When I first got it I thought the color was perfect and it looked amazing. Matched my sink perfectly. Put it in fits perfect and does what it is supposed to. Few months go by and I'm still happy with it until I am so unsatisfied I'm actually mad. It has faded so badly that it just looks horrible. What a waste of money because now I have to purchase another one and hope that the color matches and that it does not fade as well. I've only ever washed my sink out with water nothing else.

Hi, Emily. We understand how you feel about this, and we're sorry to hear that the flange's finish has faded. When it is exposed to chemical or abrasive cleaners, discoloration or a dulling of the surface may occur. Also, powder-coated finishes tend to be more delicate and may scratch or peel over time. If there's anything else that we can do to help, please contact us via https://support.insinkerator.com/app/ask. Thanks.

Flange installed easy and looks great. Unfortunately the colored coating is now chipping away from the flange about a year later. This new flange is the replacement that I had to order!? ;o(

Hello HappyinNC! Thanks for sharing your feedback. You must've been surprised that the finish on the sink flange had chipped. Powder-coated finishes tend to be more delicate and may scratch or peel over time. What do you typically use to clean it? When subjected to chemical or abrasive cleansers, the surface may become discolored or dull. A moist towel should be used to clean it. Please contact us at https://support.insinkerator.com/app/ask to see how we can assist you further.

Life-changing convenience
I’ve been wanting to add an instant hot water faucet that matched my new Delta faucet in champagne bronze for a couple of years now. When I saw that this one featured FILTERED hot AND cold water dispensing I knew it was time to invest. This faucet has simplified my life and knowing that the hot water I’m making my teas and soups with is filtered is very reassuring. Also, the cool water it dispenses makes filling the coffee maker with fresh filtered water so easy. The design fits my aesthetic perfectly.

CHIPPED
Less than one year of use and large chip in the bronze finish. I do not use abrasive products AND have a grate at the bottom of my sink so no excuse. Trust the other bad reviews this products is BAD quality and not worth the price tag!!!

Hi, we're sorry to hear about your negative experience with your sink flange. Our quality control team are always testing our products to make sure you get the very best quality. The powder coated finish on your flange should last longer with proper care. We recommend using a damp cloth for cleaning purposes. We bought this to match our sink. Chipped after a month. We didn’t do anything that should have caused it.

I sink aerator
I have punched two of these instant hot water tanks. The first one was fine for three months, then it leaked under the sink slowly causing mold and mildew and damaged the floor under the sink and kitchen. I took it back where I purchased it and they told me they couldn’t help me as I did not purchase the extra warranty at the time of purchase..I waited about six months and wanted to try another unit thinking maybe it was just that unit and soooooo I perched another as the sales person said they quit making the units with plastic bladder. They were stainless steel bladders now. After less than a year and two plumbers later it leaked a unplugged it and put a bowl under the unit to let it finish draining so that it would not damage anything else. Lowe’s said they had just too many problems with them and quit carrying them.

Sticky faucet, won't close
The faucet stuck in the ON position early on. Some WD-40 took care of it for a while so I ignored it for a year. Now it won't shut off. There is a post on how to fix this but its no easy task as the faucet must be removed from the counter. I will try it but the design is bad. In a kitchen, dirt and debris will eventually get into the button and stop its ability to pop up.

Hi abb07, thanks for sharing your comments. The Oil Rubbed Bronze sink flange has a baked, powder coating on the stainless-steel flange. Powder coated finishes tend to be more delicate and may scratch or peel over time if exposed to chemical or abrasive cleaners as well as any sharp item that might scratch, nick or gouge the finish. We recommend using a damp cloth for cleaning purposes. Be assured that we have stringent quality control methods in place to ensure you receive a high quality, long-lasting product. Your feedback is important to us and will be shared with our Engineering and Quality Control team.

Very Disappointed
We remodeled our entire kitchen. I incorrectly relied on the insinkerator brand as being of higher quality. The oil-rubbed color was cheaply painted on and began to chip almost immediately. Foir months later: see picture. Just keeps peeling away. The flange is $30 and not easy to replace. And why replace it when it's just going to fail again.

Easy fix for the sticky button
Even though there are reviews mentioning the sticky button, in my case the sticky button caused the faucet to drip a little, but I have managed to fix it in a simple way.
See the attached pictures for more details.
In nutshell: take apart the faucet starting with the small screws and plastic spacer. Keep in mind that the button does not have any spring inside, so the solution is to tighten a little bit the inner metal cylinder (assume the main valve) with the little thread (less than a full round). It is marked with red on one of the pictures. Assemble the faucet and check if the button sticks or the faucet leaks. If not, you are ready.

