I had similar experience to others in regards to quality control. Uneven plating, stamping is inconsistent and in various places so tough to align to see all sizing in a row. Some sockets had peeling chrome and sharp edges. Cut two fingers taking them out of the bags. Holes drilled inconsistently so some would not sit on the husky brand socket rack organizers. Sizes included do not match stands. I received all of the sized on the .pdf spec sheet. Poor compared to other husky sets.

This is a good budget socket set for someone who already has drivers and finds it on sale. I got if for $55 bucks and it has already payed off. Some of the sockets have visual defects with the chrome on the inside but if that bothers you you can always take those ones back and swap them out.

Had to order and buy 2 boxes then return one to get a full set. Highly disappointed. The employees in the store did make sure I was taken care of and left with all my sockets that I paid for after having made 7 trips back and forth. The 1-888 dot com sales representative was very rude. I called explaining that I was missing a socket. I told him which socket I was missing (1/4"drive shallow 6 point 3.5mm) and he said that is was "not to worry. That is was such a small socket that I would never use it anyhow". I responded "I want all the sockets that I paid for". Finally got the 3.5mm socket after teeth and nails. Will not be recommending the 1-888 dot com sales team. They didn't even offer a 10% discount on the socket set for the troubles...

Quantity over quality. It's like home Depot took all their reject sockets and made a set out of them. Their are some sockets the numbers are so lightly etched you can't even see them until they almost hit you in the face. You put the sockets on a socket rail none of the numbers all land in the same spot. All slightly offset from each other. Normally husky stuff is pretty decent. I ended up basically giving these away. Bought the 230 piece set everything is flawless. But I went through multiple sets of the 200 and they all were filled with a lot of junk. Can you please explain. Was the QC Guy off that week. Not a fan of the Don't Care Home Depot attitude. When you try getting some help.

Great set for the price. To be picky the 1/2 drive is only 12 point instead of 6 point but for some it'll be a problem. Others it's okay. But for lifetime warranty and a whole set it's great.

Great sockets for the price. I had none missing and no duplicates. The only issue is the print is hard to read on sockets. Otherwise very satisfied.

Wanted to get a spare set of sockets but opted out for a HF plastic socket rails. Got 5 rail sets and it worked fine with coupon under $20 If i wanted to change drawers to a narrow one i can lay them rails down.

Good set of sockets! I mostly use metric sizes but still a nice set. I will be giving these lots of use with less hunting and pecking for the right socket.

This is a deal to behold. Nowhere else can you get this much socket shaped metal for this price. That said, it is exactly that, metal roughly shaped like sockets. The quality control on these sockets is aweful!! I had to buy two sets to make 1 mostly complete set. I had to still swap out single sockets under warranty as both sets had bad ones. If you look at the single sockets on the shelf they dont look too bad. Even the separated socket packages are okay, but this bulk box is almost factory seconds. Almost 20% of the sockets had severe chrome issues, several were not formed correctly and had extra material remaining, some were already rusty, and others were extremely pitted. Overall, you get what you pay for. If you want cheap beater sockets with a great warranty, get them for that use, as the value proposition is good, and who cares if the first one you get is crap as you can just swap it out. But if you are looking for sockets that will be as nice on year 20 as day one, keep looking. These are not your granddad's tool truck sockets. They are very far from USA quality. I still gave them three stars, as if you have a local HD the no questions asked warranty process "mostly" makes up for the intial quality defects, but your gunna need to use it. Overall, if you are going to buy these, understand that the value proposition is based on that warranty replacement not on initial quality. They are junk sockets, but they get the job done at a price most people can afford, and just like I'm using them for, they are a decrntly cheap way to fill the gap in your socket set with sizes you might only ever use once in a lifetime. If you want a middle of the road socket set for everyday use without the tool truck price, look at Tekton as an alternative; HD sells them too (I am not sponsored or paid to say that. I have paid very penny for all my tools).

Several of the sockets are unpolished. It appears that the sockets are made in different Chinese factories with different standards. The numbering for socket size is inconsistent and hard to read on many of the pieces.

Bang for your buck I love it. Lifetime warranty easy. Customer service guaranteed me if one breaks I can bring it in and exchange it for a new one. Sold, happy with the purchase

Nice set with a large range of standard and metric sockets. Socket size markings are large and easy to read. I am impressed with the quality of the sockets.

This set offers a lot of sockets, which is what I wanted. However, I wish they all had the same type of deep stamped marking, but they don't. Some are laser marked; maybe 20% of them. There is no rhyme or reason as to which sockets are stamped and which are laser marked. The photo shows a laser marked sample in the best possible viewing angle. Less light and a different angle make them hard to read. Still, with the Holiday sale and with other discounts they came to $0.39 each.

None were missing some small ones were inside larger ones. Some are hard to read and will be a problem for people that cannot tell a bolt size by sight. other than that great set.

just a really nice set

It is a perfect set for any home mechanic, and probably most semi pros, the only reason I gave it 4 stars is because mine was missing a 3/8 drive 11/16 and had 2x 3/8 drive 5/8 sockets. It literally has more sockets than you can ever use for a diy mechanic, but that is exactly what I wanted, I was tired of looking for q socket and not finding it in any of my 3 sets. No more looking and not finding.

