Lifesaver! This is genius and I wish I knew about it years ago. My Shepard/husky learned it in just a few days with treat rewards and positive reactions ! Now we don’t have to come home early to let her out for the bathroom! She can come and go as she needs anytime! It’s amazing! Easy to install!!

Great size for our goldendoodle puppy, it has really helped with potty training. Great quality product, seems to be well built.

I have been looking at dog doors for a long time. This was the cheapest one and I thought I would lose quality with it, was I wrong! It is perfect! Bigger than I expected as well as I got the XL. My dogs took to it quick and I love it! Still have to figure out how to get it perfectly I. By back sliding doors as I have a double patio door, but we will get there.

Door was just slightly taller than frame. Took tin snips to trim off 1/4" . The foam weather strip that came with the door, I did not use. I bought 3/4" larger weather strip window foam to give a great seal. My dog loves the door and I'm happy because he just goes out when he has to. No more opening and closing the door every few minutes. Overall the installation was easy after trimming the adjustable plate. About 20 minutes to install. We are very happy with our purchase.

The dogs love the door, had to glue in the plastic piece that the door flap magnetizes too. That's why I did not give a five star review.

We absolutely love this doggie door. Now our pups(a Lab mix and an American Pitbull) have the freedom of coming in and out, and we do not have to constantly get up to let them do so. We would definitely recommend this product to others.

WE LIVE IN A RURAL AREA ON ACREAGE AND ARE HOME ALL THE TIME, SO MY HUSBAND INSTALLED THE DOG DOOR DIFFERENTLY BY PUTTING THE DOG DOOR IN TRACK FOR OUR SLIDING SCREEN DOOR. THIS ALLOWS US TO CLOSE AND LOCK OUR GLASS SLIDING DOOR WHEN NOT IN USE AND ALLOWS US TO EASILY OPEN THE DOOR AND WALK OUT ONTO OUR DECK. WE PUT SOME DECALS ON THE GLASS DOOR SO OUR DOG KNOW WHEN THE GLASS DOOR IS OPEN AND SHE CAN USE THE DOG DOOR. WE LEAVE THE GLASS DOOR OPEN ALL DAY AND CLOSE AND LOCK IT AT NIGHT. WE HAVE A DOG THAT SLEEPS IN A LARGE CAGE IN OUR MASTER BEDROOM AT NIGHT AND WOULD NEVER USE THE DOG DOOR A NIGHT. SHE HAS ADAPTED WELL TO THE DOG DOOR AND USES IT DURING THE DAY WITHOUT US EVER HAVING TO TAKE HER OUTSIDE. THIS IS A GREAT PRODUCT.

This product saved my life. Maybe not literally, but it did save me from getting up once or twice every night, from about 12:30 to 4:30 when my aging dog felt nature calling (and by nature, I mean potty, but also other dogs barking, random sounds, wind in trees, etc.). I have only a sliding door to the backyard in my home in Florida and was skeptical that this would work. I wanted to put a hole in the cinder block wall and install a regular dog door. Very costly. So we decided to try this first and see if it would work. It works perfectly and now I sleep through the night and I don't even know how many times my dog goes out. The only bad thing, and this is not at all the fault of the pet door, is that the sliding door can only open about 15 inches once it's in place. Easy for me, but not for my husband.... So maybe we will eventually get the hole through the cinder block. But for now, I recommend this door if you have the same situation.

We thought this door would be best for us because of it's large door; we have four large dogs in our small house with two small children. I wanted to say the door is GREAT! It's very sturdy, VERY easy to install, LOOKS GREAT and the dogs (and children) used it the first day!! WE LOVE THE DOOR!

We were coming home to accidents with our newly rescued Basset Hound and we had a Black Lab and a Boston Terrier as well. The 15 x 20 door is perfect for the large Black Lab and we don't have to rush home anymore. Of course the Basset Hound can dig up the back yard while we're gone but that's not the door's fault. One unexpected bonus, the grandkids have a blast going in and out the dog door too. The door installation was pretty intuitive which was a good thing since the instructions were pretty "thin". As with most of the other reviewers it doesn't leave you much room to go in and out of the space that's left over but just consider it incentive to stay slim. ; )

We purchased this pet door for our Andersen sliding patio door. We knew ahead of time (based upon other reviews) that some extra material and work would be required for installation. Here is what we did: 1) We purchased extra magnets Model # 07001 for the pet door's flap. 2) We removed the spring-loaded aluminum top of the pet door. This allowed the pet door to fit more easily within our Andersen door. 3) We applied Frost King rubber foam Model # V25WA to the right and left sides of the pet door. 4) We applied Frost King weather seal Model # FAC3 to the top of the pet door and to the half-open Andersen door. 5) To keep the whole assembly tight, we jammed the Andersen door against the pet door using pieces of 2x4 lumber and wedges. We did not use the provided lock, because that would require drilling unwanted holes in the Andersen door. Look at the attached pictures for guidance on adding magnets. Good luck! Our large dogs really enjoy the door! Our giant chocolate lab fits through easily.

This door works great for our tall 115# German Shepherd. The door does not fit perfectly in our patio as our patio doors are only 76.5" tall - which I knew when I ordered it. It was easy to modify to get it to fit since we didn't plan on it being a permanent part of the patio door. It looks great, like the patio was meant to be that way, it's sturdy and well made, the flap opens easily and closes all the way. It works great and exactly as it states. We use it for temporary situations and found it very easy to put up and take down when needed. I don't think I would want it up all the time as us humans have to go through the door sideways to fit, which isn't ideal when carrying plates of food to & from the grill - although not impossible if you were planning on keeping it up. Training took a few minutes with one of us on each side with treats. He's a smart dog and new exactly what to do, it just seemed like he didn't know if it was allowed for him to go in and out whenever he wanted as he is used to ringing a row of bells for us to let him out! Once he realized he wasn't going to get in trouble, it was no problem.

Made very well. Magnet is strong. Weather stripping makes a nice seal.

This is the 2nd Ideal dog door we purchased. The first was sold with the house. We bought this one because the first one held up so well in all types of weather. Easy to install and maintain and our large dogs can come and go as they please. Highly recommend!

I wish we had looked for this 5 years ago! It has been such a great thing. I was worried my 80 pound Husky would knock it in or break it but both he and the 65 pound German Shorthair learned how to use it and now they dont wake me up at night! Easy to install and even an old dog can learn new tricks!

My door is 78 inches tall and the dog door doesn’t even remotely fit. It is far to tall. I’m sure it would work just fine if your door is 80+ inches tall.

Functions very well for a pet door. Adjustable height helps make installation easier. My dog’s back does not hit the door with the extra inches added on the pet entry door. Comes with a very good seal with the door jam and insulated strip for the sliding door edge. I used wooden slats to wedge the door into a snug fit. The pet door slat does make a bit of noise as it is slid into position.
