Stay away from it ! Bought KHB1231 GA , used it only about 5 times. Low on power , overheating all the time , after several uses head developped a crack, on the following time we have tried to used the whole head came apart. I have read the reviews of many other people developing exact same problem. Blender was purposely made cheap with good looks. If you start using it daily -it will not last a month. Hopefully you will reqd this message

It’s so easy to use-the bottom safety features are great as they cover the blades so no worries of getting cut! It blends perfectly and has smooth results each time! Definitely a necessity I didn’t realize I needed in the kitchen!

I love smoothies but different flavors so I do a lot of experimenting. The best so far is Mandarin oranges, orange cream ice cream bars,vanillas ice cream, Greek yogurt and (Drum roll) New York Style Cheesecake Smoothie… yes real cheesecake… YUMMY AND DELICIOUS Thank you Kitchen Aid

I bought this to make smoothies. I used it daily and it worked really well until the plastic part in the handle that turns the blade broke. I only had it about 4 months. I loved the convenience and it worked great until that happened. I had hoped it would last for a long time because it worked so well.

Got this in green apple for Christmas two years ago. Barely used for the first year but then started making bullet coffee and hot chocolate with it. Works great, except now, the plastic part of the blending arm has cracked and has to be her together to use. Replacement part cost more than the whole thing did! Very disappointed.

I’ve used this immersion blender infrequently until about a month ago when I discovered how powerful it is - and then this happened .... the plastic around the neck of the attachment is cracked all the way around. I’m very unsatisfied at this point, and I’m hoping KitchenAid will remedy this issue as the product hasn’t received that much use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I will preface this review by saying I am a 50+ year old with the heart of a famous chef trapped in the lifestyle of a very busy person who doesn’t suffer useless gadgets well. That being said, I could not love this (ahem PINK) 2-speed blender any more if I tried. The motor runs smoothly on either speed while its long, mobile stick design allows you to freely whip all your contents into purées with a slight move of your hand (last nights squash w/leek soup) or to simply give your dishes a quick half-mix (smashed skin-on potatoes anyone?) The best part is how easy it is to clean. Simply detach the bottom from the base, rinse and move on. This smart design also means the blades will never touch the bottom of your best pans so it has completely eliminated the steps involved to move the ingredients from the pot to a stand mixer or blender then back again. The Kitchenaid stick blender has quickly earned its spot in my kitchen (did I mention it’s available in PINK?)

I bought this a few weeks ago to give as a Christmas gift. It recently arrived and I am very disappointed and irritated. The box is partially crushed and shows signs of water damage. I cannot give something in such poor condition as a gift.

Immersion blenders must be the new thing! I didn’t know they existed until a few months ago. I am a huge blender person and now that I think about it, I have three regular blenders and now I recently purchased this kitchen aid immersion blender. I have to say, this is a game changer in my house! I make a lot of sauces and soups and this immersion blender makes it so much easier to blend without removing the food from the pot or bowl it’s in, place it in a blender, blend, then place it back in the bowl or pot to continue what you were doing. The hand held blender allows you to keep everything in it’s pot or bowl and just blend! Less clean up! Less hassle. Amazing. I read some reviews and decided to go with the kitchen aid since it matches all my other appliances and it has some good reviews. I love that the stick part you hold is very comfortable and the button is easy to use. There are two speeds, which is a plus as well. The first couple times I used it in a big pot of soup, the blade part detached from the hand stick and frustrated me a bit, but once you get the hang of properly using it, you won’t be mad. But on the brighter side, the blade attachment is very easy to remove and clean! The kitchen aid immersion blender also came with it’s own container to blend sauces, dressings, etc in which I use a lot as well. I noticed other models come with whisks as well but not the one I got. Another benefit is the price. Usually kitchen aid items are on the higher end of pricing but for $30, this is totally worth the money. I would recommend this product if you like to keep your kitchen cleaner, food prepared quicker, and if you like kitchen gadgets!

I purchased this mixer 2 weeks ago. Only used it once, but wow! It feels so solid and powerful. It was easy to control. I had another name brand mixer. It just quit. The kitchen Aide feels like it will last! Ready to use it again. Looking for the accessories.

New Blender has balance issues. I have to rotate the blending arm to a position different that the alignment marks as designated on the blending arm. This vibration causes the liquid to spatter..., not good KitchenAid! I've ordered new blending arms for two of the blenders that have this concern. ALSO, the markings on the mixing cup are no longer laser etched (as shown in KitchenAid marketing photos). This makes reading the scale VERY difficult. Please update photos and advise me of your course of action.

Bought it in May and in July the blade broke in half when making a banana-milk shake. No hard stuff. No ice in it. Only banana and milk.

I would echo many of the reviews. Very nice blender but we've found that the cord has dried out and the protective insulation cracked up & down the cord. Wrapping it with electrical tape is a temp fix. Wish we could just unplug the cord from the unit each time instead of it being integral and having to wrap it tightly around the handle area.

This was a gift from my husband. I love this "tool" I don't know how I managed with it. I keep it right on my counter for handy access It whips up my sauces and gravies with ease. I love the color matches my coffee maker and mixer. The cord is a little heavy and tends to get in the way. But you would have that with any hand mixer/blender.

The competition is fierce for this latest must-have class of product. Immersion blenders attempt to give you the best of two worlds in a handheld package, and KitchenAid - to be expected - delivers a thoughtful product at a fair price. Their offering gives the impression of solid construction, good weight (too heavy for some people but it gives you a confident feel), easy cleaning, good safety features, and good looks - even if it does live in a drawer much of the time. They essentially put a Blender's blade construction in a convenient stick form, but sharpened the blades (be careful!!) to mimic a food processor. It cannot match either appliance but does the job for small batches or difficult locations. Despite photos, the stove is not the place to use this - the electric cord can catch on pan handles or touch hot burner plates. A counter near the stove is ideal; keep a heat proof tile handy to place hot pans on. KitchenAid makes a heavier model also, but at that point you probably should be using a counter appliance. Usage hint: If the blade stick seems to wobble in use you do not have it "locked" on; twist harder when attaching. Storage hint: The pretty orange 2-inch cap from larger Tropicana jugs exactly fits the end of the blade holder, safely covering the sharp blades when in a drawer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love KitchenAid products and still stand by their outstanding durability. I've had my stand mixer for years... I recently found this hand blender I needed to hide the onions in a sauce for my grand son. I quickly looked over the instructions and contents list and noticed There was no pot protector included. I even checked the box twice. This is the 2nd kitchenaid appliance where all of the advertised extras were missing in the packaging ..first a white rubber scraper that was a bonus when I got my mixer for Christmas. No the pot protector. Someone needs to look at packaging with new eyes.....you are too great of a company to be undermined by packaging mistake.
