These doors, once installed, are elegant, "feel" wonderful to use, and are of very high quality. Also their design (no bottom tracks to collect gunk) is very clever. Although we're both very handy do-it-your-selfers, luckily we have a master carpenter friend who volunteered to install these doors. The install directions are terrific, but unless your shower enclosure is perfectly square, level and plumb, we don't recommend doing this yourself. Our shower enclosure is a "multiple trapezoid" and thus took quite a bit of shimming and fussing to make the doors LOOK square and operate perfectly. (The doors DO have ingenious internal adjustments UP TO A POINT, but our friend had to innovate to create the illusion of perfection that he achieved). If you DO have a square/plumb enclosure, go for it. We also installed beautiful peel'n'stick faux marble FLOOR tiles, plus ceramic, glass and marble tile remnants to completely dress up the new shower doors. The whole bathroom upgrade cost us about $500 (because our carpenter owed us that huge favor!). YAY! See photo

Mine was sitting in storage for a long time as I purchased this about a year or more ago and just now finally had time to install after I tore out an old and built a new shower stall for it in our master bathroom. I mention this lag in time as the ones you will purchase now have some slight differences/improvements in design around installation that mine did not. There is a great YouTube video from Kohler on installation and it was made for the newer one which is a bit simpler to install than my older style one was. This said, I am still extremely pleased with the quality of the product once installed. This far exceeded my expectations around the value you get and the custom framless look and functionality with this given its very affordable price point. In my research before purchasing it seemed that similar glass, framless or frameless looking models can easily exceed $1,000. I think when I purchased mine it was on sale for around $380 and now it's priced on sale for around $320 so it's even less expensive now. For me the painful part of installation was the amount of tedious silicone caulking required around the inner and outer edges of the two wall jambs and one curb threshold pieces but this would be required for any shower door install so it's nothing unusual. Also installation requires some very precise measuring and placement/alignment of pieces and most importantly your walls and shower curb need to be very plumb, square and straight to accommodate this product. It is VERY unforgiving in this respect due to it's extremely slim tolerances between the doors and the wall jambs and curb threshold pieces. After installation, even with perfectly straight walls and a level curb, it at a glance looks like it will allow water to pass through but surprisingly it does not - at least for me this is the genius in the design of this product. The install instructions state it can accommodate no more than 1/4" out of plumb on the wall jambs and curb threshold pieces and I think even that would be a stretch. One more thing to mention, I would of of liked to of made my shower curb with a more aggressive slope to better drain water but did not in order to accommodate the center guide of this shower door. If your curb is sloped too much inward the center guide will sit at too much of an angle and may not allow the bottoms of the doors to slide through it properly. I think I was only able to get away with a max of 5 degrees inward slope. I mocked-up my marble threshold to test at different curb slope angles before doing its final install and determined that a max of 5 degrees worked the best with this shower door's center guide placement. I assume one could get away with more slope but be aware this is a potential limitation. There was no mention in the install instructions about what the max slope was supposed to be but this is an important consideration so it should be added by Kohler. I called their 1-800 support number and the rep was pretty clueless and after some fumbling around just said there should be no slope and the angle of the center guide should be straight which cannot be correct as shower curbs should all be sloped inward. Once installed it looks fabulous and the operation of the door slides are smooth and flawless. The doors are coated to prevent staining and so far the coating has worked great for me and they even bead up the water that gets on them and are super easy to squeegee off. I can say now that since they are installed and I've been using them for a while that I can't think of anything I dislike. They are a great value especially for the affordable price.

Not too difficult to install, drilling the 10 mounting holes on the ceramic wall tiles was the hardest part. It looks really nice after it is installed, much better than the other brands which Home Depot carries in their store.

We paid someone to install it and it took him longer than expected, but it looks really nice and we were happy with the price! Squeegee after every use to keepwater spots off glass. Our walls were a little off plumb so we have a little gap onone side but no major splashing out of the shower.

This door exceeded all of my expectations in cost, quality, ease of assembly, and general appearance. I had recently ordered a door from your competitor and had to return it due to the over-all weight and difficulty of installation. I did not learn that professional installation was required until reading the documentation that came with the door. It was twice the cost of this Kohler product. I am including a picture I took just after I finished installation.

