"Dear Valued Home Depot Customer, We have reached out to the manufacturer and their reply is, Thank you for your review. The original version of these lights were rated at 5000K. The product was updated years ago to blend better with most landscape lighting at 3000K. The lights should function for the same amount of time if allowed to charge in full sunlight for 8-10 hours per day. If your lights are not staying lit, please check that they are located in an area that receives full sunlight during the day and that the lights have fresh batteries. The lights should be allowed to charge and discharge a few times to allow the batteries to reach full charge capacity."

Please make sure the lights are located in an area that receives full sunlight for at least 8 hours during the day to allow the lights to charge. The batteries included with the lights are partially charged for shipment, but should be allowed to cycle through charging and discharging cycles 8-12 times to allow the batteries to reach full charge capacity. Once the batteries reach full charge capacity, they will last through the night. If you feel the lights are not operating properly, please call Hampton Bay customer service at 1-855-434-2678 and one of the team members will be able to troubleshoot and resolve the issue. When fully charged, the lights produce a decorative 10 lumen light output. If you are looking for very bright light output, we would suggest considering low-voltage lighting which offers increased light output since the function using electricity instead of batteries."
