We love it!! It looks way better than the standard one and is bright enough to cook and clean and entertain in our dining room and our kitchen.

This product was shipped to me from the return center, and the ballast did not work. The contractor spent an extra hour salvaging parts from my old light fixture in order to get this one to work. I'm extremely disappointed because I've left Home Depot feedback and reached out to customer service, and have not gotten any response for this faulty product. I spent more money having the contractor there for an extra hour than I spent on this product, so I would not recommend it.

We are selling our house and needed a new kitchen light, with the nickel accent, it was just what we were looking for. But it is very bright! Don't mind the picture, we are in the midst of painting as well! Highly recommend Behr paint!

Have a good aspect and looks good.. It is plastic..

This light is really pretty. We got it for our laundry room since it would be so bright and boy is it bright (hence the fluorescent)! It's larger than what I thought (dimensions were measured out) but it still looks amazing! We ended up getting 2 more for the master closet and storage room. Looks really nice up in all 3 spots!

A contractor installed 2 of these in my recessed kitchen ceiling (formerly a dropped ceiling with plastic panels covering the lights). They look great and provide plenty of light In what was a dark and gloomy kitchen. I love the new look.

I had purchased this light for my hallways. I love how large they are and how much light they give off. I liked them so much I also purchased one for my laundry room to replace the old florescent light fixture.

The installation of the fixture was an exercise in frustration. It was definitely a two person job, the most difficult part for us was sliding the base onto the screws to hold it to the ceiling. I strongly suggest you purchase better hardware separately. The light output is also less than I would want. I was replacing a larger, defunct T8 four bulb fixture in the kitchen, and had hoped to have the equivalent light output from this 2 bulb fixture, but sadly, no. I loved the ease of installation of the bulbs. No more struggling with T8's. These are plug and play. I have no issue with light leakage, as so many reviews mentioned. There is a halo of light around the fixture, which I believe is reflected light, a look I personally like. If I ever replace the ceiling fan in the same room, I will purchase the matching round fixture to compliment this one. In retrospect, this fixture would do nicely in a smaller room.

Excellent packaging to prevent damage in shipping/handling. The bulbs' connections don't give a positive feel, but it works so I guess that's the way it is supposed to be. The entire cover is formed plastic, just painted differently for the "bars." The glass effect is very good. The entire cover is easily removed by rotating it several inches and pulling it off. It puts out decent light from my 8-foot kitchen ceiling, although I have a galley kitchen (long) and installed three together in a line since I was doing a remodel from scratch. Wiring issue: since the ballast is directly in the center, the manufacturer offset the hole for the power wires beyond the edge of where it would sit over a metal octagon box. This could be a problem if the fixture gets pulled tight to the box and pinches the wires. A round box may have the same issue. It has 3 additional mounting keyholes near the outer edge that can be used instead of or in addition to the box mounting keyholes, allowing it to be offset from the electrical box as necessary.

Back panel , ballast and bulb assembly of light seem decently designed however the low quality of the "sienna" paint job is very disappointing. Scratches and missed portions of the sienna colored rings show up like a sore thumb when the light is on behind diffuser. Pictures included show this and I apologize for the quality but are the best I can produce when pointing the camera directly at a light source. I normally like Hampton Bay's products but this one looks like they've given up on Quality Assurance (it would have taken less than a moment for someone to hold the diffuser over a light and see the issues that I and others are writing about. This makes me question whether I will purchase additonal Hampton Bay products in the future if this is the quality that they deem acceptable for letting go out the door... The fix for them (hand the diffuser back to the painter and have him touch up) would have cost them a penny but paid huge dividends in not degrading their brand's reputation. I didn't expect a lot for my $49, but wasn't expecting to install a brand new light that my wife immediately looked at and said "that looks like we got it used somewhere and not in a good way". Now that it is installed I do not know if I will return it or see if I can correct the flaws using a marker as a previous reviewer stated they did... Makes me sad to see a decent brand lose their passion for quality.

I installed this flush-mount nickel assembly on a newly installed pine tongue and groove ceiling and it looks great I added an electric hoist for light duty lifting jobs and the hoist and nickel light assembly are a nice looking pair. The quality is good and installation was easy. I'm very pleased with the finished installation.

This light was easy to install, looks great and a great value.

I chose this light for a rental kitchen because it fit the criteria: correct size, good price, flushmount, a style that complemented the remodel, and good reviews. It performs well, but the drawback is the quality of the light. It is perhaps too bright for the small space and it has the antiseptic starkness that give fluorescent lights a bad reputation. If it were in my primary space, I'd change it, but is ok for the rental. I cannot attest to the ease of installation since my contractor installed it.

i put this light into my kitchen and it is so much brighter than my last light. i am extremely happy with it.. i've had it over a year with no problems & i am getting ready to buy a second one for over my kitchen table. Bright enough and easy on the eyes to help my kids see to do their homework.

Good looking, gives great light. The shape for the area in which it went was perfect for the best spread of light. Even the professional installer loved it. Good weight and quality; didn't feel or look cheaply made. I purchased the round light that matches this one and am very happy at how well they look in their adjoining rooms. BTW, I checked out the reviews on all the Home Depot fluorescent lights before selecting this product.

The light functions fine but the brown painted sections on the plastic diffuser were scratched and chipped, allowing light to pass through, cheapening the appearance of the fixture.

Too big and commercial looking, not residential.

Bulbs were difficult to install, connection in middle of light making it difficult to install tube lights which were not included with purchase. Light cover cheap plastic.

We bought this beautiful light back in 2015.If this is still the same design which requires TWO pricey fluorescent bulbs, I'd say it's awful. Three or four times a year we had to purchase new bulbs. Sad, as we'd really liked it.

The quality is poor, made of chap plastic it is NOT how picture shows, moreover, no instructions as to the size of the lightbulbs, three times already returning the incorrect bulbs, it says T8 but it doesn’t say length, width and it is very precise led three hole fit. Very disappointed, would gladly return, if not because my handyman already installed the base and taking it out would be difficult.

Easy to install. Did need someone to hold it for me while I connected the wires (other lights have chains that will suspend the frame but this did not). Purchased because I hate the idea of the new Integrated LED lights out there where you throw the whole fixture away at end of life (whatever that may be) and it’s hard to find regular bulbed fixtures anymore. Used 3 LED tube lights in this and it’s perfect!
