The exact same problem.
The magazine of this gun was poorly designed. It constantly allows a brad to get stuck Behind the magazine feed which causes constant jams. You don't realize it has jammed until what you think you nailed is loose. Very poor design with very low tolerances. I generally like Hitachi tools but this gun made me rethink my loyalty. Do not buy this gun. If you want reliability and don't want to wrestle with jams every few minutes you should buy something else. You will end up hating this gun and you will end up questioning the entire Hitachi line of tools. Then you will buy something else and try to sell this inferior product on a local seller website for a fraction of what you paid. Not worth the cost no matter how cheap you find it. I wouldn't take it if someone gave it to me. I have been a carpenter for over 25 years and I know my tools. This one is a total failure. DO NOT BUY.

Jammer
This nail gun kept jamming nails right from start. It was properly oiled before work was done. Had to return it. Not happy. I got another one for the same price - no oil required for life (Kobalt) - no problems whatsoever. Used for hardwood floor installation, baseboard, other household needs.

Faulty Design - Bad Brad Nailer
Professional user, big fan of Hitachi. The problem with this nailer is in the brad magazine - the spring mechanism does not hold your brads in place, and is prone to jamming. When your work day is interrupted by a jammed magazine every few minutes, its time to find a new tool. The jams are difficult to clear, and risk breaking the plastic magazine. I am grateful for the accomidating return policy at Home Depot.

Great Nailer
Ordered this nailer online and was delivered quickly and undamaged. Used nailer to make four drawers for under our bathroom vanity and it worked without any jamming, was lightweight and the directional vent is a nice feature keeping the exhaust away from your face.

HITACHI'S CORVAIR
Like the guy on 3/15 said, lots of jamming and feeding problems. I have been using Hitachis only for the past 35 years and bought this one for the flush nailer, that part I like. Don't know why they changed the design, but missed the boat on this one. As long as you are nailing flat or down it seems to work OK. Nailing vertical I have found that I can only load one strip of nails at a time. I you are only using it part time or not professionally it works fine. But you can't beat the nr83. Someone is probably still using the ones that they stole from me over 20 years ago that had well over a million nails through them.

Hitachi 3-1/2 in. 21-Degree Plastic Strip Collated Framing Nailer
I bought this on line and Hitachi 3 1/4" round head framing nails in store to nail my patio. The price and the shipping for the gun is excellent. The build looks sturdy and it is light weight so it is easy to carry around and on my arm. So far I used around 200 nails and to the last nail in the magazine without any jam.

excellent gun
An excellent value. I have run 7000+ brads and the gun has jammed only twice, in part my fault. I dropped a clip and it broke into two halves which I loaded...bad move. Both times I did this the gun would jam. Use full clips or whole partials..do not mix loaded gun with a partial..it will jam.

What a superb tooll!
Having borrowed a friends nail gun previously that leaked, occasionally fired two nails on top of each other, occasionally did not fire, was heavy and somewhat unwieldy I began looking at a nail gun all my own for my next project. I could not be more pleased with this Hitachi framing gun! No misfires, ever! Fine control of air pressure on the tool - fantastic and it works so well. Nails going in a bit deep because you've switched from setting rafters to placing blocks just turn the little dial a half to 3/4 and perfect depth adjustment without ever leaving your ladder. It is lighter than other guns but seems super sturdy and tough. One other reviewer mentioned the 'plastic' body - no way, metal all the way. Very little plastic anywhere on this tool. Very ergonomically pleasing, great grip and no-nonsense easy to use. And I NEVER write reviews on anything I purchase. That's how good a value this nail gun is!

So far a good little nailer
Licensed contractor, been using a NR83 for over 10 years and have put up countless houses with the same gun. Its getting tired, so decided to get another gun as backup; was hesitant to change, but decided its a little lighter and smaller and Im not getting any younger. Have had it for about a month now, so far its been flawless, same Hitachi quality, the smaller size was nice on a recent job puttin in roof blocks between rafters. If this thing last as long as my old NR83 I will be very happy. Only bad thing I can say is it doesnt have a rafter hook, but you can buy them for about $15...

