Great for indoors
I purchased this planter specifically to grow basil year round. I live in an area that has changing seasons. I grew the basil from seed. See the attached pic. The basil is doing so well that it needs to be trimmed every week! As per the instructions, I added packing peanuts in the bottom of the middle section to keep soil from dropping to the very bottom and to allow the roots to push through to reach the water in the bottom of the planter.

Look awesome on my patio...
These planters (I bought 2) are gorgeous. They add a bit of elegance to my otherwise plain planters. I would definitely recommend. In fact, I am thinking about buying some additional styles of the Mayne planters to add to my patio.

Nice planters. Look regal, will hold real or fake plants and I used bark chips to fill them up to give a nice lightweight filler above the plant plate inside.

It is also important to note that when using any of our "tall" planters that use the "tray" system that lightweight fillers like Styrofoam, lightweight pine bark mulch, vermiculite or pearlite are recommended to reduce the overall weight placed on the tray to prevent collapse and bulging. Nice planter
Very nice and lightweight. Only one draw back it that the inside tray that allows you to drop a pot on the inside is too low for pots. Had to put a paver brick inside to prop my pot up to make it flush with top of planter.

Thank you for taking the time to review. The trays can also be flipped upside down to create a raised platform for a potted plant. Similar to the removal, a little extra force may be needed to drop the tray back into position.
Don't be afraid to use as much force as needed to get the tray to pop out of place, the tray will bend and flex around the walls of the planter and this is fine. The material is extremely durable and you will not damage it at all by doing this. If you have any other concerns you can always reach out to customerservice@gomayne.com. We are happy to help!
