This recipe box will be used and enjoyed for a long time. I gave it to my 27 y/o and their 25 y/o friend as a, "leaving home but taking home with them" gifts.

well built QUALITY ITEM

This box is beautiful! I really like it! I unfortunately dropped it and the lid loosened and came off. I found that it was held on by just 3 teeny tiny pieces of wire, not sure whether they might be called pins, but they were not screws or nails. They were fragile, very bendable, and I was not able to secure the lid back on with those pins. So I used a very small gold nail on each end to re-secure. In that process I did learn that bamboo wood is very hard! But the repair was successful! I have a hunch those tiny pins holding the lid on might have loosened with use anyway, so I believe the box is much sturdier now with the nails. As other reviewers mentioned, there are seams on the box that are glued. One of those loosened also, but so far it’s not so much that I need to repair it. The lid has a small magnet to keep it closed and I like that! It could be helpful to have a knob or handle or notch of some sort to grasp to open it. The lid was aligned so perfectly and tightly that I could only open with using my fingernail along where the lid met the box. Since dropping and repairing, the lid now does not align quite so perfectly, which actually makes it much easier to grasp it to open! The clear plastic card holder does not stand up in the groove. Apparently the groove is not narrow enough to hold it upright. That’s ok for me though, I did not envision myself using that feature. I can still nicely use the card holder, but just have it on the table or counter.

Good quality. The lid was just a bit off of alignment so it wasn't 100% lined up with the bottom.

The box is large and has dividers (no breakfast divider?) for different meals and a clear view stand and groove to insert your recipe so it stands and is easy to read! However, the back of the box fell off almost immediately and I had to wood glue and clamp it back together so the back wouldn’t fall off every time I opened it.

The quality is ok— the wood is already splitting. Maybe I just got a bad box.

These recipe boxes are very nice!!! I love the clear card holder that slides onto top of box to protect recipe from spills and splashes while cooking. Highly recommend!!! Look nice on any counter and works with any decor!!! I bought 7 of them as Christmas presents.

Basic box, but really like the slot on top to hold recipes in a protected plastic holder. Purchased blank index cards separately to print/organize all family recipes. Bought 3 for adult grandchildren to give as Christmas presents, adding monograms on the front to dress it up and make it more personal. Also purchased other dividers, as these don't have the categories that we prefer. Overall, a decent box, albeit light weight. I am curious whether the plastic holder, if broken, can be purchased separately.

Arrived on time and packaged well. Exactly as described and we are very pleased with our selection.

Simple and sturdy. Plenty of room. Just what I wanted. I haven’t used the plastic holder yet but I like the idea of it. I do wish there were a few blank divider cards so you could enter your own category, but you can always put a label over one you don’t use. Overall good product.

Great product! Love the slip at the top to put the recipe in and the plastic sleeve to keep it clean. Great idea! The only thing I was surprise was it is bigger than I was expecting, so be sure and look at the size.

Product arrived in separate pieces. Enclosed warranty statement referenced assembly instructions but there were none. Would have required wood glue to hold sections. There was no reference to assembly in product description or previous comments. Will be returning for refund.

GOT THIS OUT OF SHIPPING BOX, THEN FROM OCEANSTAR BOX TO WRAP IT FOR CHRISTMAS & IT FELL COMPLETELY APART! IT WAS AS IF THEY HAD PIECED IT TOGETHER BUT FORGOT TO GLUE IT . SO SAD

It broke when I opened it.

Well made. Smooth bamboo. Recipe card holder on top is handy. Has a magnet (?) on the lid, but it doesn’t help keep it closed. I’m returning simply because I also ordered the Ironwood box & prefer its look (acacia wood) over the bamboo.

A wooden box is much more durable and "wearable" than metal or plastic. I purchased it as a gift and the receiver was thrilled.

Great quality. Had it inscribed for my daughter in laws birthday. Something she will treasure and pass down to her daughter one day.

I was surprised to find the acrylic card holder that goes on top so you can read you recipe without getting the card messy. A really nice additional touch. The box is beautiful. I’d buy it again.

I am very pleased with the bamboo recipe box. It holds your recipe card on top and has a nice protective sleeve so the card does not get dirty. Love it!!