Works great...missing one thing
Works great, solid build quality as it has fallen of a ladder many times which leads me to the only drawback, no belt hook. Much easier to hang on my hip then try and balance it on a ladder when doing crown.

This product is flat out dependable!
Three years ago I purchased this same compressor for an alternate easy to load and move around. I found that I used it as much or more as my larger compressor. I was able to frame, trim and use select shop tools without delay. I have just purchased 2 more of these compressors do to company expansion. I could not find them in stores so I located them on Home Depot web site and ordered them. With the tank size this compressor is not for any application but for its size it has served me well.

Great gun for walls
I say just walls because my experience with use on the trusses. It jammed the first day as I was firing on ridge blocks. It just wasn't able to pass through the gusset and from then on it was a guaranteed jam every time. I believe it might have to do with the strength of the piston material. And yes I aimed the gun to shoot through a hole in the gusset but the one on the other side jammed it. I hope this helps in your decision.

Could Be Great
I work as a high end finish carpenter and I picked this with my new Hitachi 15 gauge finish nailer (which is an awesome tool by the way). I have had great luck with every Hitachi nailer I have owned up until I bought this one a few months ago. Overall, the feel of the tool is great and the depth adjustment seems to work well. I also like the case that it comes with and the selectable bump fire. My one complaint about this gun is unfortunately a big one. This thing jams constantly, like as in two or three times per clip of brads. As far as I can tell, this is due to sloppy tolerances within the clip that causes the spring loaded piece that pushes the nails into the chamber to get shoved in next to the brads which pinches them in and prevents the clip from advancing so that you are just dry firing. It is simple to un-jam, simply open and close the clip, but when you are using it all day it gets frustrating. I have talked to several colleagues who have all had this gun and experienced the same thing. It is a shame that Hitachi does not address this issue because this would be a great gun if it worked consistently. I guess if you can pick this up really cheap, you are just using it lightly, and you don't mind unjamming it every 30 brads or so, it is an alright gun but I would still recommend getting a Senco or Porter Cable instead.

Way to go Hitachi
I bout this framing nailer to replace my old Dewalt nailer. Firs the home depot team shipped really fast. Regarding the nailer woooo One of the best framing nailer I have ever work with. Light weight easy to handle it. berry, berry well constructed super heavy duty materials. Some times wen I was using other nailers, you need to bump up the materials and the best way is to use the back of the nailer to do it. But always worry about doing it cause the materials was not that heavy duty. With this one no problem you can hit the 2x4 or other materials with out worry. Nailing materials is so easy, there is barely back impact, not like others, that wen you hit the trigger you get a strong impact. This one is a soft impact that make you feel like you in control of your nailer. The fixture of a fast nails is so cool. Just turn the lock pin to the fast set, pull the trigger and hold it and it will nail the material as fast as you impact every single time. Very fast for fences, plywood installation Etc. I recommend this nailer to any one that is looking to purchase one of this nailer, you wont be disappointed. Hope this help dose that are in the process of getting a framing nailer.

Fantastic, lightweight, easy to use Framing nailer
I have been using this nail gun extensively on a major home renovation and basement remodels. It has worked flawlessly. It is lightweight (which makes using it all day long easy) and durable. Due to it's light weight, I am careful to not drop it from any great height, but have dropped it and it continues to work flawlessly. Do not hesitate in purchasing this item. You will love it as I do.

This Hitachi framing nailer works flawlessly
Eats every brand of nail I feed it . Just squirt some Marvel Air tool oil into it every now and then. Beats the heck out of smacking your fingers with a hammer :). Just keeps on working day in and day out. I am very happy with this nailer.

good value,solid performance
I didn't complete my initial review on this product. It was bought in August 2013, for my laminate flooring project in my house. The Hitachi brand power tool was new to me after having many years of American brands tools. This tool came through with high five: no misses, jams or miss-fire and it's light weight-2.5 lbs. It has a detailed pre-operation adjustment procedures, but once it was done, the work is easy. Set the pressure gauge about 70-75 on the compressor, and don't forget to oil the gun 6-10 drops each time.

Good Product So Far
I've only had this product a few weeks to work on an outdoor shed and it has performed great. No problems. Versatility is nice since it shoots many different types of nails. I think if I treat this product well it should last a long time.
