Was pleased when I first installed the kohler shower door. Quality of materials seemed to be excellent, then after only six months the door bottom gasket has torn.

    Very nice shower door.
The shower door is very attractive and the "clean-coat" does seem to work as described.

    Nice door
1st time installing a shower door, but wanted to save $. Had to swap out the 1st one because we bought a size too small (be sure to measure your shower door opening EXACTLY.) Home Depot was so nice about the swap!!! Easy installation, excellent, detailed instructions, and a beautiful door. Saved close to $400 over having one installed by a shower door company. Also, the Kohler website and tech support was helpful before we purchased, answering our question (we needed to install the opening opposite the shower head, which they said was okay.) LOVE THE DOOR!

For the amount of money spent, I’m very disappointed in the quality of the hardware! The screws are junk, the two Allen keys they provide are junk and the instructions are mediocre at best. Luckily I was able to notice this early and went and bought good hardware and used real tools. DIY’ers beware

Hex head (allen wrench) screws were worse than worthless and created considerable problems in installation. Stripping out of soft screw heads before screws were seated caused damage to door frame when undoing failed installation and required purchase of alternative stainless steel screws from hardware store drilling new holes to complete installation. I would not recommend this product as shipped.

I have a number of Kohler products (shower doors, sinks, toilets) and have generally been quite satisfied, and I would have given this product a higher rating except for a few glitches that seem to be traceable to the factory. Shortly after I started the installation, following the enclosed instructions, I couldn't find a number of key parts, so I began making a list. There were so many that I thought there should have been a second box. Then I realized that the installation instructions for a different model were included with the unit I was trying to install. I was able to download the correct installation instructions from the Home Depot website and proceed. There was one serious problem with the instructions-Step 3 tells you to LOOSELY install the wall jambs, but there is no subsequent instruction that tells when to fasten them tightly. At Step 7, the instruction says to install and trim the Strike Seal; this part was not included with my unit, so I had to spend a lot of hold time on the phone waiting for a service rep to look up the part and make arrangements to ship it to me. I would have been quicker to simply order it from their website, but then i would have had to pay for it. The unit looks good installed, but Kohler needs to do a better job with their install instructions and factory packaging process.

Yes, the door is nice and looks great! Assembly can be a little quirky if walls/tile are not square and plumb, so check your measurements everywhere and make adjustments as needed. I had to reset the frame and hinge side. Having a helper is definitely a good thing too.

Well engineered/machined unit except the hardware. Whoever specced the alllen head screws wins bonehead of the year. The screws are softer that the allen wrench provided so they strip even before final tightening. I had to make another trip to the store and buy Phillips head stainless screws plus I scratched the aluminum track a bit with the pliers trying to get the screw out. Then when I got it all done my "special order" door came with the wrong glass. If I'd had the right glass I'd probably be tickled with the product. As it stands it will be interesting to see how long it'll take to get the correct glass.

As was already stated in many of the reviews, the screws that hold the side pieces come with a small allen wrench head. They are made from too soft a metal that strip too easily to do the job. I too would recommend getting stainless steel, Phillips-head screws of the same length.

Finally got around to installing after a few months of receiving the door. The instructions are a little confusing and I would not consider this installation easy for the typical DIYer unless your opening is squared at the bottom and not a small radius as most fiberglass stalls may be. I had to cut the vertical “jambs” on my metal cutting bandsaw based upon a template I made to fit the contour of the stall’s threshold. Other’s have mentioned the inadequate hardware. I agree and tossed out the supplied screws and used Phillips head screws to avoid the hex heads which were not well made and created a problem with obtaining a good fit with the supplied wrench. I understand that a decorative element was attempted with the supplied screws but the inadequate tolerances of what is provided makes the attempt fall short. Also, one of the jambs was not notched in the right places on the non-hinged side. I overcame this by drilling holes and using screws instead of the plastic adjustable “clamps”. If you have above average skills and a supply of your own hardware and tools, I would reccomend the door and a self-install.