Turned out rather well I think... my shower curb is 5 inches high so despite being 5'11" I have no problem entering or leaving the shower but I can see it being a problem for shower stalls with very low curbs. The best news however, is that I package I received (a week or so ago) has completely redesigned hardware... virtually every metal piece is very different than what is represented in the installation guide shown here. It's more logical, stronger and easier to assemble than before. Don't ask me when or how this happened but it was obviously done by a very different person or persons. I tried contacting Kohler for some insight but I totally failed to connect to a live person. I wish I knew how to tell you how to verify what version you might receive but the package I received has the exact same model number on the delivered product as what's shown here. I'll try and answer any questions that any comments left here might have.

AWFUL would be a generous word to use while describing this bathtub door. 3 days after installation by a well-known professional installer, the glass doors started separating from the bottom tracks. They swayed and made a frightening noise as if they were about to crash. The meager amount of silicone in the tracks peeled out almost entirely. Pieces of flexible plastic "cushioning" between the glass and the bottom track came out entirely. We are now stuck with a contractor's bill to remove the door, take it back to Home Depot, and install a new door of a different brand. Here's the kicker: we purchased two of these doors, one bathtub and one shower, for two bathrooms. The bathtub one is the one that's falling apart. When the contractor opened the box of the yet-to-be-installed shower door, guess what - he found the glass and track separating from that one too!!! Stay away from this junk. Kohler should be embarrassed to make such a product. Pictures attached to show the extent of lack of quality control.

I just refinished my first fully gutted bathroom and went high end on most items, stone, flooring, and vanity. I was looking for a cost effective but high quality solution for the shower door and after searching at retail brick and mortar as well as online this product was the direction I went. The online reviews were mostly favorable and my trust of the Kohler name is what allowed me to take a chance. It couldn't have worked out better. See the photo as it looks great! The door is high quality and was a relatively easy DIY project. I saw some reviews that had huge hours associated with the install. I found that in only 2.5 hours I had it up and installed. The tricky part was the center guide on the base. If I were to do that again, I would have installed that a day before and let the silicon secure before putting the doors on it. It was hard to accomplish this when the silicon was sill wet and the center base guide was able to slide around. I wouldn't hesitate deciding on this door. It looks great, was reasonable to install and doesn't break the projects budget.

This is the perfect door for our new shower! Added great style to our new bathroom. Door was professionally installed and looks and operates perfectly - slides are smooth and stable on the track. The best part about this door is that it appears more frameless than it is. The glass rising above the track helps the door to have a complete frameless look. Visually this door resembles a much more expensive door, so the value is great. This is the perfect door to update your new shower.

This shower door looks beautiful and glides smoothly. I like the fact that the doors will fully pass each other for cleaning. Unfortunately the water spotting treatment does not seem to work well. The glass needs cleaning every day. Good product for the price.

First up this shower door looks great, has a very smooth running action and makes a very classy appearance. Installation is a very detailed and arduous task though, with over 30 steps of badly illustrated and sometimes flawed instructions. This will take you about 8 hours to put together, maybe less if you have good tools and your walls are dead straight. A life saver for me was the excellent walk through at Major Makovers [www.1house2home.com/installation-kohler-levity-74in-frameless-sliding-shower-glass-door-k-706009-lsh.html] which had the screw mounting in the right order along with step by step photos and tips. Take your time with the install and you will have a great looking shower.

Overall I'm pleased with the quality, look and function. I'm a DIY'er with a decent skill set and I thought installation wasn't too difficult. Tedious but not horrible like some reviews I've seen. Face it folks, this is a custom job. Not every bath/shower is exactly the same so there is some work that needs put into it. The panels glide easy and smoothly. My main complaint would be that the 2 side jams are only held to the wall with 2 screws each, one at the top and one at the bottom. This means that the middle of the jam is not very secure until you really get some strong silicon along the sides to hold it in place. Same holds true for the bottom trim...it isn't held in place by anything BUT the silicon glue you put down. Kohler needs to come up with a more secure mounting system. Fortunately, neither the side jams or the bottom trim really have any function or do any support. Not a deal breaker but know you'll need to be relying on silicon as glue so don't skimp on a good strong anti-mold tube.

