Good product as described.

Very easy to adjust the height needed between the door knob and the floor. It's very strong and stays in place on the carpet. I sleep much better now!

I bought one, works well for sometime. Then the single ( may have worked better if there were two) spring/clip holding the push button in the hole gets wewk and does not hold. I called MASTERLOCK and they sent me a replacement. After 2 yrs, same thing happened again.

easy to use and VERY sturdy and secure. i like having the extra security.

Already to use from the box. Easy to use on doors and or sliding doors. Love it. I feel safe with it.

This product is simple to install and adds a little peace of mind!

Master Lock 265D This was very easy to set up, adjust and use nightly, we bought one for our front and garage entryway doors. In these crazy times of a pandemic, and jails and prisons letting so-called “non-violent” offenders out, security is peace of mind. I thought this was a great idea, upon arrival we found it to be built very well and sturdy in design.

I love this product. It has my back steel door so secured that we can't even turn the knob from the inside. It makes me feel so secure at all times....

Heavy duty construction works great for securing my exterior french doors.

The Good: Both assembly and installation of this bar are simple and fast. You can easily adjust the length so it will sit at the proper angle between your doorknob and the floor, no matter how low or high your door handle is. The bar is made of heavy duty cast aluminum, so assuming that the bar is properly installed it will not bend or break under pressure and is plenty sturdy enough to prevent someone from kicking in your door. The Bad: The “foot” that rests against the floor is made of a hard plastic that tends to slip easily on hard wood, tile, or concrete floors. Although the hard plastic foot works perfectly on carpet, I am not 100% confident that it will work on my hardwood floor. I wish the “foot” and the plastic part that fits up under the doorknob were both made of heavy duty rubber, so they would be guaranteed not to slip on hard surfaces. Also, you may want to take into consideration that the bar will jut out at an angle away from the door, so the bar will take up floor space and, depending upon where your door is located, could be a tripping hazard.

Simple and easy to use. Door set up straight forward. For sliding doors though, set the length to one pin position longer than the space between the closed door and the inside track of the frame. Then, after removing the door handle "fork", insert bar with rubber foot on the door and then drop in place. The end inside the track must be higher than that against the door. This will increase the wedging action of the bar and make lifting the door more difficult.

Very easy to put to use.

I am a single female and have always lived in apartments. I bought one for my mom too. I bought it in 2001 after I was a attacked by a maintenance man (in student housing while I was in law school) who let himself in when I was sleeping. With all the people who have access to apartment keys, no one should live in an apartment without a secondary security device. This is very sturdy and secures tightly against all doors (I have lived in 5 different apartments since 2001). I sleep a little better at night with this device. If someone were to successfully kick my door down, at least it would buy me more time to get my .38 ready. I will always have one of these while I am inside my home, day or night. No installation required. Very easy device!

We bought one for the front door and then one for another door. We like having the secure feeling of knowing the doors can not be kicked in. They are adjustable to fit any door and a rubber bottom for a non skid on floors or carpet. I would definitely recommend this product.

Love the look of this door . It is sturdy and secure with the bars. It looks great with the small design on it . The bars and steel frame are great.

The theme of this device is the best thing since sliced bread. My one con is it's construction. In my opinion, as a restraining device that uses a door knob to help prevent illegal entry, I would feel safer if it was made of heavier metal. The foot of the device can slip on a smooth surface. To help prevent this, I glued and trimmed a piece of really rough sandpaper to the foot's bottom piece. This still leaves the plastic piece that goes under the door knob. This should be made of a better material (steel would be nice). I'm hopeful that the manufacturer's will at least offer a heavier-made version in the future as an alternative to the current version. I will be getting another one for my glass patio door. The price is right (for me being retired) and it's current construction meets my minimum requirements. It's an excellent idea and I would recommend it to everyone in need of some extra security. One more thing, I did give this device a try and it resisted my efforts, however I would really like to give it the old "kick test" to see if it can resist it. Before I do this, I do recommend that you replace the hinge screws with heavy-duty, 3-4-inch long wood screws. The shorter screws will either rip out or break. I learned this from a previous break-in. My hinge screws for every door were replaced with 4-inch long screws. All windows can only be lifted up one inch due to metal screws being screwed into the window's slide track. I've included a picture of this device in it's installed position.

Looks good, seems simple and effective, but it's not. The adjuster pin mechanism fails under low to moderate force. The inner tube that has the pin on it, flops around inside the outer tube and the pin isn't long enough to stay in the hole you put it into. when it's under pressure, it collapses. See the other reviews with 1 star, same issue. Not sure who rated this thing above 1 star, and why, but they probably didn't test it, at all...

I just picked it up from my local HD. Got home and installed it on our basement door. I had my son who is 17 try and force the door open. With a 45 degree angle he was able to force the solid steel door with some force. with a 35 degree angle, he was also able to force door open with more force. On both trials my son said he was holding back and could have increased force but it wasn't required. The part that was interesting was where the device fail point was. It uses a spring loaded pin to select the length of the stick and to hold it in place. Both times when pressure was applied to the pole it was at the spring loaded pin that it failed. When you apply pressure the spring loaded pin slides in and out of place, with enough pushes the pin retracts all the way and the pole falls out of place. I wouldn't trust this thing when it comes to security. Because in security it either works or it doesn't and in this case it DOESN'T! A permanent pin once you have selected the proper length is what this pole needs to truly be effective.

I read about a number of home invasions in my neighborhood, and bought the Master Door Security Bar. It's very strong, supporting the doorknob and the striker. It's very easy to keep near the door, and to put in place. I'm very satisfied with the purchase, and might buy a second one for an interior door. The price seems very reasonable for the quality of the product.

Did not keep door shut. Actually assisted in opening the door from the top due to the counter pressure at the bottom.
