Quick to put together and sturdy. Got this and assembled it in about 5 minutes. From the pics, looks like it has a bulb but it doesn’t. We ended up putting a smart color bulb in it to adjust color as needed. Finish is nice and doesn’t scratch easily or collect much dust (or dog hair!) Definitely worth the price. Will probably but another one to go upstairs.

Unfortunately, when I received this McCarthy 66.5. 1-Light gold floor Lamp with slender shade the cord was detached from the lamp rendering it unusable. The lamp itself is beautiful and the base is very sturdy and heavy. The shade is also very well constructed and the lamp was packaged very well. It was very easy to assemble requiring very little effort so I was extremely disappointed when I realized the cord was broken.

The Hampton Bay McCarthy 66.5 in. 1-Light Gold Floor Lamp with Slender Fabric Shade is a stylish floor lamp. It has good height to set beside a chair for use as a reading light. The floor switch works very easily with a light touch, but the floor switch limits the placement of the lamp. The elongated shade is problematic to change the bulb and it isn't held stationary by the bulb, the shade spins and wobbles. Overall, it's a nice looking lamp but not very easy to use.

This floor lamp is well made and very attractive. The assembly was as easy as screwing the three vertical rods together, screwing that into the base and then attaching the lamp shade. The lamp itself has a quality feel to it and the lamp shade is also excellent. I like that the power cord has an on/off switch built into it so that you can turn it on and off with your foot without having to reach up into the shade or hunt for a button, but I've hooked it up into a smart plug so that I can turn it on and off from anywhere. I'm using it to light up a dim corner of my den with a 40 watt bulb, but the lamp can accommodate up to a 60 watt bulb. It's a great product.

This lamp has a slim profile, top to bottom, including the shade. It came securely packaged and included easy to follow instructions. The majority of the lamp designs out there are topped with a big, round lamp shade and you have to allow room for that shade. With this lamp, the shade is very narrow, top to bottom. I found this lamp fit perfect in my game room where space is limited and light is needed. I added a blue light bulb to the lamp to add a touch of flare.

Loving the brass/bronze looks this season! This is such a cute light for a darker area in the house. I love how the lightbulb is hidden under the slim white cover. You can use small round bulbs or an antique tubular bulb. The foot switch is convient and makes for a more sleek look on the light pole. My only issue is the cover doesn’t snap in so if you bump it or move it the cover jiggles. The light bulb keeps it from completely falling off. So make sure you place it somewhere it’s not going to get knocked into.

Pros: • Beautiful design: The [Hampton Bay McCarthy Floor Lamp Gold] boasts a usleek and modern look perfectly complementing my existing furniture in the living room and adds a touch of sophistication to the room. • Foot Pedal.. The lamp features foot pedal to control the light convenient depending on the placement of the light. convenient feature for reading. • Functional : The lamp's tall height and slim fabric shade make for great ambient lighting and draws guests towards it. •Easy to assemble: The lamp arrived well-packaged and with clear instructions. Assembly was a breeze, taking me only [10 minutes] to complete. Cons: •Limited reach: While the lamp provides ample light for my needs, it might not be suitable for very large rooms where the placement of light would be priority due to the fact the cord is extremely small in length causing the foot pedal to not lay flat but at an awkward angle •Fabric Shade: The lamp shade arrived with few dents which look like a face on the shade. Size of the shade’s length makes it harder to replace the bulb. Overall: I'm highly satisfied with the floor lamp because it flows seamlessly with our living room decor. Draw back that can be annoying to some is he length of the cord and he cylindrical shape of the shade hat makes changing the bulb harder then it should be.. For he price point this is a buy from my end if i are looking for modern look to complement your living room decor. I got this lamp because I have a very narrow space between a printer on a table and a bookcase that needed some light. The lamp came very well packed with everything needed except the bulb. The lamp takes a 60-watt bulb or equivalent. I used an led bulb. The instructions are straight-forward, and it was very easy to put together. It consists of a weighted base with three pieces that screw together. It has a step-on switch with a moderate amount of extra cord. The interesting thing with this lamp is that the attachment for the shade is not located exactly in the center. It is offset so that the bulb will be positioned either in the middle of the shade or more towards the top of the shade. I chose to position it so that the bulb was more towards the middle which gives the lamp more overall height. I like the sleek modern look of this lamp and the small footprint is exactly what I needed. The weighted base makes it sturdy and the foot switch is a convenient addition. I would recommend this lamp if you need a small footprint lamp that fits most decor.

This lamp is a great addition to our bedroom and it's slim design keeps it from taking up too much space. Amount of light will depend on the bulb you use and the foot operated switch makes it easy to operate. The gold color meshes well with the brass & gold fixtures and pulls in our home. Came very well packaged. There is a seam on the shade so be mindful when assembling how you'll want it placed so that's not seen.