Easier install than expected
I was replacing an older Insinkerator hot water dispenser and wanted to add filtration. I thought this might be a little tricky but was pleasantly surprised. The dispenser model I ordered was the "Invite H-Contour." I already had the 1/4" fitting from the old dispenser so it was just a matter of mounting the dispenser bracket and routing hoses. The quick-connect fittings concerned me, they seemed too simple to work. I slid the included plastic hose into the inlet side, and connected it to the valve with the supplied insert, ferrule and nut. On the outlet side, I slid in the copper pipe directly from the dispenser itself. This is one area the instructions were a little unclear. There's a Y-adapter included with the filter and it says to use the included plug with a hot-only dispenser. Reading more closely, it turns out it is needed only for the dispensers with the faucets that have levers or push buttons. Their water inlet is slightly different. For the H-Contour the copper pipe goes directly into the filter head piece. At any rate, the hardest part was mounting the bracket roughly level, and hand-bending the copper pipe from the dispenser head to curve smoothly into the bracket.

The Insinkerator is a replacement for another brand of instant hot water tank and dispensor. A number of years back we had an Insinkerator and loved it. Went with a different brand because we liked there dispenser/faucet and it matched the kitchen faucet better. I regretted that decision. When the other brand's tank started leaking, I replaced everything with Insinkerator (tank, filter, and dispenser). Better water temp control, larger capacity, faster heating on refill, quieter, and smoother operation of faucet. We use this product every day--love it for hot drinks and starting any cooking with hot water. Love the 3 yr warranty of Insinkerator

Faucet provides separate levers for filtered hot and cold water
This faucet replaces a previous Insinkerator faucet of similar design and function. The previous faucet was leaking from the hot water lever that could have been rectified if a special tool and replacement washer was available. Because Insinkerator does not provide such parts, I had to purchase a new faucet at considerable cost.

Home Depot offered the best price and availability of the replacement InSinkErator Instant Hot Water boiler unit which arrived three days after the online order had been replaced. It was a drop in replacement for the old unit that had been installed in February of 2010 (this unit lasted for 7 years which is longer than most of these units). The water passing through this unit is filtered by an Everpure H300 filter which has probably helped to extent the life of the boiler along with the fact our water is not hard to begin with. The old unit stopped heating water and did not experience a water leak like some have reported. I set the temperature at the halfway mark which produces very hot water and I may reduce this temperature slightly.
I did chat with a Home Depot representative who was very informative & helful.
Four stars for now - five later if the new boiler lasts beyond 5 years.
i did disassemble the old boiler and it is make entirely of stainless steel as the new, replacement unit is advertised as having.

This hot water tank/filter and insinkerator faucet feature are exactly what I've been looking for virtually all of my life. To be able to make instant tea or instantly blanch asparagus or add hot water to anything else I could think of to reduce my cook time is what I've always wanted as a tool in my kitchen. I couldn't be more excited to find a new use for it almost everyday.

I've only had this particular unit for a few weeks, but I had the previous model for 5 years and it worked great until about a month ago, then wouldn't heat the water above 160 anymore. Nowadays, 5 years is pretty good for these types of appliances. My only disappointment so far with the new on is that I had to replace the water connectors because the newer model uses a different size. I was hoping for "plug and play."

Great Product, Minor Difficulties in Installation
We just moved to a new home, and installation of an Insinkerator Instant Hot Water and Filtration System was one of the first things we did, even before hooking up the washer and dryer! The connections from the Insinkerator Faucet to the tank and the filter are easy to make and clearly described in the instructions. The only hang-up is step 6, which simply states that you are to make the connection to the cold water supply. Knowing that there are probably many variations on the water supply in a home, it is understandable that Insinkerator is nor more explicit. However, getting the right fittings (a "T" to connect to the cold water shutoff valve, a separate shut-off valve for the Insinkerator system, and additional 1/4" compression fittings for plastic tubing that are not provided) required trips to two hardware stores to understand and obtain what was required. We had luck with a small mom and pop plumbing store, where we got personal help, versus a disappointing experience with a big box store on this hook up issue.
The Insinkerator Instant Hot Water and Filtration System is a great addition to the kitchen, as water from the tap can be used to make hot tea, iced tea, or any beverage requiring hot water, and we use it daily for this. We also got the faucet that provided cold filtered water, which is a great convenience and improvement over the city water. Be sure and buy an Insinkerator faucet, as faucets from other manufacturers are not compatible with the Insinkerator tank connections.
Our experience has been that Insinkerator stands behind their warranty fully, and will provide a discount, if an out-of-warranty system fails and needs to be replaced.

Cant do without this… seriously!
I have had this dispenser now since my last kitchen renovation, the lever stopped working after the warrantee expired , but they sent me a new one anyway for free. It is something that I must have in my new custom build, so I am buying it again for the second time with no reservations. You really have to own one to understand how many times you use it for tea. coffee, hot cereal, sauces etc. It is an indispensable dispenser. LOL

Great Instant Hot Water system
Although at first I was disappointed with InSinkErator due to the old unit developing a leak (fairly common from what I saw researching on the Internet), I was pleasantly surprised with the ease of retro-fitting the new unit. Many times a replacement appliance involves new mounting, hoses, fittings, etc. and working under the sink is not on my list of favorite pastimes. The instructions clearly outlined the replacement procedure which was a snap - the new unit dropped right into the old mounting screws and the hoses connected right up by hand. After completing the installation the unit heats up water quickly and you are ready to go. The only thing I did not realize was that the old filtration system works with the new unit, so there was no need to buy the new filtration. I saved that for when my old replacement filters are obsolete!
