The wall plates on the grab bar must be mounted to a brace between the wall studs. Doing so will ensure that the weight of the user is adequately supported. Wall plate does not have a way to attach wall...
Wall plate does not have a way to attach wall anchors when one end is not on a stud. Kohler customer service did not even want to talk about it. For the price they charge, one could get some help. The lengths of 24, 18, 12 obviously will not be on studs on both ends.

Must mount in stubs or other reinforcement. Drywall not sufficient. 38” length means won’t catch 16” centered studs. We angled to catch studs. Ok for residential. Commercial code says supposed to be horizontal. Grab bar works well; sturdy, attractive, good grip. What you expect from Kohlery

Build was superior and well worth the few extra dollars....
Build was superior and well worth the few extra dollars. Instal is simple, but work and time required depending upon how hard the ceramic is. I used 3 #10 TripleGrip Anchors, for each end, 200# X 3=600# of down force/ end. If you’re going to do the work and spend the time, buy the better .

It doesn't look at all like the other Kohler oil...
It doesn't look at all like the other Kohler oil rubbed bronze items I have. The color is different and shows no hint of bronze below. It's a shame. It's adjacent to the TP holder and looks silly whereas the other pieces all look quite nice.

The color was Black—not oil rubbed bronze. I even called Home Depo after I read other reviews that stated the color was black and the salesman said it was oil rubbed bronze

K-10540-2BZ is a Oil-Rubbed Bronze finish but does not include copper highlights as other Oil-Rubbed Bronze finishes do. This product was backorder when I was ready to make my purchase so I ordered another make, then it became available. I returned the other brand in favor of this one expecting a better quality. The other brand was half the price with hand grips. The Kohler bar May be better quality but if I had to do it over again I'd chose the other brand for the difference in price. They look the same. Had it one month.