This is a great floor lamp ... very simple lines to fit into a contempirary space. The assembly went quite well ... just be sure to screw the sections together without misaligning the threads. I am using an LED bulb to ensure I stay within the limits for watt usage. The light switch is unusual. It is a floor switch built into the cord ... you step on it for both on and off. This can be useful in placing the lamp behind a piece of furniture with the switch accessible.

Floor standing Lamp This lamp is about my height and I love it. It doesn’t take up space it’s slim and looks very nice. This lamp also has something I really really love for floor lamps and that is a foot switch that I just walk by and step on it for the light to come on. I’m using a soft white light so it’s just the right brightness. You can put this lamp anywhere you want it will blend in perfectly.

The HB McCarthy Black Floor Lamp with Slender Fabric Shade is a remarkably good-looking lamp that requires very little space. I've placed it in my son's room. His overhead light and desk lamp weren't providing enough light. Still, there wasn't a lot of room for another fixture. Enter the McCarthy. So sleek and slender that it hardly consumes any floor space at all. The foot operated switch is pretty cool although I think it does limit what can be done with the wire a little. Overall pleased and would recommend.

A very nice and sleek floor lamp with white lamp shade by Hampton Bay. I put this floor lamp in my living room, which matches my modern decor nicely. The lamp base is solid and is 7 7/8 inch diameter with a gold finish. The posts are solid as well with a nice gold finish. The lamp shade is white and is 20 inches in height and 6 1/4 inches in diameter. There is a floor on/off switch, which is convenient. The overall height of this floor lamp is 66 3/8 inches. This is a DIY assembly that will only take a few minutes to assemble. A light bulb is not included with this floor lamp. I am using an LED 10 watt bulb, which emits a nice glow. Overall I am happy with the slim design of this floor lamp, which can be placed any setting.

This is 5'5" floor lamp with the slender white lamp shade and design fits perfectly into small corners that need some extra light. I use this as a nightlight beside the bed and it gives off a very warm light at night and great for reading with. The foot step switch is a great feature also so you can easily switch it on and off. The metal materials and heavy base make it very sturdy and it was very simple to put together.

A simple tower lamp fixture with some issues. All metal construction except at the bulb receptacle, which was snapped on the first one delivered. I have not yet received a replacement so I glued it back together for this review. A clean and simple design, the design has several disappointments. If the shade does not appear exactly straight with the pole, there is no way to adjust it. The cord is not lighted, so you can't see it in the dark when you want to turn on the light. The cord is too short to put the control anywhere but next to the base, so I have to wonder why they did not put it in the base so it would be easier to find. There is only a couple feet of cord from the switch, so the lamp must be very near a power outlet or you must use an extension cord. There is no switch at the bulb and you could not easily get your hand under the shade to use it if there was one, so the step on switch is the only way to power on and off the light other than to plug it into a switch operated receptacle. The base does have a fair amount of weight and will not tip over easily, but if it does, the bulb receptacle will likely break as it is not metal.

The weight in the bottom of the lamp, keeps the lamp upright with no problems. This is a 60 Watt maximum bulb lamp. It all screws together very nicely and assembles quickly ! The shade you see in the picture does come with this lamp, and it has a floor switch as well.

Hampton Bay's McCarthy Floor Lamp adds that much needed light to our living room without taking up space on a table. At 5 1/2 ft tall it's a space-saving design that emits disfused light beside a chair or table; perfect for reading or working. The metal base provides the weight for stability and the lamp is easily assembled within five minutes. The modern lampshade has a minimalist look to it but it complements any decor. It has a foot switch but we've attached a timer to it so it automatically turns on in the early morning and off at night. Suitable for E26 light bulbs

Slender lamp that fits well into a small corner. We played around with attaching the shade right side up or upside down - one way the bulb is near the top and the other way the bulb is in the middle. The lamp does not come with a bulb and I used a color changing LED bulb with it to be able to adjust the feel of the room. This lamp has an ETL electrical safety certification, which is something you should always look for. The switch is mounted on the cord and you can step on it (gently!) to turn it on or off. Since I installed a smart LED, I left the lamp on and let the app turn it on and off. It is a brushed nickel finish that matches the other fixtures in my house. The shade is white fabric.

The Hampton Bay McCarthy 66.5 in. 1-Light Black Floor Lamp is a sleek, simple and modern floor lamp. It's very easy to assemble by screwing the sections together and screwing on the shade. It requires one light bulb. It's sturdy and well made but- the only thing I don't like about it is that the on/off switch is a foot step switch attached to the power cord. I've got the cord hidden behind a chair so it makes it very difficult to turn it on or off. It would make better sense to have a pull chain hidden under the shade. Other than that, I give it a thumbs up.

