Great pool paint
First time pool painter. Paint was a nice consistency and as easy to apply using rollers and brushes. Clean up was easy and best of all, my 45 yr old pool looks beautiful.

Pool paint
I love this paint! Application was easy and I liked the fact it dried (to the touch) so quickly to minimize leaves and other wind blown things from sticking. The color was exactly as advertised and looks wonderful now that the pool is full. I would recommend a second coat just like the instructions advise. Cleanup is easy with water. I purchased the HD recommended amount and it worked perfectly. That is why I buy from Home Depot. Highly recommended!

Great product great value
It has held up very well, but only had pool filled for two weeks. Prep work was extensive, First I drained and power washed entire pool, next I used an orbital sander with 80 grit paper and sanded entire pool, then power washed again. Then I waited a couple days for it to dry. I cut in with a brush and rolled the rest. I painted both coats at night so it wasn't applied in the sun. I waited 6 days with no rain before I refilled pool. I have a 35000 gal pool and only used 5 gal of the 7 gal I ordered. Covered really well. We used Royal Blue it looks very good. Price was GREAT compared to pool stores!

GOOD LOOKING POOL
Bought 4 gallons of paint and wound up putting 3 total coats of product on my pool surfaces-pressure washed and muriatic acid to prepare-it gives such a deep blue color and looks very professional-a great product and great price

Worst excuse for pool paint ever
Prepped the gunite pool surface to the letter. Painted pool and let it sit in hot sun for 4 days. Filled up pool. Within 30 days, paint started to come off with pool vac. Drained pool 6 months later to start over.

Fountain pool paint
This was the best pool paint that I have used here or anywhere else. The application is easy, the flow of the paint after application removes all brush strokes, and cleanup is a little tedious because the adherence is great. I highly recommend this for your pool use. This is a tribute to the Santa Barbara dolphins!

Works as expected
I have an inground pool, gunnite, 16x35, ~26K gallons. I ordered 5 gallons of this paint based on their guidelines for a pool of my size. I ended up using only 3. First painted it 10 years ago with a different brand. It was time to do it again. Drained pool, presure washed it, patched up, and painted. It was very hot day and I started early. I started with the sides then the bottom. By the time I was done with the first coat, the sides were completely dry so I started with a second coat. So 2 coats on the same day. You'll want the pool to be completely dry. So if you have any patches where water is seeping through from the surrounding ground, you'll have to chisel that out, patch it up, let that dry and then paint. Any humidity on the surface of the pool will keep the paint from sticking. As mentioned before, I first painted the pool 10 years ago. The product used then was pretty watery. This paint is a bit thicker than your regular latex paint. Not much, but thicker. The resulting coat in the pool feels a bit rubbery, which I like. I definitely recommend the product. Speedy delivery from HD too.

Nice purchase
Paint covered really well, with very nice blue color. Went on easy with brush and roller, and was easy to clean up. One thing that is different with this paint is that we are not getting the faded white from the chlorine floater which is a plus. So far so good. We usually paint pool each season to spruce it up. I will use again next year....

Excellent Product
Reasonably priced. Shipped and received in good time. Product performs exactly as they said it would. Went on quickly and smoothly. Cured with no problems. Looks fantastic. Even took back the extra two cans I'd ordered, no problem. All in all, an A+ experience.

What a difference!
After living for three years with the ugliest pool ever and not ready to make the $3-5 thousand dollar investment in new plaster, I decided to research pool paints. After looking at several options, I decided on the Insl-x for a number of reason. My biggest reason for purchasing the Insl--x at Home Depot, was the assurance that this product was easily available and that the supplies would be fresh. It was hard to overlook the economy of the paint which was 1/3 the cost of other types of pool paint. After throughly prepping the surface, the paint was amazingly easy to apply and covered well in two coats. I've had my pool re-filled for two months now, and I can already tell the paint will definitely make keeping the pool surface clean in the coming summer. Because the surface is much smoother now, fine dirt and algae have nothing to cling too, and running the vacuum over the surface is so much easier now. I know that at some point, I will need to make the investment in replaster, however, I would defiitely recommend this product to anyone looking to improve the appearance of their pool on a budget.

BLEACHES WHITE
Predictive of what was to come, soon after filling the pool, pure white bleach spots appeared under the floating chlorine dispensers on the bottom of the shallow end the pool and under the pool ladder on the deep end (where the floating dispensers momentarily hang-up in their trip around the pool.) In less than 6 months my entire pool is heading toward white. I chose the darker Royal Blue, but now it's much lighter, and I'm guessing that by Spring 2014 (it's Nov..1 2013 today) perhaps the pool will be as white as the first pool step? (see image) So, if you use floating chlorine tablet dispensers, if you have a ladder or any other pool feature that would cause a pause in the dispenser's trip around the pool, you may want to be concerned about that? And longer term perhaps there is something chemically problematic with stabilized chlorine tablets vs. the paint?

