing it was killed by freezing, exposure, heat, whatever. Not a good buy. Not up to my expectations of Home Depot either.

Great product...seemed a little short on the amount in the package
Great product easy to use. The only reservation I have concerns the amount of product in the package. Seemed to be about half full. Maybe this particular bag was short due to a packaging error.

Poor
I followed the instructions to a T, kept them watered and nothing grew. I ended up having to sod the area.

Overpriced and overall useless.
I purchased this because I'm seeding a new lawn. The product did not go through the broadcast spreader, nor did it cover even 125 sq ft. when laid down at 1/8th of an inch. Very disappointed in the product.

Product did not work
It's been over 3 weeks and water twice a day and zero growth. I will be going back to the store and asking for my money back. I should have used Scott's seed

Trust the negative reviews!
Just like you I thought, "How could a product be this bad if it's guaranteed to grow?" I had previously used Scotts EZ Seed in the front yard with pretty good results, and this brand should be just as good as the Scotts, only less expensive, right? Well, that should have been red flag number one. I went ahead and purchased six bags form my local Home Depot to seed my newly-tilled and prepped back yard, and got exactly what I deserved for ignoring the reviews--absolutely nothing. I immediately noticed the bright green seed mixture did not absorb water and puff up like the Scotts EZ Seed (red flag number two). It quickly discolored on the ground, leaving what appeared to be pale green recycled newspaper pulp (I even found an "a" printed in Times New Roman font in the mix--no kidding). I read the directions very carefully and followed them to the letter (again, I had good results with the Scotts EZ Seed a month earlier with similar directions). Three weeks and plenty of water later, there were numerous clumps of faded green seed mix on the ground that showed no signs of life. I even picked some up and mashed it in my fingers hoping to find some preemie grass growing, but it was barren. The bottom line? Trust the negative reviews! Buy another brand (Scotts EZ Seed if you want to go the simple route) or just roll up your sleeves and till, seed and cover with soil using the traditional method.

Didn't work at all.
It looked like green lint on the ground. Never took to the ground to grow.

    Inexpensive, easy to use
I purchased this seed mix instead of a more expensive product and it works very well

    Works Great
Seed grows quickley with minimal effort. Spread the seed and sprinkled top soil over, water a bit more than usual, and within just short of a week saw new growth.

    Very good luck
I purchased the scotts ez seed and followed the instructions exactly. I got very poor results. I was talking to Don in the store as he was working the grass seed aisle and he suggested the 1 Step. While I was skeptical because he worked for them, I tried it and now have a great lawn. I am DEFINITELY going to stick with this brand. Thank You

    Bermuda Grass Seed
In response to all of you that hate this product … I planted, seeded, last year and will be over-seeding this year. If all else fails, READ DIRECTIONS. Bermuda seed needs to germinate at an average temperature of 70 degrees or above. I live in Central Florida and have not over-seeded yet, too cold. Hopefully the temperature will kick up and I will over-seed and fill in but to date it has been too cold. I’ll over-seed with Pennington Sahara Bermuda and use this mix for brown and bare spots. I've had the seed for about two weeks but KNOW with this temperature the germination will be poor. The reason you are having problems is that it’s too cool that's why it says to plant in late spring and through the summer. I’m still waiting!!

    3 weeks no grass
Prepared surface as instructions stated. I even used starter fertilizer, added topsoil, roto tilled to a depth of 12 inches. Great amended soil and no grass three weeks later in full sun and partial shaded area. Would not recommend.

Dont waste your time and money
I bought two bags.Followed all instructions and 3 weeks after, the grass is to be seen. I got yesterday 1 pallet of some real sod which is what I would advise you to do if you are considering buying this product.Expensive and useless, not what Im used to at Home Depot.

      never took/ no sprouts
raked and prepared the area, bought 2 bags of the seeding mix, watered as instructed, but I believe the shade does not allow enough sunlight for the seeding mixture to take hold as i still have a large swath of dark earth and no grass. Back to sod I guess.

Easy grass seed that didn't produce well.
I've never had much luck at growing a nice lawn, so I debated between the easy varieties of Pennington and Scotts. Seeing as both claim to virtually on anything, I went with the Pennington. I watered vigorously for about 10-12 days with virtually no results. I've decided to endure the remainder of this year with ugly, patchy grass. And then, buy sod next spring, if affordable. Wish me luck, Thanks

      didn't grow
We sprinkled it pretty thickly, since our new home had no grass when we moved in and even bought a second bag, to be sure we had enough. Although we raked up leaves and gave the dirt a hard raking before spreading the seed and watering it regularly, it didn't grow, just staying bright green from the granuals. After a few weeks, we had a hard rain and most of it washed off of our yard, down to the street.

      No Grass Yet
This product is guaranteed to grow grass and so far I don't see any. It has only been 1 weeks so hopefully something will come up.

      Slow to start growth.
Took 21 day to germinate in AZ sun with watering 3-4 times a day. A little sticky out of bag to spread evenly by hand. Growing well after 6 weeks.

Grass has not sprouted after 3 weeks and daily watering.
Even after daily watering, the grass seed has not sprouted. Next time I will buy sod.
