Purchased two JELD-WEN windows. This window came without a screen and leaks during moderate rains. Made phone calls and was told to fix problem I would have to remove window, return to store, wait 6 weeks. Like I'm going to do that, right. Not happy.

The windows arrived without the screen which is annoying because...
The windows arrived without the screen which is annoying because I have to wait for the missing piece to arrive and then hire my contractor for another day of service to come install the window/screen. Very annoyed about this inconvenient and costly situation.

Delivery was on time, but slowed our remodel project due...
Delivery was on time, but slowed our remodel project due to a 6-week delay between ordering and delivery. Now that the window is installed and our bedroom remodel is complete, I'm thrilled. Our contractor confirmed that the quality is good and it was installed without any difficulties.

The windows arrived in a sturdy box constructed of plywood. Once opened, one window would not unlock, the other would not lock. I noticed cheap plastic pieces in bottom of shipping box which I determined went inside the mechanism that would allow the window to lock. The window also would not slide well as the sliding panel would not stay level when it was slid open and closed. Overall these are the cheapest, most generic windows I've purchased out of American Craftsman and Pella. Will never purchase Jeld-wen brand again. Windows are obviously being returned since in addition to being cheap and poorly made, they are completely inoperable unless you don't mind never being able to open one or lock the other.

We are upgrading our mobile home and this is the 6th jeld-wen V-4500 horizontal slider window we have installed. We had no issues installing them and so far we are very pleased with how they look and operate. The only downside is it takes about 4-6 weeks to get them once you place your order. So, plan ahead.

Jeld-Wen came out to my house three times to replace a defective window in my bathroom. The first time they came they miss-measured the window, the second time they forgot to order one with privacy glass, and the third time they forgot to bring the window when they came to do the work.
The manufacturer obviously has a competency problem, their warranty repairs are worthless. At this point I regret installing Jeld-Wen and if the option were available I would replace all the windows in my home with another brand and return the Jeld-Wenn.

As this window is an operable window, some slight adjustments to compensate for opening and window square-ness may be necessary during installation. Our process to manufacture vinyl windows is intended to build and assemble them in a square manner. Our welders that fuse vinyl corners of the main frame and operable sash are calibrated, our saws to cut lengths of vinyl material are calibrated, and our glass cutting equipment is calibrated in such a way to aim at ensuring over-all product quality and specifically square-ness. If our quality control allowed windows to be supplied out-of-square tolerances and this is not able to be resolved during the installation process, please consider returning them to your place of purchase for return and/or replacement.

Solid quality, looks great, works well, and easy to install
Shocking, but I had no window at all in the master bathroom. I'm on 6 acres with wooded conservation land behind me. Wanted a picture window with width longer than height but also that opened for ventilation and fresh air. This worked perfectly, installed easily, was perfectly square, and I'd buy again for this application. Did most of the work myself but hired a carpenter for the final install and vinyl siding work as this was on the second floor and I'm afraid of heights. He commented positively on the quality.

Gaps in vinyl around glass I outside of windows.
Why does every single window that I purchased in the 4500 series have gaps in the vinyl around the glass on the exterior? All this work to install and they look terrible.

OK but not great DONT BUY VENT LOCKS
The quality is good but not great, the vent locks are cheaply made difficult to operate and pop out of the frame regularly. After 9 months the glides the panes slide along are working alright but I am suspicious of their longevity . On one of our windows, one of the panes was actually installed backwards so that the e-glaze did not work properly. Overall the value was good but watch closely to see that you get what you paid for and DONT BUY the VENT LOCKS

Excellent windows
Windows are excellent quality and installed easily. One of the window locks was damaged during shipping, but jeld wen customer service was amazing. The window lock arrived shortly after free of charge.

Nice window ... poor Customer Service
Product ok, a few flaws.. I am QC Process Engineer (Ret). Needed to clean up edged of frame where glue?sealant leeched on to glass. Very easy.
