The sink looks beautiful. Unfortunately the quality isn't what I would expect from Kohler - very careful with the sink but already have to small scratches through the enamel on the rim that seemed to appear out of nowhere!

Hi Newsink4us, this is Sarah with Kohler Co. I'm very sorry to hear you aren't happy with the quality of your Brookfield cast iron sink. Small scratches on the top surface are normally pot marks. Pot marks are caused by metal objects (most commonly aluminum cookware) striking the enameled surface. Pots, pans, and utensils may leave the metal marks on sink surfaces because the thick layer of fire-polished enameled is harder than cookware. The pot marks look like scratches, but they do not penetrate the enameled surface. To clean, apply a small amount of Kohler Cast Iron Cleaner (part #1012525) to the marks. Cast iron is heavy, but my wife hated the stainless steel one she had. This one is also almost 2 inches deeper, which she also loved. Have to keep the wife happy!

We like the sink size and looks, but disappointed in the quality. The sink rim was warped, had to shim one corner about 3/16 of an inch to keep it from rocking, and had to use lots of caulk to fill the 1/8 inch gap along most of each side. Also found porcelain chipped off one corner.

Very nice quality sink BUT the wire mesh screens that were purchased separately should come as a Right and Left not the way they do with the screens welded on the same side so the left wire mesh is essentially upside down.

Too early to tell, I expect a sink like this to last a very lonime. I wrote this to get them to stop pestering me via email. What can I say, it's a sink and it is fine, the accessories are expensive. And it is really, really, heavy. I highly recommend two people to lift and set it into place!!