Pool Paint
We bought 2gal for our 10000gal pool and covered everything with one coat. If we could do it again I would recommend two coats. During this process we learned a ton about paint. If you're applying one coat make sure you wait 5 days for the paint to cure before refilling! Overall, this covered up the bad plaster very well and made most area's more smooth. I've also noticed that the pool algae that builds up on walls if 100 times less than before with plaster. One more thing to add, if your like me thinking of paying 5K+ for plaster is a waste of time! GO WITH THE PAINT it will save you time and money!

Works great if you take the time to do it right
After getting a $3000 quote to plaster my small pool, I decided to paint it instead. The plaster was in perfect condition so I couldn't see paying someone to "rough it up" just to reapply more plaster. Rented a pump from Home Depot tools which drained the 18,000 gallons in about 7 hours. Washed down the plaster with TSP and rinsed and drained again. Used masking tape on the tile and jets. Put the paint on in three very thin coats with a roller and let dry for 24 hours between coats. Directions said to let it cure for at least a week but I let it cure for two weeks (but had to bail rain water a couple of times to keep the bottom dry.) They recommend mixing sand with the paint when antiskid is desired for a good reason. Paint is really slick when wet as I found out when I was bailing water. Made sure to coat the steps with the paint/sand mix so no one slips getting in or out. Final look was really nice and pool has been full of water for about a month now with no peeling etc like some other reviews mention.

So far so good!
After acid washing our pool that already had multiple coats of paint on it we applied this paint per manufacturer's directions and it looks great! We have only had it full for about a week now but everything looks great. We will see how long it lasts! I looked into the same type and color of paint at my local pool store. Even they were amazed at the price on Home Depot's website. It was cheaper than their cost! I have a large, approx. 20' X 40' kidney bean shaped pool with a 13' deep end, and I only used about 6 gallons with 2 coats. Recommended on the label was 9! Good thing I only purchased 7.

Good price/ goes on nicely/ already peeling in high traffic areas
I bought this product because it was well priced. It's goes on thick, so you don't need a lot. My in ground pool is about 8 feet deep and about 15 feet long and it only took 3 gallons and 2 coats to cover the pools' surface area. My only issue is that the pool has been filled with water for only 4 days and we waited 5 days to fill it after painting and it's already starting to peel off in a few areas. Hopefully that isn't going to be a huge problem...but I guess we'll see. My suggestion would be to do more than 2 coats, maybe that would have prevented to peeling.

Great Paint
We used this on an 8 foot deep 35.5' X 15' pool and we used 5 gallons. We bought an extra gallon just in case but did not need it. We used 3 rolls of blue painters tape to mask everything off. We put 2 coatings on the pool. The instructions said to water down the first coat but we forgot to do that. The pool looks wonderful, we painted it with 9" rollers and it took about 4 hours to do one coat with 2 of us painting it. The second coat took 2 hours, because the paint didn't need to soak in to all the pits in the concrete. We also painted the black stripe on the bottom of the pool where the slope starts with the same kind of paint. Make sure you prep your pool well. If you have a concrete pool. make sure and acid wash and clean the pool as best you can. Make sure you let this paint dry for 4-5 days so it cures properly. Hopefully this will last 3-5 years. Time will tell.

Easy to use and value priced
Having used other brands previously, this product has been comparable in every way, and at a very competitive price . Pool painting is only a bandaid, and even with very thorough and extensive preparations (from my experience), if the beauty lasts a full season or longer before problems begin (usually adhesion problems), then it's successful.

This product has great features.
This was my first ever pool to paint. I am new to the pool world. This pool is very old and in very bad shape. Look at the before and after pictures. You will see how great this product is. It has a semi gloss finish so "watch out" or add the grit to it. Haven't filled with water yet so I don't know if it will blister. I am very satisfied with the results at present.

Great Paint
My pool looks like a new pool. Love the color Ocean Blue. It was very easy to apply and the down time was very little. It made the least mess of any pool paint I have ever used. Do your prepe work and make sure your pool is clean. Make sure you do the acid wash before applying the paint. I would get one more gallon then you think you might need. I have bought the very expensive paints and like this one better. I am so glad I can post a picture and I cannot wait to have my guest over this weekend.

Great Pool paint for the price
This paint was easy to use, covered well and made our pool look like new again. The instructions gave us a good tip as well that proved to be quite helpful. (add 1 pint of water to first coat for better coverage) Second coat was easy and covered very good. I recomend this paint to anyone.

Had been using Ramuc for the last 15 years but was unable to get a timely delivery this year. So far this product has been the equal of Ramuc regarding coverage and appearance upon completion. Will it hold up as well over the next two years? Time will tell.

Buyer Beware
We purchased five cans of this paint to repaint our pool for the summer. We followed prep instructions explicitly, applying two coats and waiting the required time before filling. Initially we were amazed at the color, however, one month in and the paint is chipping in several places. It looks really bad. We were planning on hosting many outdoor parties throughout the summer and now have to rethink our schedule. Very disappointed!
