Shelves were made out of sturdy material but the connectors on the poles where the shelves laid were made out of plastic. Terrible. Do not buy. Unsteady and a piece of junk.

Easy to assemble. Holding up fine so far. I don’t know that I’d describe it as HEAVY DUTY. Good for ‘on the hanger items’ like shirts and dresses. The pole is kinda skimpy for heavy winter stuff-which is why I purchased it.
