I purchased this tool from Home Depot online. After moderate use the switch failed in one year. I rarely even use the switch because I have it mounted in table with external switch. After disassembly I could see that the unsealed switch was packed with dust! Give me a break! Who specified an unsealed switch in a router? I always buy Milwaukee when I can, but this experience has my questioning that habit.

Superlative Router Combo
Just Installed my new Milwaukee 5625l-20 into my new Incra Router lift. The pair are an awesome combination. After a little fine tuning, I can report they perform up and even exceed expectations. I have reduced setup time and production time and increased the accuracy of my cuts. I highly recommend both products. The Home Depot price for the router is the best around!

I loved everything about the router BUT every time you put a load on the motor the electronics would kick off. I would have to turn the switch off then on to resume working.

I bought this to fit a router table. The diameter was smaller than listed in the description. The fine adjustment knob interferes with the router table as well. I had to modify the tool to get it to work. Once modified it works alright. I haven’t used it enough to know. It made a mess out of a tight schedule by having so many mounting issues. Disappointed with Milwaukee Tools for not being accurate in their description.

This Router is extremely powerful. I’ve been planing slabs for live edge tables and I’m glad I took the plunge on this one. My first two routers tended to bog down and overload, not this one. Best features: it’s got a soft start, variable speed analog dial, 8 foot power cord, and a fine depth adjustment knob for accurately calibrated cuts.
If you’re looking for a powerful router for planing slabs, this is the best bet.

Purchased this router last month because my 1 3/4 hp router could not handle the T&G bits on 15/16 Ash Flooring without losing speed and power. This 3 1/2 hp Milwaukee handled the large bits amazingly well, and cut the T&G edges in short order. Love the height adjustment from above the table feature and the dial a speed feature as well! Pricey, but well worth the investment!!

No good
I am a part time cabinet maker. So the router has never seen "Heavy duty" use. Just making face frames, box parts, and trim. I've had this router in to the shop 3 times because it works for a couple months, and then just will not start. flipped the switch 40 times and still nothing. Tried different outlets, cords, etc. nothing. I am getting away from Milwaukee tools. Their quality has gone to crap.

Not Recommended - Not Heavy Duty
I’m a woodworker by night and a welder by day so I’ve seen my fair share of tools being used and abused and Milwaukee always seems up to the task. Not this router. It seems like anything over a quarter load on the motor shuts it off. I can’t make a pass of 24” on my router sled without it shutting off. Hardwoods, softwoods, doesn’t matter. This router is the furthest thing from heavy duty. I would recommend steering clear of this router even for hobbyists wood workers, let alone professionals. I had high hopes for this machine but was severely let down. Will be going in a different direction for my routing needs.

Nice machine, NOT heavy duty..
I’m a furniture maker and I bought this machine specifically for the variable speed and high horsepower. Within an hour of taking it out of the box and using it for the first time it began to shut off in the middle of a cut. The motor was not hot.. I would have to wait a few minutes, start it again and continue my cut, which would last for less than 30 seconds before it would shut off again, and then I have to repeat the process. It does not do this with light cuts, only heavy cuts. So why is it marketed as “heavy duty”? I have a variable speed Makita with half the horsepower that runs no matter what. When the Milwaukee is running it’s a great machine, but there is something wrong with the electronic load sensors. I would really appreciate if Milwaukee would fix the shutoff issue and send us all new machines that actually run.

It’s too early to give a thorough review. I had to shim it to fit my Rockler router lift system. I’ll decide after using it more. I only use it when needed and that’s not very often.
