This 120’ steel fish tape is great. It is nicely contained when not in use in a nice hard shell plastic donut like case. The case itself is made to orbit the carrying handle and makes it a breeze to roll it back in after use. I used it the first day I got it to pull a heavy wire fir a new meter through a 115’ long conduit, it did it with ease. The snake itself is made of a flexible but very strong metal that I’m sure is going to last for a very very long time. Don’t hesitate to get this superb Klein product.

Good if you need a metal fish tape. I have a non conductive fish tape that's pretty expensive so I have this to abuse as long as its not around live wires. My only issue with this is that it unreels itself when it's sitting there. You can roll it up and sometimes when you put it down it unreels about a foot or so which is kind of annoying. Other than that it's nice and has a good weight so I can just hang it up when Im not using it

I ordered and received the Klein 120ft steel fish tape as I am routinely in need of something to run cables or wiring for our house or one of our boats. After using coat hangers and other not so great contraptions to run wiring to hard to get to places, I finally decided it was time to get something a little more professional. I recently used this fish tape to run lot’s of electrical wiring from bow to stern on a classic 1974 20ft Aqua-Sport boat we have been restoring. The Klein steel fish tape made the job so much easier. It is flexible enough to run over unseen obstacles, yet stiff enough not to “buckle”. I was able to run my electrical wiring the entire 20 feet to its intended location with little effort. This is a high-quality tool that you may not use frequently, but when you need it, it is a great help. You simply attach the wire you want to run and “fish’ it through to its intended termination. I have several Klein products and they are all high quality and durable. I would recommend this as one of those tools to have in your garage so its’s there when you need it. I took a couple of pictures to show what this tool looks like, it’s so simple, yet so ingenious. Next time you are trying unsuccessfully to run wiring in a difficult location, you might want to consider the Klein steel fish tape to help ease your frustration.

Klein electrical tools are the gold standard within the industry for both their quality construction, and reliability. This fish tape is no exception. With it's 50-foot length, this tape will accommodate most any home project. My old fish tape was extremely hard to both extend and retract. This fish tape is absolutely effortless to use. It's such a joy to use...I totally love this fish tape. It's size is just small enough to fit most anywhere to carry or store. Extremely satisfied and Highly Recommend this.

This Klein Tools 240 foot steel fish tape is plenty long for handling the longer runs. The steel fish tape has a hooked end to attach your wire etc. to for pulling it through the conduit run. The fish tape also has laser markings on it every foot to tell you the length as you go. Overall the non-binding design of this tape works well and the multi-grip handle and slip-resistant housing makes it easy to use.

I ordered this steel fish tape in the fifty foot and this 240 foot length as I plan to use these fish tapes a lot. I have other products made by Klein and have been very satisfied with their performance so I expect the same from this product. It is very comfortable in my hand and easy to use. The tape glides smoothly in and out. I used it to replace some wiring in my home and it worked very well. I also think that it will be useful to run down my roof vent in order to unstop plumbing. The price is economical as well. I recommend this product.

I have other Klein tools that have performed well and this fifty foot steel fish tape is no exception. It is well made and sturdy and is very easy to use.The polypropylene handle is very comfortable in my hand.I needed to locate some wiring and replace some wiring in my home and I was very pleased with the performance of this product. This was not mentioned as a use for the product but I also plan to see if I can use it to unstop some plumbing by running it through my roof vent. The price is very reasonable as well. I highly recommend it.

This is an indispensable tool if you are running wire or cable through walls or anywhere that you can reach on your own. The 50 foot is perfect for me, not too long but long enough to go anywhere in an average home. This tool is very sturdy and the tape moves forward and backward easily. I have only used it once so far but I was impressed at how well the wire stayed on the hook when pulling through a small hole. I have had issues with other tape losing the wire, this one has not done that. Klein tools in general are high quality and this tool is no exemption.

I’ve used plenty of steel fish tapes in my life but this Klein fish tape is the best design and methodically well thought out. The tape is laser etched every foot with each segment of tape clearly showing how much steel tape has been fed out of it’s container so you know roughly how much wire is to be fished or pulled. This doesn’t sound like much however when you have a difficult to fish multi-stranded wire run to complete especially in tight diameter conduit or tubing you will appreciate knowing how much more adventures await you until the pull is completed. This is a Klein branded tool so you know it is designed and made for the trades. You can pay less but why save few dollars when tools if purchased correctly will last and can be handed down?

Fishing wires through ceilings or conduit tubing is a reality of old construction. The Klein steel fish tape gives you something to tape a wire to so that you can pull wiring through enclosed spaces where you typically cannot see or push a wire through. This is the length you want for long runs or heavy wires. It is flexible and durable. There are etched markings on the tape to see how long a run is. The case is sturdy and the tape winds back up by spinning the wheel (don't push it back into the casing-wheel it back in). 120 feet should be long enough for a homeowner. There are longer in length so think about what length you think you might need beforehand). You hold the tool by the black handle, and you spin the round orange cartridge to wind up or feed the tape. When feeding you most likely will grasp the tape with one gloved hand to push the tape forward, around, and back and forth until you get the tape through to where you have your wires. Then you attach your wires with tape (usually about 6-12 inches onto the tape) then go back to the reel to start reeling the tape back in. Along come the wires. While no tool should be dropped, drops happen. The case seems solid enough to handle a drop here and there. This tool is a must to run wires through conduit tubing for running wires to a shed, to a pool pump, to an outside deck light, or anywhere electrical pvc conduit must be used, or inside where metal conduit might be used. The tape can make some tight 90 degree bends which makes pulling wire possible through tight spots. The tool is priced reasonably. I recommend it as an essential tool for electric work for any homeowner or professional.

Extremely helpful and not so daunting.
I haven't purchased one of these mainly because I was concerned about its utility. However, on my first project it seems that I should have bought it sooner - I might have started other projects sooner! I used this to pull doorbell wire up from my basement (where my transformer was installed) up into baseplate of frame near front door for use with my new Nest Pro Doorbell. So easy. Flexible but firm. Pot lights, etc, here we come!

The 65-foot fish tape did the job. But I’ve not yet been able to rewind it onto the spool. So, three stars, not five.

They was no price tags on three of these I grabbed and had to go back to find the price. Self check out does not help you when you have this problem. time is money as a contractor.

Would not unwind, jammed day one
First time I went to use this after purchasing it the tape would unwind about 12 inches and then jam. Could not get it to unwind at all after that. Returned to store

This replaced a 25' fish tape, also from Klein, that had a plastic tip that broke off. This example has a steel tip that seems much more durable than the plastic tip used previously. The extra length will also make it easier to fish wires through long runs.
