I love it the kids love it and if the clothes could talk they would say they love it too. The features are great. The heat this monster creates is great..The clothes dry super fast and are so crisp..Maytag Thank you for this dryer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very happy with this gas dryer -- it's QUIET & has a lot of settings - light on inside helps when removing clothing - the only problem I have is that the control knobs are near the top and I'm very short and the dryer is stacked on the washer -- I have to use a small stool to see and use the controls but it's a very minor inconvenience as all other aspects of the dryer are great.

I have been using this dryer almost three months as a stack up (on top of the washer) because of limited space. I was so relieved when I found this dryer is quiet. I placed a noise reducing pad on top of the washer but I'm not sure how much that helps. Noise was my main concern and that part is satisfying. The Quality of dried clothes has not disappointed me, either.

Does a great job and I have a new laundry room- only one problem and it's small. The lights for the panel to see the setting do not show well when this is stacked. I love the stacked feature bur must use a step stool to see which setting to use if I'm not using the usual setting.

Though this dryer was not on a leading Consumer organization's recommended list, it matched the washing machine and still reviewed favorably. Our experience so far is similar to that of what other positive reviewers have shared so I won't repeat what others have written here. We like the fact that it has a child lock on the control panel. With twin toddlers that love to do everything they are told not to do, it is the bulwark between one sibling trying to dry roast the other. I swear they would do it too if they could. I like the the gradual on and off of the drum light. I did not know that technology now allows LEDs to dim. None-the-less, they are pretty dim when fully on. A 40 watt incandescent provides more illumination if technically the same lumen output. I've seen manufacturer's claims about lumen output. Well numbers and graphs on paper do not over ride my experience. If I cannot see well because the space is poorly lit, then I cannot see well period. It, unlike the old gas furnace it replaced, which itself was an HE appliance from 2008, uses less gas as measured by the temperature of the dryer vent. With the old appliance the dryer vent was hot to the touch during operation, more than 100 F. This one stayed cool during testing. It lead me to believe there was some sort of failure. After the dry cycle finished, the clothes were warm and dry. So that indicates to me that it is extracting the maximum amount of energy from the therms I am buying to feed it. I also like the fact that I can over ride the energy saving features and run it it wide open throttle if I need something dry as soon as possible. I also like the fact that it monitors dryer vent back pressure and lint screen air resistance. I would rather know in advance of a problem that there is a build up lint in the vent that needs to be removed that risk a vent fire. We withheld a star because, like its washer twin, there is no way to permanently mute the musical tone it plays when turning it on or off. Unlike its twin, the user can cancel the cycle signal, but the on and off tones are always on and very loud. I like to do laundry during their nap time and this interrupts that. The dryer itself is pretty loud during operation, more justification to withhold a star. I don't ever recall hearing the old dryer running, ambient noise in the house always seemed to drown it out. Right now, while composing this review, it just finished its cycle and suddenly the house seems quiet and my ears are a little numb. IT is 40' away in a washer/dryer closet whose opening faces away from my position. Maybe later I will edit this review and provide a decibel measurement.

The dryer is efficient, quiet, and has all the features I wanted

I decided to stack the machines. The basement is still the same old grotto, but the machines work like magic and glow in the gloom!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had this dryer for a few years now. Dryer worked fine intil recently My Maytag gas dryer developed a horrible squealing noise when in use. I took the dryer apart, cleaned and lubed all bearings and it still squeals. Maytag’s dryer is very misleading because plastered on the front is a large non removable badge which says “ 10 Year Warranty”.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this over 6 years ago and have been very pleased with it. I have had no mechanical issues with it. The only problem I do have is the dryer vent - you can pull it out and take the lint off but a lot of it falls into the bottom of the lint area and it's VERY hard to clean out. I use my refrigerator wire brush coil cleaner to try to get out some of the lint but it won't get it all. I have also used my vacume to clean some out but the attachment isn't small or thin enough to get it all. It would be great if it was easier to clean. I worry that this might be a fire hazard.

Noisy, gets too hot, shrinks clothes, aside from looking nice there isn”t much going for it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far the Maytag Maxima Gas Dryer is everything the salesperson said it would be. The capacity of the dryer is the largest so far, the quiet operating of the dryer is a blessing and the features are all a person could ask for and more. I bought the additional pedestal base and at my age it saves a lot of bending. I have had 2 Maytag washers and they have performed well for me. I expect the dryer to be a comploiment to the washer.

There are lots of cycles and don't take forever to run. I'm sticking with Maytag for my future purchases.

Often things get hung up on the blades in the washer. Otherwise, my clothes come out wonderful. I love Maytag and would not use another washer and dryer. Maybe next time I would buy top loading type.
