Was super easy to install. Was the perfect fit and looked so much better than the original plastic one it was replacing.

I ordered two of these vents; they are well made and sturdy.......... however, they have a major flaw. The extension pipe is approximately 4-3/16" in diameter, and universally available 4" flexible duct will not fit over it. You will either need an adapter crimped on both ends (one end of the adapter goes inside the vent pipe and your 4" duct goes on the outside of the other end), or you can do what I had to do....... I used a tin snip to cut several slits in the end of the pipe and bend the tabs slightly inward to allow the 4" duct to go over the pipe. A pain in the rear that should be explained in the product description.

Worked great and well made!

It is a high quality product. I shortened the pipe a few inches to fit my space and it is solid and secure. The metal screen size is perfect to keep out insects.

The vent that was ordered had a tube that was WAY too long. It obviously is not the manufacturer's fault the sales person assured that this item would fit all... NOT. So it was returned and I had to go elsewhere to get the correct length tube/vent.

Product is just what I wanted, but unusual snowy and cold weather has prevented installation.Come on spring !

Good quality product

Bought this to replace a 16 year old plastic fresh air vent for the fireplace. Fits perfectly and looks nicer than plastic. Expect it to last much longer than our old one did. The plastic started breaking apart years ago until this year when the rest of the outside pieces finally broke off.

Easy installation

Product itself was great. The constant emails asking for a review were not. I'm submitting this review after receiving five (Yes, you read that correctly - FIVE!) emails asking for a review. Come on Home Depot. Quit bothering me. It's a $15.00 part that doesn't need a review!

did not fit my fresh air vent. wrong part

It fits but had to be improvised to replace a damaged one.

This vent was just what i needed. This house has a fireplace blower built in and the air vent cover is on the brick chimney. I was replacing a plastic one that had disintegrated. I wanted a grate inside to prevent birds and mice from entering but since it is for intake I didn't want the closing baffle. Also, there us a 90 degree curve in the pipe do I wanted a vent cover I could trim down easily to fit, if needed. With metal snips, thus cover was perfect to adjust to the existing installation. Works great!

I bought this heavy gauge metal fresh air vent to replace a plastic head vent on my daughters fireplace which had broken due to hail. All I could find in the store were the cheap plastic head models. I ordered this on the HD Web site and was very impressed with the quality. It was only $4 more than the cheap plastic model. Installation was a breeze.

Well built and sturdy, it replaced my old plastic unit easily.

Ok product except there is no way to remove lint from the screen. My dryer ran literally two loads before needing to be disconnected and the screen emptied or else the clothes were still wet after an entire cycle. Ridiculous design!
