A well made sturdy door that easy to install and will outlast any wooden framed door. The frame, being plastic, is not as sturdy as wood so it bends more easily - remember that when you are shimming and you'll do fine.

I was mainly looking for an exterior door which would not rot due to exposure to water. This door/frame appears to meet that criteria quite well. We will see what happens in that regard. Good quality construction, nice appearance.

Purchased door at store and was delivered a few weeks later to the store. Picked up door ..
called my carpenter and said I was ready to have the door installed. Carpenter showed up and told me
there was no brick molding. No idea what he was talking about as I assumed door was complete.
Back to store to purchase brick molding at additional costs and carpenter time. Door cost around $400
so I though it was complete and ready to install.
Is this something new or should I have realized this? I like the door but come on, include the
brick molding even if you have to charge more. Who can install the door without this molding.

Thank you very much for your feedback, Ruth. We certainly apologize for any confusion but our door units do not come with brickmold by default, but they can be special ordered with it in store at a Home Depot location. Brickmold is also a component that would be stated in the specifications as well as in the product heading of the page if it was provided the online product. If you have any additional questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly at 800-663-3667 from 9:00AM to 5:00PM EST. Sincerely, Masonite

Miserable install with this door. Sill plate does not adjust as it should. Door out square. Hole for latch needed work. Had to chisel out hole. This was the second door. The first door was worse. Had to drive 70 miles to get another door after removing the old door. Home depot was accommodating and apologetic but it was a major inconvenience to say the very least. Would still rather deal with Home Depot than Lowes even though Lowes is only 15 miles away. After all the additional adjustments were made, the door functions and looks great. It just took 6 hours to make it happen and I have installed too many doors to remember how many. Never had issues like this before.

Beware of installation
This door leaves a lot to be desired related to installation. The instructions are not too bad until you get to the part about adjusting the sill.
The door was delivered with the sill adjusted to essentially its lowest possible position. I installed the door in accordance with the instructions, but found it very stiff to close. I correctly attributed this to the sill being too tight, but did nothing about it until I got to the instructions related to the sill adjustment. The instructions say to turn the sill adjusting screws counter-clockwise if the sill is too tight. I tried to adjust the sill in accordance with these instructions, but it kept getting tighter until it got to the point that the door would not close. I called the Masonite help line and talked to Matt. He said I should turn the screws clockwise in a manner that implied this was obvious, and there must be something wrong with me. Anyway, I returned the screws to their original position, and tried turning them clockwise. I think this would indeed have loosened the sill except that it immediately bottomed out against the concrete floor with the door still way too tight. Not wanting to subject myself to Matt again, I fiddled with the installation until I got it tolerable. In order to make it work, I racked the door frame slightly outward (maybe 1/16”) at the top of the hinge jamb, and shimmed the top and bottom hinges to further move the door toward the jamb at the top hinge and away from the jamb at the bottom hinge. This all worked to raise the door higher above the sill and make the door usable. It still operates a little stiff, but I hope that as the seal on the bottom of the door wears, the performance of the door will improve. At this point I thought I was home free.
Not true. When I installed the dead bolt, I found the mortise for the strike plate is far too small and far too shallow. I had to modify the jamb to accept the strike plate for the dead bolt. This was not too difficult (the radius corners didn’t help), but not something I should have had to do. It made me nervous to carve into a brand new door frame.
I am pretty handy. I have previously installed several doors, and not had the problems I did with this one. So, unless you are handy, and willing to struggle with installation, hire the installation done or select a different door manufacturer.
If you should decide to venture into this web of installation problems, consider spacing the sill a little off of the sub-floor to allow the sill to be adjusted downward without bottoming out against the sub-floor. Also, don’t forget that the instructions related to the sill adjustment are backward, and don’t count on much help from Masonite customer service.