Was looking to replace my existing socket set that had seen better days. I already own ratchets, wrenches, hex keys, etc. so I didn’t need all the tools they add to the mechanics set to bump up the piece count. While trying to find the mechanics set that would best suit my needs, I stumbled across this set. Glad I did, it was exactly what i wanted, a socket set without all the fluff. Comes with 2 spark plug sockets and 198 sockets 1/2, 3/8, and 1/4 drive. Metric Sizes go from 3.5mm to 32mm, SAE sizes go from 5/32” to 1-1/4”. Both sets (metric and sae) skip some sizes, and sizes provided vary for each drive size and from standard to deep. Comes packaged in individual bags (no case) labeled with what is in each bag. While unpacking I went through and varified all correct sizes were provided and everything was in good shape. I couldn’t be happier, I now have a good, clean, complete set of sockets that should cover anything i need to accomplish, and a lifetime warranty to boot. Now i just have ro find a way to organize them all!

The Husky 1/4 IN., 3/8 IN., AND 1/2 IN. DRIVE SOCKET SET (200-PIECE) has every socket that you may need for all kinds of projects and automobile uses. The sockets come in both metric and standard styles. There are both six point as well as twelve point sockets. The set also has deep sockets in 1/4. 3/8, and 1/2 inch in both metric and standard. The sockets seem to well made and have a chrome finish. Each socket is etched with the size for easy identification. Very happy with this set. My tool chest is complete now.

Of course this review cannot cover every socket in this set but initial impressions show it to be a good set with a couple of caveats. First of all, need to inspect each socket once you get the set. While a small sample of the total sockets included, I did have a deep 1/2" drive 3/8" socket that while was broached good, the centering hole was off center and will present problems if used on a long shank fastener nut. Second peeve would be the set does skip a few sizes in the metric category like the 3/8" drive 20MM size and few others. So be sure to note that before buying. In functional use of the few sockets I have used, they appear to fit excellent for their given size with no excessive slop on the fastener in use.

The Husky sockets come with a lifetime warranty against failure. This is not a light weight collection by any means, the shipping weight was over thirty pounds. The sockets have a polished chrome finish and the size markings are stamped in large font so they are easy to read. It would have been a bonus if the size markings were of a different color than the socket finish but I’ve not found any difficulty reading the size as-is. There may be some DIY jobs that this kit can’t handle – but it covers a wide range of applications. I have a slightly smaller kit in my garage and an even smaller set in my 4x4 and those have proven to meet most of my needs. However, my basement shop was stripped to furnish the garage and the vehicle and the toolbox was looking a bit bare in the way of sockets – I had to trudge upstairs to the garage too often. This Husky set, not having a kit box, will go perfectly in my roll-around tool box. Having received them, of course, I couldn’t wait until I actually had a ‘honey-do’ job to complete; I had to find something that I ‘needed’ work on. So, I used a variety of the sockets to tighten the fittings on a table saw, re-secure a miter saw to a tool stand, and tighten up the nuts on my poor old work bench (which has seen better days) and a couple of other minor jobs that I’d not gotten around to doing (like a metal shelving unit that needed some TLC). Absolutely no issues with fit or finish of the sockets. The sockets did not fall ‘readily to hand’ being fresh out of the bags and not secured in my tool box drawer in some sort of order; if you get this set for yourself or give one as a gift (or both) plan on having something substantial to house the sockets. Since they will reside in my toolbox I intend to use socket rails. It will require a deep drawer, however – the 1” 12 point ½” drive deep well socket is 3” high. One note – there is no ‘warranty card’ or any such thing in the box; just a note on the box itself that the tools are “Guaranteed Forever” so you might want to hold onto your receipt in case there is an issue down the road. At the current market price, with a “Forever” guarantee, I think this set is quite competitive and the quality appears to be top notch. HTH Regards, Jim

So many people have mentioned that they received a few sockets that had poor chrome plating and maybe a few burrs on the inside. I did find (3) sockets out of 200 that the chrome wasn't the best on the inside. Let me remind everyone that you will not find another complete set like this for the price. Expectations have to be real. Try buying another brand with 200pcs and you are going to pay a minimum of triple this price. I don't have a single complaint. All 200pcs received and verified.

The set was great for a good price

let's start out positive, I absolutely recommend this product it's the most complete socket set you can buy at this price point (347pc), with that being said I am 10 - 12 pieces short, customer service from home depot was garbage and wanted me to return the whole thing, so I can get another incomplete set... they said I could reach out to husky, but customer service for husky like many other companies is redirected to India where you have no idea what they are saying, so add another 50$ for pieces your going to have to buy, and while your there buying those pieces take the ones back that they didn't chrome, you can't read the numbers on, or that have burrs.  90% of the sockets are ok, 10% need some love (badly). 10% will be returned the missing 12 will be paid for again, I dont know if its worth the hassle, but Its still pretty darn cheap.

The product arrived missing over 100 sockets. I had to return to store.

This is a very complete set! The price is fantastic to get pretty much any socket you will need. The only catch is there is NO storage for the sockets, which it tells you in the description so its not a surprise. They come in plastic baggies. Highly recommend this set and a couple sets of socket storage sticks
