I have to Honda Lawnmowers they are the best lawnmowers I’ve ever owned I will be very disappointed if Honda quits making lawnmower s I do not want to buy any other brand so I would very appreciate it if you guys continue to make lawnmowers

My go-to mower. Typical Honda reliablity, unmatched cutting ability, superior vacuum performance for picking up leaves and a shame that Honda will stop production of the gasoline mower.

Used for Residential lawns at my home, If you stop mower and try and start again you cannot pull the start cord its jamed up, Mower is Rubbish

This mower received today, was provided as a replacement for identical mower I purchased three months ago that lasted about six weeks. The replaced mower failed due to cam shaft recall; flywheel cracked/broken; and muffler guard blown out. I've had multiple Honda mowers thru the decades, and all were excellent mowers. Hope the replacement received today, is dependable like the older Honda mowers were.

On my 2nd HRX in 3 weeks and it also has the hard to pull start problem so many others have posted about. Honda has no parts to fix this either which is unacceptable for a 1100 mower. Would not recommend anyone to buy until honda gets the pull start problem figured out and fixed!

I've been mowing lawns for 62 years and this mower is hands down the best I've ever owned and or used. The cut at 2" is the perfect height. Use of this mower is extremely easy and the option to set your speed is really handy. The deck is lightweight and super easy to keep clean. I haven't used the bag/mulch adjustment yet, because it does such a great job of finely cutting the grass. Super satisfied with this mower.

The mower is wonderful after 10 years. I regularly wax it, change oil, change air filter, change plug, use fresh fuel. However, it is starting to burn oil. The sales store claimed that it is a 20 year mower. I doubt that claim.

Recent purchase and after 2 hours of use, it appears to be a great mower.

I have an older one, love it. Saw this was the last year for lawnmowers and decided I better buy a new one.

My biggest complaint about this mower is that it is difficult to pull backwards because of the design of the rubber rear shield. Very poor design. My older Honda had a small plate hanging down from the rear axle which made it much more easier to pull the women backwards. There should be rubber guards around the top of the handlebar, blade control lever and the drive clutch lever because the black paint gets scratched when you push each one against the other. Although the grass bag holds a lot of grass, a lot of grass gathers up where the grass bag attaches to the mower. Also, the underside of the mower deck should have been designed to make it easier to clean. There are way too many nooks and crannies for grass to get stuck up in. Other than that, the mower does an excellent job at cutting grass.

I bought a HRX217HYA from a local shop this past Saturday. They started it and sent me on my way. No need to mow until last night when I nearly broke my fingers trying to start it. Didn't even touch one blade grass. Turns out that this is a KNOWN problem with the HYA as there is a bad batch of compression relief cams. Honda - really? Dealer gave me a 2nd mower, same problem. Now they have my money and mower waiting for the part. Not a great experience.

The cut quality is great, starts on the first pull, and hydrostatic drive system works well. The mower that this is replacing is a honda that has worked without fail for the last 22 years and still starts on the first pull to this day.

I used the mower for about 2 hours and it peformed very well in both tough weeds and lawn grasses. It performed well on hills and valleys in my backyard. However, when finished, I tilted the mower slightly as MANUAL stated and cleaned grass mulch out from under mower. When I tried to start mower - somehow it had vapor lock - I made sure I lifted it exactly on side manual stated but it still had vapor lock. The cord will not pull unless the spark plug is out…put plug back in and cord will not pull to start. I have 21 acres and have had multiple mowers, small and medium size tractors (fords and JDs, gravely, sears brand,and toros) over 40 yrs, and this is the FIRST vapor lock i have had. I plan to take to the dealer next week. The mower was purchased in March but I have idea they will charge me and arm and leg to fix it.

I think I'm on my 2nd season now. I love it! I used to have an HRX216HXA and did some maintenance work on it. I'm no small engine mechanic, but Honda mowers are put together well, and designed well. The one recommendation I would have is to pay the extra and purchase your mower at a certified local Honda dealer. I purchased an HRX217HYA from a big box store and found it came with a bent blade clutch lever. So I returned it. I went to my local Honda repair shop and bought it from there and paid extra so that they would unbox and prep it. I highly recommend this step as they will deal with delivery breakage instead of you and will make sure it runs. In the summer, I use the mulch function and in the winter I use the bag function and mulch bag all the leaves from my trees and gather them in a pile to compost. I love the self-drive. I don't use it a lot, but I love that it's there.

Just bought mower Monday. Tuesday mowed with it for about 15 minutes. It stalled, and has not started since. Seems to be a problem with starting assembly. Once it gets working, could give it a better rating.

Bought new, 7 days later pull cord barely moves and often the mower tries ripping the cord out of your hand. Hurts a lot. Dealer won't replace with a new unit, even though within 15 days of purchase. I've owned countless civics, crx, crx, integras. What happened to quality control?

I replaced my old Honda lawn mower with the updated model. It started on the first pull. It did an excellent job mowing. I highly recommend this product.

I’ve had my eye on this mower for a while. I finally pulled the trigger and had high hopes. The mower is so smooth and solid it’s unlike any other mower I’ve owned. The hydrostatic transmission is smooth and works great. The blade stop is the best option. I can’t give this mower enough stars.

I love the twin blade action. And the self propelled features with the adjustable speeds also the stop blade so you can leave the mower running while you step away. Very easy to start.

I wrote a review before, but later figured more problems. Something was wrong with the engine. Engine starting recoil system is defective. I am very disappointed to buy a brand new at this price for only 3 months and it has to be sent to repair.

For the past 5 seasons, I have been using my 21" EGO battery-powered mower. Although it did a decent job, I never could do a nice fall clean-up of leaves with it. I decided to return to a gas mower and went with the best one I could find, the Honda HRX217HYA. I couldn't be happier! I call this mower "The Beast" because it has such great suction, whether bagging the grass or leaves. I take pride in having a nice lawn and this mower makes maintaining it a pleasure. It's expensive but in my opinion, well worth the price!

The best mower that I have ever owned. It's really sad that Honda isn't going to make them after 2023. Unbelievable!! I'm 71 years. This is my 4th one and sadly my last.

Mower is ok. Honda quality is not there any longer. Carbs are made cheap and blade brake clutch constantly pops off while mowing. Needs drastic overhaul.

User manual precisely states “ Add the entire container of motor oil to the engine”. INCORRECT!!! The engine dipstick then showed it was overfilled. I drained out the excess and adjusted the oil level. Honda owner’s manual should state “Add half of the bottle of oil, check the oil level and adjust until the oil level is between the hash marks on the dipstick. The most important thing and Honda missed it by a mile.

I replace my TORO with a Honda HRX217HYA. I was looking for a stronger engine, quicker walking pace, and a clean cut with selectable bagging and mulching options. This Honda mower meets every criteria. The only issue I am getting use to is when the mower is idling, it seems to rattle. I will contact Honda and see if there is a correction I need to make. I used it for an hour and half and love its performance.

only used 1 time but it is great so far, cuts the grass with ease, love the blade stop and easy start, grass is thick my old mower needed help just to get through it.

Honda's are the best mowers I have owned. The last one I had lasted over 20 years and it does still runs. Just felt it was time for a new one.
