The base of the light is thin plastic — we lost 2 when the weight of the SNOW snapped the tops off and two more when they were bumped into. They look nice. But once the base cracks, and that is really easy to do, there’s no fixing it. A huge waste of money

These are really nice looking lights, and actually do appear to be significantly brighter than my current set of solar walkway lights. My existing lights are also Hampton Bay products, and I have been pleased with the brand quality - the existing set has held up well over the past 2 or 3 years, and the quality of the new set seems to be equal or better than that of the existing set. The housing and mounting hardware are plastic (with a distressed bronze color finish); the lens is definitely glass, and creates a very nice, prismatic pattern when on. The battery is replaceable (as with my existing lights), and the LED bulbs are very long lasting in general. Overall, I am very pleased with the performance and appearance of these lights.

This 4 pack was an excellent buy - at 10 lumens with hammered glass this is a quality solar yard light. Assembly was easy, twist to remove top cover, pull tab out to activate battery, twist top on, insert rod and stake. The light is 3000K Warm White, dimensions are 5.9 inches wide and 13 inches tall above the ground after the stake is in the soil

The units come tightly packaged in a small box. Each unit has a rechargeable battery that is activated when you pull the paper off of the unit. Installation is about as simple as it gets. Space out the stakes, stomp them down or use a rubber mallet, then put the base on and then the light. The lights twist on to secure themselves. During late winter, our lights lasted about 8 hours based on sunlight from the winter day. Not too bad. As the charge weakens, the light diminishes. Overall, we love these accent lights.

These path lights are great! They are very easy to assemble and install because everything is self contained and they are solar powered, so no wiring is needed! The batteries are already installed and the lights are already mostly assembled. You just have to twist the cover off (the cover has the small solar panel on it) and then remove the thin plastic packaging piece that's keeping the battery from draining. If you do this inside, the tiny LED will probably turn on, confirming that it works. As soon as you bring them outside in daylight (not even direct sunlight, just outside in general during daylight hours), the light will turn off, which it should. The light turns on automatically at dusk and will provide enough light to see your path. The only assembly required is installing the stakes on each light, which is so easy, anyone can do it! The stakes are plastic, so the only problem you'll have is sticking them in the ground if you have very solid ground. Usually, you can just pour some water on the ground to soften it up and then drive the stake down into the ground with your hands. The glass is solid, but the chrome reflector is loose inside the light and the rest is plastic, so you should be careful with them so they don't break. Not sure how they will hold up over time, but the manufacturer does recommend replacing the batteries every 3 years or when the lights stop working.

These solar lights look wonderful and work great going around my driveway! Easy to install, perfect amount of light given, and creates a beautiful "light ray" pattern. After the first sets looked great, I went back to Home Depot and bought a couple more sets to finish off the entire driveway. You can get less expensive solar lights (which I have tried), but you don't get nearly the quality, look and brightness that these lights give. You will not regret purchasing this item!

These lights are nice and I would recommend them!!! They are big and bright and just what I was looking for!! they were more expensive then the previous lights I purchased, but it was so worth the money.

I read a lot of reviews and expected these lights to "wow" me. They haven't. One of the 8 I bought hasn't worked since night 3 even though it is is in full sun - I have had these a week. Also, they worked all night the first night until 630 am when I left for work, but have come nowhere near that since night 3. They have also noticeably dimmed over the course of the week. Finally, these are still too cool of a color for me. Haven't found a set of solar lights yet that comes close to the warmth of regular electrical lights. I'm repositioning tonight to place closer together to see if I get enough light to keep, otherwise I get to enjoy pulling them all up and washing them off so I can return them - yay me.

Very, very nice solar lights. Out of the box these lights look nice with the bronze finish - a perfect complement to the bronze lights on the outside of the house. Being solar lights I was a bit weary these would appear cheap - but that is absolutely not the case. While they look great during the day, at night they really shine! The hammered glass gives that "sparkly" feel which makes the lights look like much more expensive, hard-wired lights. While I was also weary that the hammered glass would reduce the actual light emitted, I've found these actually produce quite a bit of light, more than enough to illuminate my walkway. Installation could not be easier - just stick them in the ground and you are done. So far (its summer in New England) the lights have had no problem staying illuminated until morning. I absolutely love these lights!!

These lights have a great mission style design. The solar panels are integrated in the top and don't take away from the look. The LED light is bright and white, but not so white it looks blue like some small LED lights. They add to the ambiance of the garden without having to run wires and these look better than any of the 12volt lights available. I put the quality as average because the housing is thin plastic but it holds the heavy glass lens. I don't know if it last. I had a different version of solar light that had a metal housing, it lasted a long time, but the paint peeled. I have not owned this new one long enough to be sure it can stand up to the Southern Californian sun without UV damage.

Ok, this is a "2 for 1" review :) I purchased a pack of 4 of these lights about 2 years ago and then this pack of 4 came up available so I grabbed at them. Here is why: In the world of solar path lights (and to say I've tried and have had several over the years, is an understatement....well....) these are the best you'll ever have. Why? First, the sheer size of them...fairly large in comparison to most path lights. They are top quality and the appearance is steller! They shine brighter than any solar path light you'll ever have. My first batch has gone through hail, several feet of snow, several tons of rain, wind, you name it....still look and work like new. I don't know what else to say but if you are looking for a really nice looking (expensive look, really), good quality path light....this is it!!! I'd give it 10 stars if I could :)

Hampton Bay produces great solar lights. Mix and match different styles to produce a stunning shower of lighting in your yard and gardens. Thick and newly designed anchoring spikes that do not disappear into the ground. This allows for easy movement of the lights for a change in look.

These are a little pricey but you get what you pay for. They look EXCELLENT, and I've had no issues with them not lighting, like some other brands. They are great quality, minus the plastic stake, and are pretty bright and light up our driveway nicely. Do your research when considering buying solar lights. I highly recommend this brand and model.

I spent $420 two years ago on these beautiful solar lights, in the past six months the connection from the bottom of the light to the stake has broken off multiple lights. It turns out the lights cannot withstand the Arizona sun. So disappointed that these are sold in this area. I had these same lights in IL and never had an issue with them.

The Hampton Bay Solar lights are expertly designed to give a beautiful look to one's pathway, and the light that is produced by them is excellent.