Insulation went fine until you try to attach the door to the frame. The #8 x 3/4" hex flat head screws could not be inserted into the clamps before the hex head stripped out. Had to remove with a vise grip, go the H.D. and purchase #8 X 3/4" stainless phillips head screws to finish the job.

The matte silver frame is light weight and cheap. The screws use a hex tool which is insane. We, too, had to purchase new screws. There are parts that are warped, came chipped/flawed. The door is grinding and will need, once again, more adjustments. Oh, and the instructions are in French, so that wasn't helpful. I had to search for online and print out to the tune of 20 pages and then piece together. In summary, find something else.

Looks great, though with two issues...
Short version of the review… The door looks great, the installation process was long but doable, but the allen-head adjusting screws made it impossible to work with. So after stripping them I had to extract them out and change them with Phillips-head screws and it worked much better. The glass door itself should’ve been a little wider too. Longer version of the review… This was my first time installing a shower door. After comparing many different shower doors online I decided to go with this one because of the look, the cost, the availability, the coating that they put on it, and because it was adjustable to fit my older house that has out-of-plumb and out-of-square walls. The installation instructions were for the most part easy to follow. It would probably be a good idea to read through them slowly before unboxing anything else so that you can see down the line how things will work before you get there. Perhaps the most challenging thing about the installation by far was the screws that came with the door. To adjust for my out-of-plumb walls, the framework allows for about 1 ½” of play, give or take. The doorjamb fits inside a wall-mounted bracket. Four plastic clamps hold these two pieces firmly together. Each of the plastic clamps has one allen-head screw going through it, and you would normally tighten and loosen these accordingly in order to tighten or loosen the doorjamb on/off the wall-mounted bracket. You need to do this to adjust the door to meet the strike jamb correctly. These allen-head screws took a lot of elbow grease to turn and they strip VERY easily. So after stripping almost all of them I had to purchase an extractor bit set, take them out, and replace them with #8 ¾” Phillips-head screws. This made it WAY easier to tighten and loosen with my drill gun. So after this whole debacle, the installation went a lot more smoothly. Another thing is that I wish that the glass door itself was just a little wider. From tile to tile, the distance at the top (60”) is 34,” and at the bottom it is 34 ¼.” The door itself is just shy of 29.” I adjusted the jambs as far as they could possibly go, and on the bottom side I can start to see the holes on the doorjamb that are cut to fit the adjustment clamps. If the glass door itself was at 30” it would have been a near-perfect fit. After calling the company I found that I couldn’t get this replaced with a 30” door, so I’m stuck with it. Oh well. In all, it looks great and I’m glad I bought it despite the issues of width, and the screws that came with it. Hope this helps!

        Nice door
Door looks/operates nice. Customer happy. Anodized Brushed Bronze color very close to popular Champagne Bronze faucets. A little trickier to install than others "off the shelf". Like many Kohler products, lots of parts.

Small, hex head screws made installation very difficult. I finally tossed the screws that were provided and replaced them with Phillips screws.

        Fluence shower door
This door really looks good. Problem is definitely with the screws and the vague directions. The allen wrench for the screws that go into the plastic holders will strip out. Recommend screwing in completely and then backing out before mounting the bracket to the wall.

        Great Styling / Quality Product
I was looking for a more modern design for my Master Bath Shower door replacement and this one was perfect! Shipped to my house in pristine condition. No damage whatsoever! Amazing considering how heavy the all glass door is. Anyway, the installation instructions are very detailed and cover everything. It took me about 3 hours to do the install.

        Very nice and quality Product
We remodel the bath and install a standup shower and that's when we're looking to install a glass door, checked at local glass shops and the prices were extremely high, and then came across this product at local Home Depot. Best price and quality, the only thing is that the handle is not that sturdy and it requires alkaline wrench to tight and the screws are not very durable and they become loose after every few months and needs tightened. Other than that it has been a great addition and gets a lot of compliments.
