It was exactly what I needed!

Versatile

The one in the picture was made by a craftsman, and looks like it would move fan exhaust out a pipe. The one I received was made by a low paid employee. The seams are all riveted, but I can see daylight between each rivet. The fan exhaust would all exit into the cupboards above the stove instead of out the pipe. Home Depot should feel embarrassed to sell useless garbage like what I received. With significant effort, I should be able to make it work, first by straightening the edges, then by trying to seal the gaps in the seams. And, cursing at Home Depot the whole while for selling me such a useless facsimile.

Perfect fit

The rectangular part was anything but straight or square. That, however was easily fixed. The real problem was in the fact it was made poorly. there was a 1/2” difference in the boot’s length, necessitating an angle cut of the 9” round duct. Still, it looks crooked. Not happy at all.

Needed the transition boot to connect microwave to roof vent. It worked as expected, and the price was right. It wasn't stocked in the store, so had to order on-line.

one side, which should have been flat, was rounded which made fitting it a real problem. thank goodness for lots of duct tape.

Make sure the 7" vent pipe Installed with the same 7" boot at rough installation when using 7" flex as it slips over bothe ends of you connections. If you use solid vent then all connections must be opposite!

Transition fan boot fit and works as it should. Used aluminized tape (HVAC tape) to hold boot in place. Very happy with product.

This item is one of two common transition fan boots we carry in the service trucks to correct vent microwave exhaust ducts. I suggest these for accurate assembly - they can be trimmed to fit any application.

The boot was bent and was not a good fit but it does work once you get it on.

Poor fit the dimensions were off by at least a half an inch each way so I had to tape with silver tape onto the top of the duck

The fan boot fit right over the hood vent opening with little effort.

this would be a piece to that you would use in the attic or at least above the upper cabinets. So fan, then a length of 3-1/4 x 10 ducting, then this, then the roof baffle. This does NOT fit the fan directly.

Work as intended. Good for transitioning a range fan to the external exhaust pipe

It does the job. I would like it to have a different attachment to the bottom of the cabinet, but it works

This Fan Boot is needed for my Range Hood, I had no choice. It will get the job done, but it needs some kind of attachment flange to the top of the range hood adapter so it is secure and does not vibrate as some people have said. As it stands, the only option is to rest the fan boot over the range hood adapter on top of the range hood (sheet metal on top of sheet metal - that's why it will vibrate) and using metallic tape if you can get your fingers down in that area - much easier said than done. You can't use screws - no way to do that.

For what it is it's nice. I would rate it five if only it was a 8 inch instead of 7 because from what I've seen the only size of flexible duct they have is eight in and six soo...