The floor lamp arrived well packaged and protected. Extremely easy to assemble. I think it took longer to take the items out of the box than it did to put it together. The lamp is very simple and modern. It is tall, over 5 ft, so don't put it where it is easily knocked over. We like the black and white contrast; very modern. It seems to be very well made. The foot control is very nice.

Perfect except for one thing! This arrived well packed as shown in the picture. Easy to install and no tools required. Instructions included. Cord runs through all the pieces connecting them in the correct order. However, the joint between section 1 and 2, where the base is connected to section 1, the silver screw top had apparently been bent at some point, which prevented section 1 from securely locking into place with Sec. 2 This resulted in slight bend in the lamp pole. See pics. Can still use, if hidden behind a chair.

The Hampton Bay McCarthy 1-Light black floor lamp looks great in our family room. The slim style allows me to use it in a location where most floor lamps would be too bulky. The matte black finish makes it fit in nicely with our traditional decor, and the woven texture on the shade makes it look very high quality. The foot switch is easy to operate--just note that since the switch is halfway along the cord from the lamp base to the plug that the switch can end up in a hard-to-reach location if you plug in behind furniture. It only took a few minutes to assemble. Bulb is not included--you need a 60W E26 incandescent or LED light bulb. All in all, I really like the slim and simple design.

This floor lamp is quite elegant. The 'golden' surface finish is very consistent between the three sections and matte the tubular shade is bright white with some texture. The three sections thread together and the joints hardly show. It comes per-assembled, ie the wire is threaded through the sections and attached to the lamps socket. Assembly is easy this way - just thread the sections together and install the shade. This lamp may require a bit 'straightening' after assembly - it may not be straight due to the way the socket and lamp shade are made - it is easily achieved by reaching inside from the top and bending the fixture before installing a light bulb. Unfortunately it comes with a very cheap power cord/switch. The cord is so stiff and does not easily 'unwrinkle' (see photo) so the switch may not stay level on the floor. A more flexible cord would be required. We recommend using a shadow-free Edison-style LED bulb 3000K or lower (see photo). This Bulb will uniformly illuminate the lamp shade. 60 to 100W equivalent gives a nice light in a mid-sized room

I just received this Hampton Bay McCarthy floor light it has one light and is perfect for a corner its very bright and modern looking with its matte black finish and the slim canvas fabric light shade. The light is 66.5" high and is a nice height. It uses a 60 watt bulb which isnt included. The black and white colors of this beautiful floor lamp makes it easy to match many decors and its a smaller out of the way lamp as well. It has a floor switch to easily turn it off and on and thays a great feature. It was very easy to put together as well and came with an instruction manuel.

Nice Hampton Bay floor lamp, comes with a nice clear plastic covered lamp shade that my wife leaves on so it looks new for years. Fairly easy to assemble three pipes that screw together. Floor switch for easy on and off. Standard lamp socket which I will install a LED lamp. Slim look with a shade that is elongated. I like this product and highly recommend it.

The Hampton Bay McCarthy 66 " gold floor lamp with slender fabric shade was easy to assemble and looks good. The fit and finish is nice as well. The on / off footstep is cool and works fine. You will need to purchase your on bulb so have fun and grab a 60-watt led light bulb that makes you happy. This lamp has a cool cylinder fabric shade that adds to its character while its tucked back in a corner of the room ready for reading or backlighting and the floor lamp comes with a five-foot cord.

Hampton Bay McCarthy 66.5 in. 1-Light Gold Floor Lamp with Slender Fabric Shade - This lamp is an attractive addition to a spare bedroom and comes well packaged to prevent damage. It provides sufficient area lighting and has a small footprint. However, the floor operated switch needs to be located closer to the lamp base...where it is at it just barely clears the bed frame and will prevent the use of a night stand on that side of the bed or I will need to relocate the light elsewhere.

This floor lamp by Hampton Bay. Is called The McCarthy, floor lamp. We have a empty corner in our house so wifey decided to fill it with this 5 ft 5-in tall, with a foot button switch. So you can easily turn on the lamp without having to search for a wall switch or bend over. Looking for one underneath the lampshade. No light bulb is included so I took the opportunity to add a smart light bulb onto mine and now I can program it to go on and off at any time I like. It looks good in that corner now so we're happy.

This lamp looks nice and is quite effective in illuminating its immediate area and moderately effective lighting a small room. The gold finish is flawless and beautiful and since this lamp is operated using an inline floor pedal that you step on, you don’t have to worry about fingerprints and smudges on the lamp’s finish. Being more than six feet tall, it is perfect as a reading lamp while sitting in a chair or laying in bed. The one concern I have is that the base is not as heavy as some floor lamps, which makes it easier to tip over. If put in a corner where a small toddler can’t use it to pull up on, that wouldn’t likely be an issue, however.
