Not the best lock I’ve ever had. It rattles internally when the deadbolt is turned and inserting and extracting the key takes a lot of jiggling and positioning. It was easy to install. The finish and hardware are nice, I got the antique brass. So for the cost I’d say it’s as expected? I don’t really think there’s a good excuse for difficulty sliding the key in and out though. I recently put a lock of a different brand and similar price on another door and it functions much better than this one.

Quick and easy to install

The latch on our old Kwikset stopped working so I decided to replace the whole knob with what I thought was at least of the same quality. My old Kwikset had a metal spindle. When I brought home this set, I had a difficult time pulling the knobs apart from each other right out of the packaging. When finally separated, I noticed the spindle was not only plastic, but broken. Wouldn't have happened if it was metal. I returned it and went with Defiant which best fit my expectations in quality/price.

Here is a Prime example of Kwikset cost-cutting: a PLASTIC locking spindle (as pictured). On top of that, locking mechanism is still garbage. Deadbolt is not much better. This product is one to AVOID. Reviewed 16.Oct.2021

I was looking for an inexpensive hand set for an exterior utility room door. This one works well enough.

Great replacement for our 25+ year old lockset - easy installation - great appearance !

There needs to be a fourth rating category for service, I bought this latch set and also a double latch set. A sales associate quickly and cheerfully rekeyed the three sets so that all three deadbolts and all three knob sets used the same key. Now all the outside doors have matching keys. Installation was quick and easy. I was able to reuse the existing Kwickset entry bolt on one door, and several of the existing strike plates. I replaced the other bolts as they were old, worn, and "sticky". The Kwickset bolts were adjustable, making it simple to match the back set. Photo shows the location of the adjustment pin on one of the entry bolts. If you push the pin down and to the right, the bolt mechanism extends to a 2-3/4" backset.

The Deadbolt combo set was easy to assemble and it looks nice on the door great choice for my replacement set

Everything was going fine during installation, until I tried to screw the door knob assembly into the mating knob. One of the holes was not tapped deep enough, so I had to buy a tap & tap it deeper. It matches my other door knob sets in the house. Works great after installation.

Always trust in Kwikset used this brand for years, durability and strength you can depend on.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought several of these a few years ago. Finish on handsets and deadbolts didn't hold up with corrosion and discoloration. On one door the mechanism jammed and door could not be opened. Had to remove mechanism by sawing and chiseling it out. Lock unconditionally guaranteed forever and after sending kwikset pictures of the locks they were replaced at no charge with new ones. Good warranty, product could be improved.

Great product - works as expected. Deadlock bolt is larger than on the original lock so I could not use the existing plate. The new plate revealed extra cut-out on the door frame so need to do something about it.

This lockset was easy to install and seems to be working fine, so i would recommend it.

For years when I have to replace door knobs,or door locks I would only use kwickset as replacements