Nice unit but installation guide should mention that the 5/16" drill bit should be masonry if you are installing unit in a tiled setup. I used a level to make sure the side metal bars were exactly horizontal ( marked a pencil line as a guide) so that The lower bar fitting the base edge would be lined up perfectly before I installed the door guide in the middle of the bottom bar. I used painter's tape to hold everything (side bars & bottom bar) in position before I drilled the holes for the side bars. Once the holes were drilled and the bars in place, I ran a clear silicone bead along one side of the bottom & side bars using painter's tape to keep the bars in position. Once that silicone cured, I removed the tape and ran a bead on the other side. looks great and wife is very happy.

I gutted an entire bathroom in my home and had been shopping around for a few months for glass shower doors and finally choose the Levity frameless sliding glass doors. They are excellent quality and the look is very sleek and modern. The price was the best part, very reasonable!

Excellent product. Easy to install. Looks great!
These doors were easy to install (though it really is a two person job). Took about 2 hours to install. Looks great and slides smoothly. The tiles and river rock in the background were also purchased at Home Depot. My tile person helped me install them, so I was happy to let him drill through the new tiles. Once installed, I water tested them and there is no leakage out the bottom or through the doors. Rollers are easily marked for inside and outside doors (a previous review said they weren't, so I guess that's been corrected) and the glass doors are easy to figure out inner and outer pieces. Overall, very happy with the purchase and final look of my shower.

Great shower door for the price
We remodeled our master bathroom and wanted a frameless shower door...until I saw how much they cost...ouch! This shower door is a good alternative as it's not entirely frameless but pretty darn close. I like the minimalist look to it and it seems to be well built. We do have hard water stains on the glass but the spots come off pretty easily with a little bit of elbow grease. For the price, it was well worth it!

        Very nice shower door
This shower door caught my eye when I was planning to remodel a bathroom. I wanted a glass door for the sleek look but not one that opened on a hinge for space reasons. This one looked very good - the sliding mechanism is very smooth and looks cool and the price is very affordable. I had it installed professionally and was told it was easy to install. So far it works well and functions well. It is also easy to clean. One note was that there had been a label on the metal that left a sticky residue when taken off. I removed the residue with hot soapy water and some gentle scrubbing so as not to mark the metal. Overall very pleased with the product.

High Quality /Looks like a Customer Shower Door
The shower door was easy to install. Husband convinced me to purchase this instead of a custom full glass shower door/due to cost since we are nearing the end of the construction on our new home. I was very concerned that he would not be able to install this door especially since he was going to have to cut the frame to fit. Well I am so happy and all our guest say that door had to be so expensive. So I am a very happy customer

Modern look for a fraction of the cost
Very happy with this door overall. It's a Kohler, the fit and finish seems to be consistent with a quality brand. The glass coating works well to bead the water off and it's easy to clean with just a squeegie. And for the price, you can't beat the looks. We did have a few issues when purchasing: be careful when selecting the type of glass, as the order confirmation does not show that detail. Also make sure you are selecting the correct hardware (handle or towel bar). The staff at HD was very helpful making sure we got our order right. Measure everything right the first time and you won't have issues. My husband and I are no expert shower door installers but we got it done in 5 hours or so. The instructions are quite confusing, you will be better off looking at the pictures than reading them. Make sure to measure the distances on the bottom pieces correctly as it will make everything fit much better. If you don't, you'll find yourself grinding off end pieces and most likely end up with a off center shower door that leaks everywhere. We read reviews where people were complaining about leaks, ours has no leaks and works really well (we even run jets on full power and we don't have any issues). Measure twice, cut once. Read and understand the step thoroughly before doing it. You'll end up with a beautiful shower door that looks like you just paid $1000 for.

        Easy installation and quality appearance
My father and I took our time with installing these sliding shower doors and didn't run into any trouble. The installation is straightforward and painless, as long as you follow the "measure twice, cut once" adage. The door rollers are labeled differently on the package of small items than they are in the instructions, which may cause some confusion. You'll know if you're using the wrong rollers - they'll fall off. Save yourself a headache and another trip to the store by checking both. Get yourself an inexpensive squeegee to keep in the shower and quickly take the moisture off of the doors after you finish showering. It'll help keep the bathroom looking clean and professional.

Fabulous looking shower door - easy to clean and very modern but yet simple appearance
The door was easy to install and assemble. Only a few peices and minmal easy cutting to size the components. I liked the fact that there were only a few screws to hold the trim in place and once caulked, this door style is very attractive.
