We have had this Mastercool ADA71 for about a month, and it performs really well and cools the whole house. I also bought the Masterstat thermostat, which works great. Initially, I was going to have it installed, but they were going to use angle iron vertical supports; which seemed wrong for this unit, since it has thinner metal sides. So, we took the cooler apart and rented out a large scissor jack to get the parts on the roof. I built a support structure using 2x6 redwood, secured the bottom plate on top of that, then installed the blower, and then the rest of the unit. It is really secure and easy to access for maintenance.

The cooler was very easy to install. It is made better and has an extra lining for the water to sit in, so hopfully the bottom won't fall out like the last on did. The tumbler or bird cage seems more stout and sturdy. Less noise and the housing is easy on the eyes.

Last year 6-15-12 I bought the master cool model ADA51. Had it installed by a licensed contractor, this year April 2013 went to start it up for spring, and discovered the wheel on the blower had come apart and was making a terrible noise. Essick Air, was quickly responsive to my request for warranty for the defective part, requiring submittal of documentation of the problem, and proof of purchase. I had excellent documentation thanks to my contractor; however the labor to replace the defective part was not covered under their warranty and I had to pay to have the defective part replaced. The cooler was purchased for my parents who are in their late 70’s, we selected the Master Cool because we thought it was a quality item and would only need routine maintenance for some years. However we incurred a substantial repair bill replacing the poorly welded squirrel cage not even 1 year after purchase needless to say I was highly disappointed and clearly made an error in assuming Master Cool was quality well made product.

Champion could make their product much nicer with some quality control. Two main items i would recommend, have your production people understand that most to all applications require the use of a leg kit, therefore dont put the sheet metal screws that hold the cabint together right where the legs go! The other item would be to locate the overflow somewhere to one of the sides so you can see the water level. Otherwise a good product once you do some tweaking.

We just had the unit installed yesterday. We’re very happy with the unit itself, however, it arrived with a small dent on one of the sides. The installer had to actually repair that, because he said air would’ve escaped. He fixed the dent and reinforce that area. Looking forward to a cooler house this summer.

The unit was a major upgrade from the 10-year old unit previously on the roof. It's heavy but two of us were able to get it on the roof and into position. Unit is relatively quiet and it was easy to install the motor, pulley, and pump. We installed it at the end of October so it hasn't been tested in the summer. For the few days of 90° weather we had, it worked like a charm with the 1/2 power motor we had from the prior unit. I have a 1 HP motor ready to go for when summer roles back around.

bad design leaks from the wet section with no appearant cause. But hey if I want to take it back I would have to Uninstall it from the roof.

Master cool wroks great--for some reason at night when I wake up it is on vent and not cool. That has to do with the thermostat control and possible the human using it. Great product would buy again

This cooler works very well. It was fairly easy to install. The hook up was straight forward since it was replacing an older cooler. It runs smoother than the old cooler and time will tell if it will last as long.

It was the wrong cooler. It showed on line as a downdraft but when we got there to pick it up it was a side draft. Kept trying to re-order but it was never fixed in your system like they said they would. Ended up buying from a different source.

Great product! So glad we did not seek a 2nd mortgage for refrigerated air! This unit cools our entire first floor with 16-foot-tall ceilings!

The fan rattles during low speed operation. No rattling occurs during high speed operation.

Replaced my 23 year old CoolMaster, all coolers are now made my same mfg in TX.

I've installed many of these coolers over the years. Everytime they work just as they are supposed to. I have only received one repeat conplaico for all customer's. "The smell of glue for the first few days) but after that everyone is happy. After installing this last one, the cooler took the 88° home to 68° in less than 3hrs. Thank you mastercool and home Depot.

We are on our 4th Mastercool in 30 years and appreciate the performance over the longevity. HD coordinated our last replacement and it went smoothly @ $300. This one, not so much. The new contractor offered to replace the unit for $2600! I declined the offer and found someone else for $500 plus the cost of the unit. The new unit has an odd smell which I was told is a result of the coating on the medium and should go away eventually.

I'm glad I went with the larger size. The unit is quiet and, so far, is keeping my house cool. Since I don't have it hooked up to a thermostat yet and have used only the low cool setting, my house is staying around 72 degrees even when it's a little over 100 out right now.

Easy to install

A little hard to put up. Not made as good as I thought it would be. Works great.

Excellent design and quality. Need to purchase handles for access panels or you will be beating on them and prying them open with a screwdriver.

Keeps our shop much cooler than our last 4 panel cooler.

Very pleased with this purchase .The product is well made and performs as advertised.

As this was installed after the season was over, it is difficult to evaluate actual use because there has not been any use yet. Installation went well to the best of my knowledge as it was professionaly installed. Unit looks good and I anticipate good results. Store personnel were excellent in helping with the purchase of this unit and the followup after it arrived. Worked with three employees in Customer Service and I would rate all of them Very Good. My compliments.
