Wow this door is huge but it gives my dog plenty room to get in and out and it was his first time using a pet door and he did it in just few minutes learning. So far it works great!

I used this for a wall opening. I am doing some remodeling and wanted this in the wall, although it is not wide enough for the wall I created a box for it out of 2x4's and mounted it on the outside. I am going to order another one for the inside wall thus having double protection against the elements. Easy to install and so far works as it should.

I recently installed two of these pet doors. What I really like about these pet doors is that the inside of the frame through the door completely conceals the door edges, unlike the old worn out and discontinued Johnson doors that I replaced. These pet doors have a nice clean finished look. I also like that the door flap is clear so that our dog can see through the door before going through. The flaps seals out drafts fairly well despite the fact that it's only a single flap. They do make some loud clicking noises as a magnetic strip seals the bottom of the flap when it closes, but I prefer hearing when our dog goes in and out of the pet door...so that's a plus for me. Installation was simple and includes a template to mark the rectangular opening and screw holes. I found it easier to just cut the opening using the template, insert the frame flush with the door, then drill using the screw holes as a guide vs. using the template to mark the holes. I just drilled through the frame's screw holes into the door a little more than half way through from each side while doing my best to make sure I was drilling straight and level (my Ryobi drill has a built-in level). I never ran into a problem doing it this way. The plastic slide used to block the door goes in easily and locks in place. Finally, Home Depot had really good pricing on the doors and I ordered online and picked up at the store.

Swinging Door mechanism works great and my yorkie figured it out immediately. I actually adapted it to fit thru a thin wall in my screen room rather than thru a door and it works fine.

Well worth the money. Good quality product. A little challenging on the install with a steel exterior door (difficulty aligning screws due to foam core) but very glad, as are my dogs, I replaced the former plastic dog door with this product.

I installed this door in a wall with louvered glass panels (4" x 44" ea.) I removed 7 of the glass panels, made a 2" x 2" frame around the hole and used a piece of plywood to fill the excess opening. I used another piece of "2 x 2" for a frame for the dog door. Installing the dog door was easy, just screw it to the frame. We have small and large dogs, so I taped the magnet down to make it easier for the small dogs figure out how to get thru. After that I removed the tape and the magnet holds the door shut.
The instructions that came with the door for installing it in the wall or a house door were great. Simple and concise, they included a cutout template to make the hole exactly the right size. Excellent instructions.
My only regret is I didn't install this door years ago.

I have a metal door, but I do not know if it is steel or aluminum. I was able to use a jigsaw to cut the door, but I had to do one side at a time. I purchased a metal cutting blade for it and it got bent because it was hitting the other side of the door, but then I just cut it at the bend and straightened it out. It takes pretty precise measuring on both sides to get everything aligned properly since you should be cutting one side at a time, but it can be done. I removed the door and put it on wooden horses which made the task much easier. I tried to make the cuts while the door was still installed like the video shows, but that is not easy with a metal door like it would have been with wood. The instructions say not to place the bottom of the template below 4" from the bottom of the door, but I think with a metal door you can place it lower like I did. Mine was 2" from the bottom since I have two mini pigs (about 80 lbs each now so not so mini anymore and with their bellies only a couple inches from the floor) but their legs are very short so I am glad we had a metal door that I think supports a lower installation than is recommended. We also have a boxer who is much taller than the pigs, but his doghouse door is the same height so he is used to bending his legs to get through a door so I was ok with installing the door at this height. Also, as mentioned before, I used one of the panels for a template instead of the paper template since the panel was easier to work with.

I purchased this over a month ago to replace what I thought was the same one. (old one was in the house when i bought it. No brand name on it) It was a little bit of a different size, but looked identical. So i had to cut a bit more off the vertical length of of the door to allow this new dog door to fit. The old one was missing the flap. so I tried to replace the flap first, but the replacement flaps didn't fit. So i bought this complete set.
Looks great and went together easy enough. I have two small dogs. 10lbs and 5lbs. Neither dog will go through with the flap down. They were used to the old one where the flap was cut out. So I have to pin up the new flap. I think the magnets and the metal thing on the bottom freak them out because it makes a clicking noise. I have to keep working with the dogs to get them to use it properly. They are small sensitive dogs, so if they were bigger they might not care as much. And I couldn't have bought a smaller dog door size, because this size was already in the door when i bought the house.
I would've given it 5 stars had my dogs learned to use it. (It's been a month and they haven't gotten it yet.) With the flap down it blocks cold air from getting in the house. that's why I like the idea of the magnetic flap. I just have to train my dogs better. :)

Good quality product!
Like many other reviewers mentioned my holes didn't line up while installing. This however isn't a defect since I checked the alignment with the template and both sections before I installed. Everything lined up. It must have to do with slight variations in positioning of the two halves and whether you drill the holes true. It was a simple issue to fix and I don't believe it's the fault of the product. My two Huskies love it and find it easy to use.

Perfect for mobile home screen door
Mobile home doors are shorter than house doors. After looking for weeks at dog and cat doors this was the only one with perfect outside dimensions and that 20 lb. Shih Tzu would fit through comfortably.
I did add lathing strips around frame to ease any wear and tear on thin aluminum panel and added caulk to frame before tightening screws down for final installation. We had been propping door open so pup could go out on screened porch. Utility bills went way up. This will pay for itself in a month or two. Pup took about 5 days to be totally comfortable with it. Now she is in and out all day long. Easy to install. Magnets work perfectly. Even though it is white it looks good. Sturdy and well made.

Awesome doggie door for larger dogs!
We have a Boxer/Dane mix that likes to go out and explore all the time. Sometimes he just likes to stick his long neck out to see what's going on outside. The magnetic attachment works great to latch every time when not in use. I was concerned that air would be coming in/out, but it doesn't. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the see through aspect of the door itself. Wish it was a darker shade or tinted.

Great quality of materials and design, BUT be careful with position of cutout location!
My only complaint will be with the INSTRUCTIONS. It said to CENTER the cutout opening on the door. Did that, made the cut-out, installed the pet door into my porch panel/screen door, THEN realized my mistake when I went to install the sliding drop-down security panel...my automatic screen-door closer was in the way! DUH, I should have thought of that!
BUT, it could have been avoided if the instructions mentioned the NECESSITY of being careful to make sure that NOTHING must be in the way of the security panel operation. THEN I would have located the cut-out "OFF-CENTER" on the door to avoid the automatic closer. That note would have saved me A LOT of frustration. I made it work for me by removing the pet door frame and re-installing it "inside out". Now the security panel is on the outside instead of the inside. OH WELL. Still "works".

It’s ok, but I liked the plastic ones better. It lasted for 27 years and one flap replacement. I don’t know how or if the flap can be replaced. The size was different and I had to hire someone to install it.
