There were small gobs of glue around the base of the pegs. We weren’t able to sand it off, so the glue could not be stained very well. Other than that, it was good. Good for the price paid.

I've been looking for a shelf with pegs, but found that they were more expensive than I wanted to pay. This one fit the budget, but I was a little apprehensive about quality. I'm pleasantly surprised. It was in good shape, the boards were all straight, and it looks great after a little paint, distressing, and a coat of wax.

Took stain and finish well. We are using it in our "Mud Room". Beautiful...

We sanded this and painted and it looks great in our sons room!

Poorly assembled. Ordered 5 and they were very inconsistent in the assembly. Need to be sanded and finished

The shelf is perfect and it arrived at the store on time. And the customer service was great!!

Could not stain the shelf, there was glue everywhere. Tried to sand the glue off, already soaked into the wood. The pegs have so much glue on them they do not fit all the way in the holes. The top and bottom of shelf also separated and cannot be pushed back together.

All boxes were opened and one shelf was completely broken, very cheap quality.

Once painting, easy, was done to match, looked perfect.

Stained it and it looks great.

Very nice piece happy with my choice

It was just what I wanted.

I did not realize the the shelves came unfinished and do not recall that fact when I was ordering. But as I didn't wish to go through the hassle of returning and reordering, I finished them myself. They needed lots of sanding and the stain took differently on each piece of wood.

Sorry to rate 1 star... :( If it was once I wouldn't but every time I order this shelf, I have to completely sand it and putty the gouges and nicks before I can paint it. I also had to chisel globs of wood glue off. This time, the gap between the shelf and back was so big I could not cover it or glue/clamp it successfully. Ended up returning it. Someone needs to take more time on these.

This shelf was perfect for our purposes. My daughter (14) wanted a shelf to display her soccer medals and trophies. The ones we found online were expensive so my daughter decided to get this one and stain it herself. A little sanding, stain and polyurethane and it looks fantastic on her wall.

The shelf was a little rough, but some sanding and quite a few coats of paint later, we are happy with it. It's solid and meets our needs.

REASONABLY PRICED! AFTER A LIGHT SANDING, WOOD CONDITIONING, 2 COATS OF STAIN AND 2 COATS OF POLYURETHANE SATIN FINISH WITH LIGHT SANDING IN BETWEEN WHAT A BEAUTIFUL RESULT!! IT WAS A GIFT FOR CHRISTMAS AND I JUST MAY GET MORE FOR MYSELF! JUST WISH THERE WAS A LONGER SIZE AVAILABLE.

I bought this to use as a sort of "mantel" because our fireplace doesn't have one, and I liked the idea of having pegs for stockings or small decorations, etc. However when I opened the box it did not come with pegs at all (it didn't even have hole-marks to indicate maybe you putting them in yourself). It was somewhat difficult to stain as the stain soaked in a lot more in some places than others. Also, I would suggest adding additional nails to keep it together, the wall brackets were half way off when I received it. It does it's purpose ok though, just really disappointed mine didn't have the pegs, that's why I ordered it!
